I know we are still at a start of cryptocurrencies, but bitcoin is growing with lightning speed right now and some banks already see it as a potential threat.
There has been a lot of accusations form banks, that bitcoin is perfect for money laundering and is used for supporting crime.
I think they can do a lot of harm to bitcoin market and they will eventually start with harsh campaign against it.
Do you think it will happen and when?

Bank cant go war against bitcoin but if the banks told to government that if they take action to stop bitcoin for some reason maybe it will. But in our country some banks are embracing bitcoin you can buy and withdraw from them using bitcoins.

I do not see any problem in this, because the bank's main business is getting loan. If bitcoin provided customers loans as their new currency, they would have succeeded 100% of the business. If there was a bitcoin bank, them the investors and the loaners would enjoy many benefits.

If there is was a bitcoin bank, you will kill online wallet for sure Smiley, bank will still stand like it was before with its own function, that's why online wallet do prepare to exchange your bitcoin to real money, because online wallet knows that bank accept money not bitcoin. and any fee also for their income. not start a war, because still many people using money than bitcoin, and many people exchange their bitcoin to money even not directly from bitcoin to money. (bitcoin - exchange money through wallet - cashout from bank the ending is in money form Smiley ). CMIIW Smiley

In my opinion bank will not start a war against in bitcoin. Banks is much popular; many people are trusting and using banks. I think bank will just adapt bitcoin and create another system just for bitcoin, so that your bank accounts are united into your bitcoins.

Why banks will start the war if bitcoin will help them to improve their holding capability if they use bitcoin as a online currency. There are some banks adopting bitcoin for payment and some are creating debit and credit card for bitcoin with a name of a bank on it.

Banks are against in bitcoin because if many people use bitcoin or keep holding it, that's very imposible that people using bitcoin are still save their money to the bank that has a little interest, some of people will choose to invest their money in bitcoin rather than to save it in money.
Not only that but if the growth of bitcoin becomes even bigger I will not be surprised if people began to make some very risky moves like borrowing money from the banks and then investing that money in bitcoin and then they sell the bitcoin and since bitcoin grows faster than the interest rates then they make money that way but I only think we are going to see behavior like that when we are in a mania.

In my country the banks have started the fight against bitcoin when many people have turned all their money and altcoin instead of putting it in banks.

We are already seeing the banks wage war against bitcoin, with these forks.

The old divide and conquer theme is playing.

I dont think it will work unless the big government assholes start a nuclear war and shut down all the electricity.

Bitcoin isn't simply getting expanded enthusiasm from technically knowledgeable people and banks, for example, Barclays, BBVA, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan, State Street, Royal Bank of Scotland and UBS. Governments are likewise loaning help to the cryptographic money.

I can't believe this, personally from my thinking banks won't directly make a war against bitcoin. This will surely make the banking system ruin their reputation as well helps in the growth of bitcoin. When bank oppose something, automatically people make plans of giving a try to experiment the reality.

Governments will adapt by printing money with 'scratch and win' style dollars... the bill will have a public bitcoin key on it, but once scratched, it defaults to the bill denomination.

As bitcoin users we must not think of a war against anything for it to prevail its community. Yes, banks are starting to have some notices and suspicions on bitcoin nowadays, but i think it was due to lack of guidelines or terms and conditions of it. I think what we must think about is how can we improve bitcoin to make more entity believe and embrace it so its essence will be free from doubts. Thinking of war especially when it is just starting to be established would not help on its rapid growth and development.

LOL when? Man wake up, the banks have been in bitcoins ass since we hit 1500  Grin

Banks have no reason to allow bitcoin to proliferate, its not the crypto they can regulate. thats eth in certain iterations, or ripple. notice all attacks on bitcoin as of late, and notce how like 100% of all the attack come from old school investors. its pretty much there job to hate on bitcoin; adoption of bitcoin means that they could lose the monopoly on financial services that they have enjoyed since there inception. they will lobby, they will fud. it doesnt matter, bitcoin is kind of an inevitable future, but that doesnt meant that it wont be a bumpy ride into the sunset Wink

People been making those kind of allegations and other complicated conspiracy theories since bitcoin's inception, it never happened and it will never happen, people working at banks don't care about bitcoin, shareholders don't care, CEOs don't care, tellers even less.

They only complain about the unfair paying field, they have to spend millions in compliance while some bitcoin startups who offer similar services don't.

I think bank will make their own cryptocurrencies in this matter to fight against bitcoin and for them to regulate their coin, where a centralized crypto will still in their control.. this two can co-exist with each other yes they will not care on bitcoins they have their own.

Banks have long been waging war against bitcoin and other crypto currencies and, it seems, they have already lost it. This is evident from the change in the rhetoric of representatives of major banks. It is more often devoted to the need to introduce blockchein technology, the need to introduce its own crypto currency inside the banking system, provide services using crypto currency, and so on. This shows that the banks will no longer be active against the crypto currency, and some statements to discredit it, it will not be harmed by the ever increasing demand for it.

Cryptocurrency is a future trend. The banks know that and they won't against Bitcoin. Instead, they will develop their cryptos. That will help them catching world trend.

As  I think, bitcoin has been coming  along a very strong path and it will remain same further. Therefore, banks will try to reserve bitcoins.

We hope they will not. However that will happen sooner or later and the bitcoin neighborhood requirements to be aware of that. But preventing bitcoin is not easy, since the neighborhood keeps growing and banks ought to discover ways to incorporate bitcoin into their systems.
