BTC38 added quark for crying outloud, there's no way they won't add iXcoin.
Some of these coins coming out are a total joke yet iXCoin is still being ignored. Yet for some reason it's still nearly impossible to accumulate. I've been trying to buy a few thousand iXcoins for 24 hours now and I barely got a nibble and 3 times I moved my bid to the highest on the books.
Very strange in my mind for a coin minting over 100,000 new coins per day and with nearly 18 million coins out there. I have not seen any coin be this difficult to buy.
Please VERUMinNUMERIS, could you follow the intructions and ask BTC38.com to add IXC? Thank you

Where are you trying to buy? I use Vircurex and there are usually a few thousand that position themselves right near the top of the sell side of the order-book. -MarkM-

I plan on iXcoin Development Team to join this organization: http://www.coda.coMembers of this organization include Mastercoin, Invictus and ColoredCoins. The vision is to have iXcoin support a "native" implmentation of ColoredCoins. We will be investigating the minimum necessary tweaks that are necessary for Bitcoin 0.8.6 and hope to release a release version when Bitcoin 0.8.7 is released. Please stay tuned.

I think your calculation of the number of new coins a day is incorrect, it should be: 13824. That is 25 * 6 * 96 = 13,824. Which roughly is worth $1,797 at 13 cents a coin. That is a little over 2 BTC a day. So even if miners were selling everything they can get their hands on, it should not affect the price much. I also suspect that there is much less than the 18 million coins theoretically out there. Over a 2 1/2 year period of iXcoin existence, with the lack of maintenance of the coin, the delistings in BTC-E and in Vircurex, it is likely a lot of the coins have been accidentally destroyed.

Why would they offer to join a competing coin or to help iXcoin out given iXcoin has some clear advantages, like its similarity to Bitcoin, its age and its massive hashrate? iXcoin would instantly become the top favored coin in that group for numerous obvious reasons. Can you clarify any further and when can we expect this to become real on any level? Thanks you.

Well, I'm not sure yet if they want iXcoin to join, but usually these kind of organizations are interesting in getting more members and are more cooperative by nature. Also note, the members of this group are competitors to each other. So there is a high probability that iXcoin can join. I contacted them today. Hopefully the requirements for joining aren't that high. But I hope you all can see the benefits of the association.

I wonder if its a bit too late to get some presence in the North American Bitcoin Conference in Miami?
This is on January 25-26th?
Anyone can make the trip to represent iXcoin?

I think the benefits of such an association are broad and deep. Digital cash is all about cash and contracts seamlessly wrapped into one so we definitely want to go that way. I'm a bit shocked that Bitcoin isn't doing it more extensively. The only thing I can think about is the bureaucratic, bloated nature of its foundation which could prove to be its undoing if they fail to innovate quickly enough. Too many rich people on that foundation with too much to lose making all the wrong choices. As for the conference - what do you mean by representing? I'm an Architect and the only other loud mouth here is Vlad and I believe he's an Economist so I'm not sure how non-techie guys can represent iXcoin which is why I'm asking what level of representation you're suggesting. Otherwise I think it's a great idea and we should definitely have someone there to represent iXCoin. Do you think you can roll out the .7 code with the colored coins upgrades by then, Jan 25th? It would be nice to have something real and not just promises like most alt coins in this world.

With all the money that is on the line with Bitcoin, they need to take a very conservative approach to any core changes. By contrast iXcoin can be a little bit more nimble and aggressive. If we compare the 3 other competitors: Mastercoin - rides on top of the Block chain but unfortunately there are serious concerns about its scalability. Invictus - they have a basic clone (Protoshares) than is used as a way to raise funds for yet undelivered new kinds of coins. ColoredCoins - an add on to Bitcoin, however no changes are made to Bitcoin to support it. Presence in Miami would give up more exposure to people interested in crypto currencies. I think a lot of folks have never heard of iXcoin simply because the coin has been neglected for so long by the original developer.

@Frictionless,
May I suggest you add something to the website about iXcoin being the first coin with a clear path to become the world's first SmartCoin or SmartCurrency which is exactly what we're talking about here, I believe and hopefully we can be the first coin to take the title of the world's first SmartCoin before anybody else does.
And I've been thinking that maybe, down the line, further simplifying the name to simply, xCoin, without the i, as it flows better but for now iXcoin is good as it's still very popular and recognizable to name anything with an i.
"A coin that seamlessly does so much more than money has ever done to further simplify and enrich our lives."
Very interesting indeed.

The whole scam thing has got to go and just that alone would take us much higher. For that we need something which adds real credibility and such an upgrade to the .7 code may go a long way toward that goal. So what exactly would be required if a non-techie person would make the long trip to Miami? Are we talking a presentation or just to be there to answer basic questions?

