I feel the pain, without even mention all the money i spent on hardware to kepp the machine up to date to run the latest games  Embarrassed

see the positive side Wink this computer will last long

It ist still something different ... having an own powerful PC at home or using cloud gaming services. I have used several cloud gaming services over the years and although they work pretty well (most of them, most of the time) you still have this slight delay. It doesn't really effect your single player experience, but it still there and you notice this. Every time I was playing I was just thinking ... something is off. Maybe you get used to it ... but personally don't love that. Furthermore this services cost money, especially Playkey is very expensive. Instead of paying 30 bucks a month, you could safe the money and buy every 1-2 years a new gfx card.
Problems with delay should be solved by decentralization. On this play, I think it will be comfortable

No, it can't be solved, because there is not internet connection that is "instant" :-) Pushing data through a pipe takes time. You can't solve that problem, you can only shorten the delay. And you notice a 30-50ms delay, which is pretty good in online games, but not for input devices (mouse / keyboard). People are just not used to it. Particularly when games are more and more optimized for 60 FPS, to offer that buttery smooth controls ... that you won't have in cloud gaming ... ever.

I guess Playkey is also taking into account lower pings on future connections. 60 FPS are like having a grahical ping of 16.66 ms. Thus, if you are able to communicate with Playkey servers in less than that time, gaming experience can be fluent even on FPS. Of course I mean request+response so it's still hard to reach but well, not impossible IMHO.

As levyashin pointed out, the game also affects that. You can play non-ping-critical games like strategy, adventures or similar without affecting the experience.

You don't have to forget, that every time you use your controller, this information needs to be send first to the playkey server and the result back to the gamer. So you need basically to take the ping x2.
You are right, action based games e.g. the new Mordor game are more dependent on good pings then a strategy game like civilization. On the hand, it also sucks wenn you click on a button and the reaction on screen is not instant (yes you feel this delay). Furthermore, strategy games mostly aren't so hardware hungry, so you don't really need an expensive pc for that ... and that is the main selling point from all cloud gaming providers.

Playkey is really starting to generate some buzz. I'm in  a couple different private groups and newsletters and I've seen Playkey get mentioned multiple times!  Wink

There's a lot of people excited about this project

I thin you are more or less right with your assumption, but the market for that kind of service is not huge. People that are serious about gaming usually have their own gaming pc ... or own a console.

50? Come on man. Let´s say 18 to 30. But that´s not the problem, because today it´s so extreme big that this let´s say small margin is more than enough. And i am also shure the tokens will be affordable.

I think PLAYKEY will play a great role in gaming evolution. Distributed computing particularly cloud gaming is now the current trend and PLAYKEY has got the right timing.

I try the demo, play 'SID MEIER’S CIVILIZATION VI DEMO'  for a while , works perfect on my MAC , running very smooth.

Use PlayKey i can the PC only games , really exciting.
This project awesome

That's a game I want so badly to play but I can't because my laptop is too old :/ And even if I upgrade it wouldn't run smoothly.
Too bad my internet connection currently is so fucking slow, I would love to test the demo myself :/
With slow Internet you can not play comfortably even on a new platform
Although many regions (regions) are basically support 4G is 5G; but often very often are unstable speed.
Often stuck in the unstable. Can not play steadily.

You are thinking in the past :-) When I was young, most of the over 30s weren't gamers. Now "we" are "old" and still playing games :-) But most of my friends own either a console (I personally own a PS4), or have a gaming pc (because they work and have the money to have one now). I don't know anyway, that would be actually interested in this kind of service. I am not saying that there is no demand for that, but I just think it is not huge. I think you can make some money in this market, but it isn't that easy. PlayKey is not the only company in that sector.

Tomorrow Egor Gurjev, CEO of Playkey, is speaking at Coinagenda Global - the bitcoin investor's conference in Las Vegas http://coinagenda.com. - We'll present our project to the potential investors.

You still can join - the pre-order will last until 25 October. Get up to 35% of additional Playkey tokens by making a deposit of 60ETH and more. Visit our website to find out details https://playkey.io

Subscribe to our channel https://t.me/playkey_io

Great to hear that you advertise your project on events all over the world. I hope you can make some agreements with potential investors in Las Vegas.

The 60 ETH is a bit to much for me, will have to wait for the public ICO.

Same here. I have high hopes for Playkey, but 60ETH is not something the average person will be able to invest (although I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who can).
All the best with the pitch tomorrow.

Yes, you cant play smoothly with slow internet connection even with this platform.
This is more like you compensate your low spec pc with your high speed connection.

Yes, it's just for a year now, but the place here has no fast internet, at least not where I live right now. I need to play it as soon as I have a stable and faster connection again.

Its a lot of money for sure but i guess they know why they set the bar so high, there is a lot of interest for PlayKey. With their working platform and years of experience, they can aim for some whales to invest.

that's true , but they should want more people to invest for a better distribution of tokens. that's healthy for the price.

Wait a minute, so the idea of this project is really good and all. But I am yet to read your whitepaper, but while I haven’t yet, let me ask this right on the bat. If this is a Decentralized Cloud Gaming, then the servers for this technology will be coming from different PCs from ordinary households around the world? No huge warehouses, no secret server location, but to simple PCs of ordinary people? Is that correct? Then if so, is it really feasible? I mean, what if many of them shut down their PC’s all at once for some reason, like sleeping or something. Also, for next generation gaming, there should be a huge supply of fast computing power. Will the ordinary laptops or PCs will be able to supply that demand?

Cool Hello! How to find a wife, get married in the Maldives and buy a Tesla - all this with mining on the Playkey platform https://medium.com/@playkey/how-mining-with-playkey-can-help-you-earn-a-tesla-f1cc47549e03

What I also do not understand from that blog is how feasible it is to convert an Ethereum rig to a PlayKey rig.

Typical Ethereum rigs have multiple GPUs but barely any CPU power, a small amount of RAM and some of them run from USB sticks. If they run SSDs, they are usually the smallest ones , meaning there is little space left for double digit gigabyte game data, let alone games occupying 100 gigabyte or more.

Let's say you have 6 GPUs and you want to serve 6 gamers simultaneously. I think the rig will be bottlenecked by the things mentioned above.

That's a good point, and I think you've answered your question. I'm very sure that each miner is required to run full instances of the game (ie. they make it so that one miner does the GPU processing and a different miner does the CPU processing).

Yeah, I realize now that a crypto miner could dedicate one GPU to one instance of Playkey and dedicate the other GPUs to mining.

But I wonder if a mining rig can run even a single Playkey instance. They talk about a "Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB of RAM" for a base configuration. I doubt many rigs have an i7 inside. The following quote from the blog stranger then:

It doesn’t require adding new hardware. Miners can switch to it while just slightly expanding their configuration or not adding to it at all, if they cannot use their capacity effectively due to increased competition on the cryptocurrency market.
