Investing in bitcoin is just like investing in any other stock market. Price of bitcoin can go up or down depending upon demand and supply.
However many newbie investors start to call bitcoin investing is just gambling after losing some money when they try to make some trading. Most of them just buy bitcoin when it is pumping hard and sell when there is some correction after a huge pump.

Bitcoin is not gambling.Gambling totally depends upon fortune for earning.Either you would earn or totally you would loose.But bitcoin is just like an investment in gold which either increases or decreases.But the variation is price ratio is very high in bitcoin when compared to gold because bitcoin is a decentralized currency.
Gambling has made many people to loose their investment totally.But bitcoin has not disappointed its investors any time.Only newbies may complain that they have lost in bitcoins,but its their mistake to sell at low price in panic.

I guess it's just a negative connotation circulating around your neighborhood. Bitcoin is cryptocurrency, and you can do anything with it. those who suffer with the notion that bitcoin is a gamble are a bunch of people who lack information, so they do their own interpretation without knowing the basics and the usefulness of bitcoin.

everything that has risk is gambling, the risk of losing and the benefits of winning, it goes with any other type of investment whether if it is business or just share of capital. It is unfair to use it as a description just for bitcoin in which even life itself is a gamble, losing is a part of lifQ and investing to bitcoin for me has a better odds of winning compared to other investments. All ways of earning profit gonna take a risk to have it. Maybe bitcoin is used in gambling but bitcoin is not a gambling. It both taking risk but in different way. In gambling, when your not lucky on playing and never stop, you gonna lose everything while in bitcoin, when you invest and the price pumps down, it is not lose of profit instead you will hold and wait for the time that the price rise again. |

I agree that bitcoin is not a gambling. There might be a risk involved but it is kinda manageable compared to gambling. Aside from that the current risk for Bitcoin holder is almost negligible because of the support and community it has. Beside the market is still to small and there is a lot of room to grow. So definitely if we invest our money to Bitcoin, there is a better chance to gain profit from it than the gambling games itself. |

Hello author this topic and bitcointalk. My opinion sounds like this: all our life is - gambling! It's no matter in what kinds of games you play it's always risks. Often it's looks like - win or lose but rarely medium. By the way I am agree that it's gambling because you can win, you can loose all and here exist some excitement elements.  |

Some are calling it as gambling as you can also lost some of your profit if the flow of bitcoin prices goes wrong. But that mindset is not the correct interpretation, bitcoin is an investment. Investment is good if you trust what you have invested and also you have patience when is the right time to invest and to sell for profit . |

"to stake something on a contingency"
"take a chance"
"something that could produce a desired result or a bad or unpleasant result"
"an act having an element of risk"
Buying Bitcoin is gambling.
Similarly, buying real estate, stocks, insurance of a business, is gambling.

That's right. I consider bitcoin as a trading money because it is not a physical money that you can touch right away and spend it. Gambling is totally different from this and has a different strategy to earn. As you notice,gambling has different system for you to earn though at times others think it is for fun and that's a normal case. If talking about money alone without such other activities that is bitcoin thing. I agree with you when it comes to investment. In gambling we can't afford to gamble nor it will have an interest. So better invest in bitcoin rather than just betting alone. |

If you are just a newbie in bitcoin and you think to invest in bitcoin for you can be a gamble. But I dont think it is for all the people. A gamble is more like a game of luck where either your lose either you win. Bitcoin has nothing to do with this because it is a currency. Bitcoin price is going up so it is an investment , a good one |

Yes of course it is not gambling. Bitcoin is a digital currency. It actually depends on how you use it. If you use it as a currency then there's no gambling at all. But by the time you enter trading, there's a bit of gamble there because the risk is just like you are gambling. But if you buy and hold till you can gain profit, it is not gambling; it is investing into something that you believe it will give you profit when the right time comes. So, that's all for my opinion. if they think it as gambling, maybe they not trusting it and it their taking their move as a risk, even entering is a risk but we are not putting our decisions on luck alone since we need some skills and knowledge to be successful. It does require some background and knowledge for people in order to REDUCE the risk of losing your investment. Bitcoin investments are gambling in a relative manner since both involves risk of losing your money and there is no guaranteed that you are going to profit in the long-run. It really depends on how you view it but almost all investments are a gamble of choice and money. It may be different from gambling like in the casinos, but every choice we make in life is always a gamble. It is up on us on how we can embrace the consequences of all our actions depending on the decisions we've made. |

According to my bitcoin not gambling as long as they don't use it in a game of gambling both online in mauipun come to the casino but only as an investment of their money into the shape of bitcoin because high prices made them want an advantage in the future is good so thus depends on who are using bitcoin into its activities

There are a lot of people that i see on this forum that only uses bitcoin for gambling purposes, and i see it because i visit the Gambling section in here twice a day, and there is plenty of those people who receive a payment, and instantly use it into a dice, or to play roulette, etc.
So i am not acussing them, but gambling is an addiction and it is not good.
