Amazing work as always. Thank you for this glph3k. CastXMR is the simplest and most efficient and straightforward cryptonight miner i have ever used.

Will be testing this version and get back to this post with some updates.

update update , with the new cast overall i see 200hs increase over 3 cards, but i have 1 card than just cant hit 1500 with the hbcc turn off , so i have 3 cards off 1 card on stable at 7733 mining bcn with and without --algo=1 works for me

Hi..

I drop the intensity from 8 to 0 and my hash go UP from 4500 to 6000.... my settings are...(cast_xmr-vega --reconnects 0 --forcecompute --intensity 0 --ratewatchdog --nonicehash --opencl 1 ...) im using last adrenaline drivers...

This settings are OK?.. sorry my bad ingles....

gpu:
0 rx570
1 rx570
2 rx570
3 rx580
4 rx580
5 rx570
6 rx580

What clocks are you running those 570's at? Trying to push mine a bit higher, they're hashing a bit slower than yours and it might just be down to clocks.

Hello everybody! On the Sumokoin coin on Vega 56-64 cards, Hesraith is about 1500h / s for everyone, so or only for me?

Hello everyone.
I have some problems with this miner.
I run a 6xvega 64  8gb rig trying to mine some haven (heavy cn).

I have the latest release of cast xmr.
Driver: radeon adrenalin Last release  (marche 2018).
Everything works fine for about an hour at a rate of 1500h/s.
After this : computer crash (turns off )....

Here are my settings :
-virtual memory : 60000 to 65000.

Gpu : -10%/1000mV
Mem clock : 1050 /950 mV
MAX temp: 70
RPM: 4000 to 4500 RPM  (maximum).

I let the automatic settings of cast xmr.

Crash after one hour.

If someone have an idea,  that would be great!

Yes it is for everyone.
To make a long story short: The algo is different and works that way.
Although mining Heavy, the cards work at less wattage than mining monero and a 4 Vegas rig, it does use about 100w less than mining Monero. 650w vs 750w

On a different note... I mine Haven instead of sumo, it is normally more profitable.
I have found haven.miner.rocks pool, which is very efficient, reliable, pays often and to exchange directly.
On a 24 hours average, I actually get a higher hash rate at the pool than the miner shows on the screen and consequently higher payout than expected, which for me at least, it has never happened mining Sumo.

Take care!

I get about 860hs on Gygabite aourus, and almost 900hs on gygabite gaming.
Gygabite gaming seems to have an edge vs Aourus. it does better also on Ethereum.

BTW mining Cryptonight heavy with the RX580, I get an higher HS rate than V7, and the cards hash regularly above 925hs.

Hi,

try the option "--ratewatchdog" to monitor the hash rate and automatic restart of a dropping GPU.

Or use the cast-xmr-ui for monitoring:

https://github.com/anadventureisu/cast-xmr-ui

Btw. are you using the Blockchain Beta or 18.3.4 driver?

I'm using --ratewatchdog and Blockchain Beta From August

It seems like after sometime if watchdog kicks in, the hash rate drops lower.  It doesn't appear as if my graphics driver crashed, because normally it will reset all of my OC settings.  Which also I tried to adjust OC settings however I'm not having much luck.

In the above sample I posted, each card will start off by doing roughly 1870Hs, but after a few kernel resets I guess over the course of the day, some of the cards just become obsolete.  Maybe ratewatchdog is not fully bringing the vega to it's potential.  When the hashrate drops, I also notice that particular card no longer reports hashes that often.  As you can tell by that small insert, GPU 1 started reporting hashes but 0 2 3 slowly fell off.  So it's interesting!

OC is 0 Core 905 Mem and -20% power

Thank you for any advice you have.

UPDATE:  I was able to watch this happen today and I wanted to share the log

[19:05:41] GPU2 | 49°C | Fan 4172 RPM | 1893.3 H/s

Now after GPU 3 was reset > it dropped to 56 hashes and it's no longer showing up like GPU 0 1 2  (3 the one which was just reset is now MIA)

Could anyone share hashrate results on RX580s on Cryptonight-Heavy with this miner? I haven't tried CastXMR for some time and have an already older version of it, but I am away from my PC to test it out, hence the question.

I'm getting just under 800h/s per RX570 clocked at 1220/1900 with the following command line using 0.9.6:

cast_xmr-vega -I 0 -S europe.cryptonight-hub.miningpoolhub.com:17024 -u xxx.yyy -p x -R --nonicehash --fastjobswitch -G 0,1,2,3,4,5,6

Anything I could do to improve? Setting --forcecompute just cuts the hashrate in half...
Just calling out here again, if anyone has any improvement suggestions I'd be happy to hear them. Claymore's miner is noticeably faster for me. I'm thinking it's just a setting or two that could be tweaked. Cast seems to have been a lot more stable so far so I would be keen to keep using it... if I managed to reach similar hashrates. I raised mem clock by 25MHz but didn't have any substantial impact.

Hi,

which driver version are you using?

Unless you have the blockchain driver installed:

--forcecompute is the way to go to get the extra hashes. Are you sure that all cards are switched to "Compute" mode in the Radeon settings?

I'm using 18.3.4.
If I toggle --forcecompute in the miner, hashrates gets cut in half... I have not installed Radeon Settings (as it just clogs up the miner and tends to crash more than anything else), so I overclock using Overdriventool. I'll try forcing compute mode in registry. Treanski shared the procedure in another thread. I did not realise I would have to do it again after I updated the drivers... Let me do it and I'll report in here.
