Look if friction is the developer , i am not seeking to disrespect him or anyone here. When you say 'counterparty I assume you mean things like colored coins i guess ? Cinnamon,
Friction is ONE of the devs here. I was first on the scene, I was the first out of the closet IXC investor. I'm not counting the few who may have bought some IXC just to diversify.
I was the first to see the advantages of IXC and to actively buy, promote it, raise funds for development and pay for bounties [out of my own pocket] to increase the effectiveness of my promotion activities, to bring in new individual investors.
I have spent countless hours on various social media outlets educating and getting people excited about IXC.
Literally thousands of hours.
And I did it for free and I paid out of my own pocket to bring people in and to pay for code updates.
What I'm trying to say here is, that programming is not the only way to be a coin dev, although, the nature of crypto coins, means programmers are of most help so that's why I encouraged everyone to give you a tip for your hard work.
That said, Friction is a dev here, but we had to do fund raisers BEFORE he did any work for IXC which proved to be a difficult, time wasting task; so I'm sure he [and all of us] will NOT take any offense if one [or ten] additional programmers come into our community and offer their services while asking for nothing more than voluntary bounties, AFTER doing the work. In my short experience with crypto coin development, this is how open source coin development works. Most alt coins simply do not have the funding to pay devs ahead of time or at all.
In fact, iXcoin would be much better off if we had more than 1 active [programmer] devs.
So please, Cinnamon, feel free to give your expert opinion or to help out in any way you can. We are a poor community [for now] so the pay [or bounties] are not guaranteed. But if one believes in the future of IXC, like Gavin believed in Bitcoin, then the most financially rewarding path would be to buy iXcoins and then pitch in with your skills, Time and effort.
And any bounties you may receive along the way, from the premine or from generous members of the iXcoin community, will then be a nice bonus.
Thanks again for your professional attitude and your hard work.

[*Cinnamon Carter Already Having an Impact]
Cinnamon,
I have been asked by members of this community to offer you a seat on the iXcoin Foundation Board [Which I immediately recognized as a Wonderful, nay, BRILLIANT idea].
To my knowledge, that would make us the very FIRST CryptoCoin, in a CryptoWorld largely dominated by male figures, to appoint a woman to the their [precious] Foundation Board.
The fact you have good programming skills [and 70,000 Followers on Twitter] are simply an absolute bonus. lol.
To those who think Cinnamon is an outsider or too new to IXC to be considered for the seat; I'll have you know that she has long been an IXC holder but she has remained behind the scenes due to the negative reactions women get on these male driven forums (* cough* - from guys like me, lol).
In fact, she specifically wanted me to NOT mention she's a woman but I simply don't like that. I'd be the loudest, proudest woman if I had her skills in a CryptoWorld where few women do.
So Cinnamon, I really hope you consider our offer and accept it. You are well qualified and having known you for a few months now I've come to think that you're a reputable, honest, decent person.
Exactly the type of people we need to fill our Board with.
Please let us know and thank you!

Shout out to cinnamon, you are my hero. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) and would make an excellent addition to the board. I vote yes with a triple z snap ending over the shoulder. I will donate to the person that adds in the counterparty code to ix. But only after it is added in. It appears that friction wants 25k and already has 5k. If counterparty code goes in, then ix will easily be worth atleast $1. The gains alone will give you your remaining 20k easily friction. And you'll most likely STILL get a bounty. And when ix goes to $1 we will all have more $ to give as tips. ie: let me give you some of my future profits, in the future So, really it's a win win win win situation. You'll get the $ you ask for friction, but you'll also get all of the GLORY. Think about it... Friction the mighty dev of counterparty ix, assured a place in crypto Valhalla. Do it Do it Do it. Please?? Pretty Please with a cherry on top!?

The pool had an ixcoin crash today: boost/smart_ptr/shared_ptr.hpp:412: typename boost::detail::shared_ptr_traits<T>::reference boost::shared_ptr< <template-parameter-1-1> >::operator*() const [with T = CAuxPow]: Assertion `px != 0' failed.
This is with the latest client.

Can someone tell me why the iXcoin difficulty isn't keeping up with Bitcoin?
I've been watching it and there appears to be a different difficulty algo running for iXcoin which allows for a lower relative difficulty relative to its network hashrate.
Cause from everything I've read, iXcoin is exactly like Bitcoin except for the accelerated coin mining output.
Does anybody know what's going on? If it is a different difficulty algo, how can that be and what exactly was changed, why and how clever or how difficult was that particular change in code?
Let's keep on mind, Thomas was very much an inept computer programmer, so any highly skilled change in the protocol would raise some kind of flags for me.
Thanks!

It's a different algorithm. It was created to try and avoid the problems namecoin had with miners mining it while it was profitable and abandoning it when it wasn't. The difficulty would rise high then blocks would take weeks to be found due to all the miners leaving. Other coins used ixcoin's algorithm and then other different algorithm's came along. I'm not sure exactly which one ixcoin uses.

Well, if IXC took that algo from NameCoin then that answers my other question regarding highly skilled ghost programmers working on IXC. Anybody look closely at iXcoin's code? Is there any other change which would have required highly sophisticated programming skills? Thanks!

Well, if IXC took that algo from NameCoin then that answers my other question regarding highly skilled ghost programmers working on IXC.
The algorithm wasn't taken from Namecoin, it was changed to avoid the issues Namecoin was having. I think ixcoin ended up with solidcoin's algorithm but I may be wrong.