Probably its a bit late, so we won't be able to have like a booth or anything. I will need to check the schedule to see if there's any opportunity to talk. Well maybe we should plan instead for another conference. I don't think there's enough time, which is unfortunate since it is a missed opportunity. I mean, we still get ourselves organized. The website and the code still need to get worked on. What really upsets me is that the original developer had a very good opportunity, but he just botched it up. I mean, he had the coin listed on BTC-E way back in 2012 and he did absolutely nothing. Zero announcement. Anyway, I'm not one of the early adopters. I paid for my IXC with hard earned BTC. I do all this work for free because it is ridiculous obvious that iXcoin is in a very unique position relative to other coins. The scam accusations are really an exaggeration, the original dev pre-mined 500k, but spent like 250k on costs. 500k is like 2.5% of all the coins. Meanwhile, Mastercoin is 100% pre-mined. Other coins like FTC and PPC are massively instamined. Anyway, people recognize that now.

Also has different algo, and really that stuff was laying around so cheap for so long, eg, in feb 2013, about $100 would easily get you 10K - 20K PPC, but no one could be bothered to buy. I mean It was just lying around on vircurex lots of it. Mastercoin I can quite grok except what is the benefit of own more than a fraction of a coin to get all the feature? I understand it did have a buy in open to all and the dev made a call ages ago to be part of it and no one even bothered to try and join in. So no not insta mine. IXC coin has some , well shall we say stuff going on and a cloud hanging over it due to launch. I am still at a bit of a loss as to why you don't use IOCOIN, it has a good hash 1/5th of IXC and no premine cloud, scam hanging over it.

Look around, a coin's name goes a long long way. I for one rather spend triple on a coin I like and it's pretty obvious nobody is going for this i0Coin is just as good story. But if you've got the money it doesn't hurt to diversify I guess but I'm liking the ixCoin story (Vlad's version) and the current developments (FrictionMan).

The merged mined coins have always been under a bit of a cloud because of a pervasive belief that a coin loses almost all of its value by being merged mined.
That is why so many SHA256 coins cannot be merged mined, although it would not surprise me if they later add merged mining once they have mined a majority of the coins so they have overwhelmingly strong positions before all the miners who merge get aboard.
Merged mined coins have thus been somewhat of a "dark horse", nice "under the radar" opportunities; if IXCoin takes off nicely we should expect others of the merged mined coins to follow. They are a family, between them all they have explored/tested the merged mining concept. Although we still do not know where the practical limit is of how many coins one could merge at once reasonably.
The RAM-hogging problem that GeistGeld and I0Coin discovered on behalf of all the merged mined coins possibly led some to believe we had already hit the limit of how many coins one could practically merge at once. But with the fully fixed I0Coin and the "dirty fix" of GeistGeld we can already see that actually merging all eight coins seems to work fine. The RAM problems had been obscuring just how well this actually works.
Someone actually suggested recently that creating a bunch of new crapcoins and adding merged mining to them would be better than supporting the existing merged mined coins; I think that would be kind of sad, partly because that seems to me just more of the "throw-away culture", the "slash and burn", whereby fast-buck get rich quick spammers keep spamming new crap they have no intention of supporting, maybe even deliberately trying to draw support away from what was already created, instead of actually settling down to the serious work of supporting what we already have.
I have always instead advocated supporting what we already have; we do not seem to have enough developers and support staff to even just keep up with the maintenance of and infrastructure around the original coins, so continuing to spam out more seems counter-productive... it just spews out more and more work for those who do the real work of keeping things going, keeping up with latest code and fixes and so on, building infrastructure... The get rich quick crowd are damaging all that already exists and creating un-tenable workloads for the community.
Sure we are behind on keeping all the merged mined coins up to date. We won't get any less behind by piling on even more coins. Lets take care of what we have before trying to increase our workload even more.
The vast majority of the people spewing out new coins have shown no inclination to actually do any of the real work of keeping things running and keeping things repaired and keeping everything up to date with all the latest fixes and so on. To me that casts a big shadow over all their crap about new coins being needed. It is bullshit, they are just slashing and burning.

We have a cooperative relationship right now with I0Coin, in fact I've sent their lead developer some of the bounties for his contributions toward the IXcoin 0.8.6 client. Three things (1) IXcoin has a much higher hash rate that I0coin, IXcoin is right behind Namecoin in hashrate. (2) I really don't know what I0coin means. It needs a rebranding. At least I can say "iExchangeCoin" or "International eXchange Coin". (3) I0coin in market cap is really languishing with the rest of the riff-raff coins. IXcoin is constantly just right at the edge and a little push will take it into serious territory.
