And please don't say off chain transactions cause that's just not gonna fly.  I'm actually shocked that experts like Eroc Voorhees think off chain transactions will actually work given that would be essentially bypassing Athe BlockChain which is the heart of Bitcoin.

So tell me what you think Bitcoin is gonna do in the next 6-12 months as transactions per second blow up.
No idea.  I hope they either lift the limit entirely, or make it float so that max block size for a given period is e.g. max( 1MB, 4 * median block size of prior period ), resetting on e.g. the same 2016-block cycle as difficulty.  I suspect lifting the limit entirely would be too controversial so something floating will be decided on.

Lifting the limit would be trivial in and of itself; the problem is much bigger than that.

See, "loaded" Bitcoin blocks don't propagate as well as "empty" blocks which is why Bitcoin's transaction limit is at around 7 per second. They're gonna need much more than that very soon.

If only Bitcoin was fully mature [or another coin just like it].

Guess what:  iXcoin is going to have empty blocks in a few months so it will then be able to literally handle many more transactions per second than Bitcoin [while being merge mined with Bitcoin ("magic numbers")] time tested and very widely distributed.

You understand programming much better than me so I'm sure you can figure out what could happen next to solve Bitcoin's transaction limit problem.

There must be a good reason the likes of CEX.io has such an interest in iXcoin.

This is the sort of thing about iXcoin that interests me.  iXcoin will soon be Bitcoin's future self, here today.

I would not be surprised if mature and immature versions of a coin running alongside each other could be used to produce some interesting synergies.

Yes, synergies are coming.  Rather than off chain transactions, it makes more sense to use cryptos merge mined with Bitcoin to increase transaction volume.  You get almost the same security for just a negligible extra energy invested.  iXcoin is a perfect fit for this.

I bet the reason CEX.io has jumped on iXcoin has a lot to do with it being merge mined with Bitcoin.  They don't need to add any mining equipment to support iXcoin, and they probably realize any Bitcoin business can use iXcoin for overflow transactions, as well as completely separate businesses.

If CEX.io ever plans to expand from just being an exchange into payment processing or a mega crypto store like Amazon, then they will need the extra transaction throughput.  That's only speculation, but the way they're going I think they have some big plans for the future.

Now you're all beginning to see what may be really going on behind the crypto-veil of secrecy.

It does make perfect sense.  Much more than off chain transactions.  That would never fly as it would publicly admit that Satoshi screwed up and Bitcoin is deeply flawed for mass adoption.

Adding IXC will be an easy task and the masses will never know or understand it.

But I'll know.  And I will understand.

And that's all I'll need.

Guys, I'm gonna be busy with personal issues for a while so I will not be posting as much as I have.  But I'll be sure to catch up with the thread as often as possible.

And of course, I'll keep working my hardest to try and make something happen.

Regards...

No, it really is that simple.  But miners / pools would need to be smarter about what blocks they build on top of  (ignoring spam blocks) and develop their own policy / code rather than rely on the core group.

After yesterday's falls (down to 0.00006)...

IXC hit 0.000099 on CEX.io. Now around 0.000072
IXC hit 0.000077 on Cryptsy. Now around 0.00007

Around 0.5BTC and IXC would go up to 0.001 again on CEX.io

I can't tell if this guy is for real.

I'll post the most honest valid reason I can think of.

Because we're a family of 4 living off one small income.

I wish I had a better more grandiose reason.

Cheers!

Do you want a valid reason? The most valid I have is that I need to get back all the losses IXCoin will cause me Sad Mi wife and my little baby will thank it as wel Smiley

Wow, if you really have more than 3kBTC you won't notice it at all. You're already millionaire (in FIAT, not in BTC, of course). Congratulations CFA.

There is no good or valid reason why you should send me 9 btc.

A summary of good and valid reasons:

1. If I have something you wish to trade 9 BTC for. (Unless you are willing to pay 9 BTC for a 1/10th ounce of gold or weed, I doubt I have anything you are interested in.)
2. Or if you wish to give alms. (There are people that are worst off than anyone of us.  So if you are looking to give alms CfA, there are poor people around you, I'm sure.)

~CfA~ [Not CFB]

If you're willing to separate with 9btc so easily you should just buy IXC with it.

Unless you're really convinced that IXC is dead.  But with over 3K Bitcoins does it really matter if you're taking a little risk or maybe a lot of risk?  There is enough reason to suggest that I could be right - even if it's improbable.

Good luck!

Cex, Cryptsy and Vircurex are the active exchanges, even if they are much more:

Still no news from Agx.io: iXcoin won a few weeks ago, but so far no trace of it.

AGX actually added iXcoin, but the exchange is closing.
https://agx.io/

Also, I'm not seeing iXcoin on Allcrypt anymore.  Why?

Hi all,

I'm offering a 50K IXC bounty for anyone who updates the Ixcoin client to Bitcoin Core 0.9.2.1 and compiles it for Mac, Windows, Linux 32/64 + Ubuntu PPA.

Even an old fart like me, really loves seeing these kinda opportunities, wish I was setup for & up to speed on cryptocoding enough to make this happen for IXCoin,,,,, before someone else does...

@ the moment...focused on picking Huckleberries for at least the next month....yet firm believer in IXC's value is @ extremely low numbers here, accumulating a few now and then when I can....

IMO a basic client overhaul really needs to get done asap

ETA: Hold on to those 50,000 for at least 0.001 and you've made 50 bitcoins, big chuck of coin if you asked me.
ETA2: Think that as we explore the true value for IXC over the next few years, it will begin to show up on more exchanges, simply because it will be in their own best interest to list it & partially because of its scarcity & the question of demand simply depends on what we make of it.....rest assured it has allot of potential.
