I don't know why people say bitcoin is gambling. Its not gambling. You are investing your money and time. You use your internet. So its not gambling dealing with it.
Actually, bitcoin is not a gambling and we all know that bitcoin is a good investment for a long term because if you hold it for a long term you can assure that your money wil be double or triple. In addition to that, you can use bitcoin in gambling but bitcoin is not for gambling.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

"Gambling (verb): To stake or risk money, or anything of value, on the outcome of something involving chance"

So yes, investing in Bitcoin is a gamble. But an educated one at that.

sometimes I also say the bitcoin is called gambling
I just invested with my own capital
so feel confused too

i think bitcoin is not gambling if you know when you buy and when you sell. by learning from many source, you can analyze the chart and decide the price you want to buy and sell. but if you don't learn anything and you are make random buy without doing analyze then i think its called gambling and you only depend with your luck.
Yeah it is the thing that is totally different from the bitcoin and the currency. The price of the bitcoin is getting high and the source of income is the bitcoin. It was said in the past that the bitcoin was one of the best currency to earn and to invest. Gambling is good but it is not the way to make the money get high if you want to make money seriously then you should invest and get the profit.

Bitcoin is not gambling, but in some ways, this is comparable. In both cases, you can not completely control the situation. It is unstable and unpredictable. Although Bitcoin is still more reliable way to earn money than gambling.
There is a little bit comparison between these two. But that is not the matter of fact as we all know that business always deals with unpredictable and un-proposed situations. So if you are likely to start trading and then keep going in it, then you have to digest these factors. Plus, gambling is not a source of money rather it is just a wastage of it.

I am agree with your point. Most of peoples are not aware about it. Bitcoins is not a gambling its a digital currency with no fix price its increase and decrease without any warning .So that's why people call them gambling. Lots of people do trading and with so uncertain price up and down, it is sort of a gamble to trade but actually bitcoin is not gambling.

Bitcoin is not gambling it is a crypto currency. Some people use it in gambling maybe thats why others called it gambling it is like a fiat if you use it gambling you might win or loose. So to clear it bitcoin is a virtual currency a medium that is used in different transactions like in trading and investing and others.

People buy Bitcoin, hoping to make money.  It is not risk-free, therefore it is gambling.

But so is buying stocks and real estate.  It is all gambling.

If there is a possibility of losing money, it is gambling.

Why does the fiat system globally inflate fiat annually at such high levels? Why central banks gambling away our money? Why are US Dollars, Indian Rupees, Euros, Chinese Yuan, Mexican Pesos going down in value every decade?

Will the bubble of global fiat issuance ever slow down or stop?

Globally recognized that there is no financial asset in existence that offers better long-term store of value than Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is deflationary, LIMITED in supply and not inflated like fiat. Bitcoin reached escape velocity 4-years ago in 2013 which means it cannot be stopped - cannot make it illegal or legal - governments/banks do not matter. Bitcoin cannot be controlled.

On the opposite end of the spectrum the global fiat bubble system broke a couple of decades ago.

Fiat around the world is forced to inflate issuance as its heavily infested, burdened and broken with:
-regulatory burden on fiat banks & system (incredibly costly)
-unemployment & other welfare costs
-inflating fiat to keep stock market rising and to keep house-prices from collapsing
-financing conflicts, bombs, and "aid"
-insurance fraud
-false claims and insurance loss-events
-stabilize regions after natural disasters
-keeping monopolies with internet access centralized and search engine crawlers centralized
-money laundering
-chargebacks
-frivolous legal costs (lawsuits bogging the system down)
-state-sponsored corruption and unofficial corruption (governments and gangs, banks and conartists)
-retirement obligations (debasement in value to keep up with payments from government or other retirement-obligations)
-fake credit (goods being transacted with credit-loss, replaced by inflation of monetary base rather than bringing perpetrators & source to justice)
-costs of auditors and budgetors and accountants to governments and businesses

Bitcoin, systemically, is free from these burdens.

Bitcoin is GLOBALLY held and sought after by people in almost every country - see global trade data by country or see this list:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1853019.0

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE STOP BLOWING BUBBLES OF EXTRA FIAT MONEY AROUND THE WORLD? (PLEASE NO MORE USD, EUROS, JAPANESE YENS, INDIAN RUPEES, CHINESE YUAN, MEXICAN PESOS - PLEASE STOP INFLATING AND MAKING BITCOIN SO VALUABLE)...stop this pumping

https://macromon.wordpress.com/2017/04/26/the-chart-that-floats-overvaluation/

Most of what you wrote is correct.

But when you buy Bitcoin, you are still gambling.

And the government gambles as well.

"Gambling" only requires 3 things:

  • Stake
  • Chance (risk, luck, etc.)
  • Profit or Loss

Most things that you do is "gambling", but society wants to classify some activities as more moral than others. According to Boston University Law Review, society wants to do this with white-collar activities, such as trading stocks, but denigrate blue-collar activities, such as poker.  But both are "identical wagering activities".
I don’t think that Bitcoin is more or less just like gambling. Gambling is entirely a different concept. As far as Bitcoin is concerned, you need to make wise decision and you need to think well before doing anything.

It is just not like guessing as you do in gambling. You need to rely on your education unlike making guess just like in case if gambling.

I suppose Bitcoin get compared with gambling cause of nobody know now what is going in the end. What is going to be in the final - worldwide banning or 50 000 $ price? No one knows and all of us may only suggest and believe in the positive end, due to all of us here on the forum, are Bitcoin holders.
The same like in gambling you invest your money and time in Bitcoin and waiting for the end of the game with you as the winner, so I think yes, Bitcoin is gambling.

I don't know why people say bitcoin is gambling. Its not gambling. You are investing your money and time. You use your internet. So its not gambling dealing with it.

of course its not, but in business terms, investment is a gambling, there are two ways to drive you money with, its either fall (loose) and pump (gain). so not just this bitcoin they may called "gambling but most of all investment projects. let you think this, you are a share holder, or major stock holder in your company, after a year your company got successful, but suddenly it gets rough and get into
bankrupt. and thats the meaning of gambling in terms of investment. no one sure of it.
Bitcoin is not a gambling at all. This is a different concept that it has basically become common nowadays that some people use bitcoins for the sake of gambling .the ratio of such activities has still not risen to a dangerous level.

If you have invested your coins into some sort of business and that is not a fair play at all, then one can day that bitcoins are becoming a source of some criminal activity.

yes, bitcoin is not gambling. but bitcoin is the same long-term investment as gold, but while bitcoin is the same as gold, its value and speed increase in value is much more favorable to bitcoin. so bitcoin is not gambling but investment.

Of course, bitcoin is not a gambling game, but a digital currency of the future. Simply, many people are still afraid to use modern developments in the field of finance and consider them dangerous.

Easy, they all say it because they do not believe in bitcoin maybe you will say a similar word if you know bitcoin in 2010. to be honest I can understand it because initially bitcoin was created that purpose is still unclear.

Bitcoin is not a form of gambling, it is a chance for people to embrace change for people whom are not given the oppurtunity to earn a spot from works. It gives people oppurtunity on having a side job that don't require them a degree fron college, and that don't require them to live hone because even in their own homes they could work through it.

Bitcoin is a crypto currency and exhibits all the qualities of a virtual money, there is no way one can Bitcoin can be compared to Gambling. Gambling can be defined as taking risk in hope of better results, one can put some money in casino, betting or any other sport. In gambling only thing which works is probability but when you put money in Bitcoin can be termed as Investment rather than Gambling, moreover Bitcoin being a currency is further used by the people for Gambling but having Bitcoin cannot be termed as Gambling.
