I don't think government will ban btc at the times that many known countries like Japan,China etc implementes and makes it legal. Maybe banks users will decrease but they are still be in demand for some businesses and companies. Their business will not affect much for now. Since still many doubting btc capability.

Some banks in my country are claiming that they are trying to "adapt" blockchain which is for them a new technology and they seem to be proud of it. They might have seen some kind of danger in Bitcoin, time will show us.
I think not all banks reject bitcoin. If that happened there are still countries that accept bitcoin like  Japan, Australia, and other big countries. Those countries support bitcoin of course tha banks follow the governmnet policy. Will all exchanger move to all countries? If yes, the countries will earn more profit by charging tax.

I know we are still at a start of cryptocurrencies, but bitcoin is growing with lightning speed right now and some banks already see it as a potential threat.
There has been a lot of accusations form banks, that bitcoin is perfect for money laundering and is used for supporting crime.
I think they can do a lot of harm to bitcoin market and they will eventually start with harsh campaign against it.
Do you thing it will happen and when?

I think there are not any banks that think that bitcoin is a potential threat, even though many banks accept bitcoin as an official currency. There are many governments that have supported bitcoin, it is taking a strong step.

Right. They can use bitcoin as another tool to make more opportunities for them. It's possible that they are now creating a card suited for bitcoin users. Starting a war with bitcoin will just make it worse for them.

The banks already know that bitcoin has really great impact in the lives of people. They also know how wonderful the way of bitcoin is going. That is why, they will think of ways of how are they going to make bitcoin looks bad. Those are only allegations. Or the bank will difinitely find a way on how they are going to control bitcoin. If they cant stop it then they will have it.

As with everything else, there will be a knee jerk reaction once they're way too late. They think they're on the ball because they invest in shitcoins like ripple but in reality they're screwed in the long run. Their entire business model is taken over by code. What now? Make them seem evil.

You are right , But still the people are not still beginners in this world to live , May be a small fraction of the people in our community can go against the bitcoin who don't know about bitcoin and also who don't want to know about bitcoin . But those people who made thier life with the bitcoin then i don't think they can bear this scam accusion like topic by anyone .
Here i myself will go against the bank system because they are scamming the people by investing the money in bank account and then charging for many type of maintenance charges .
Here in my own country a big bank SBI gaves a statement to the government about the scam of bitcoin and supporting for thr illegal activities but government said that bitcoin is not scam and everything is fine and at last that bank ownself made a plan to accept blockchain technology for own bank system .
So here we can see exactly what the people are in the current time because most of us are educated and we know exactly what we are doing with our money .

Sure it is.
I think banks right now are thinking some ways to give the users some opportunity. Like its hard to make compete now with bitcoin as for the fact it's now a strong currency. Their perspective now is like Russian government, at first they ban bitcoin like they hated it and later on realize that there's a great potential having this to be more powerful.
Soon banks will be go with the trend and will be seeing this as a great investment.

I think there is no battle between bank and bitcoins .. because if bitcoin grows and is considered a currency then borrowers can also go to bank to borrow bitcoin and use them. At present, many banks also accept bitcoin and the government also has many supportive policies.

What war are you talking about?  Huh

There is none and there won't be any. Crypto is just an option for some other people who wish to stay away from banks in their transactions. That does not mean that there is really a war boiling. In fact, some banks are also investing on Bitcoin.

I think its much more likely that banks will find a way to jump on board-- because to stop blockchain/crypto is essentially impossible.

its just like when proprietary online services (AOL, compuserve, prodigy, etc.) had to choose to either conform & use the efficiencies of IP in their platforms-- or be obsoleted by the collective force of the broad market

I don't think that they will combat cryptocurrency cause that's a battle they will never win Grin Grin  but instead they will try to control it, i even heard that China is launching its own national cryptocurrency and i don't know whether to feel good or bad about it Huh

I'm in the camp that believes it has already started long ago, and that at least some of the scams and website failures were attempts to undermine cryptocoins.

that is an interesting take on it to be sure!
hadn't thought of that

I do not see any conflict with banks. You will still go to banks to finance your business, house or car loans. They have savings accounts but their main source of their income is loans. Even if bitcoin succeeds as a currency, banks can just add it as a new currency and loan people with bitcoin instead of cash. I do not see any problem with that.

this is true in the long run-- but i still think there is plenty of disruption involved for the banks along the way

i think saying "many" banks accept bitcoin at this point is probably overstating it...

but its all changing fast that is for sure

Do you think it will happen and when?

In the past there have been incidences where couple of banks suspended/closed a couple of user accounts because they were linked with bitcoin activity. You can buy bitcoins through all major banks using credit card without facing any repercussions, but yeah a few banks aren't that bitcoin friendly because they know that bitcoin might put banks on the run in the future.

With bitcoins popularity, the popularity of blockchain has also increased and banks might be using distributed ledger technology in the future for their banking operations, but still no impact on bitcoin.

One other possibility is some countries coming up with their own cryptocurrencies to discourage the use of bitcoin, centralized vs decentralized, still no impact on bitcoin.

I don't think banks would start a war against bitcoin anytime soon. The most plausible approach would be legalising bitcoin like Japan and thus enforcing some regulatory measures to prevent money laundering and other financial crimes.

i think you are overthinking it. there are many people against bitcoin and many want it to not exist. but all they could ever do and will ever be able to do is to slow bitcoin down. the technology is out there and there is no way of stopping it now.

Banks will see the value in the blockchain technology and try to get in themselves. They're not gonna try and destroy the whole crypto scene and maintain their old ways, because that's not gonna happen - it's widely spread already (still not mainstream, but more and more people learn about it everyday). Just this week, a bunch of companies started looking for programmers with experience in the blockchain industry (VISA being one of them). So they're trying to hop in, not destroy imo.
