Please add the ability to switch priority or switch to mine back up pools, so you don't have to delete and rewrite the whole thing.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

@blissz
I just wanted to thank you for all the work you are doing.I got couple of questions others users can answer them aswell Cheesy,  I Just got my antminer D3 and i planing to use this firmware and wanted to change the fans first because stock ones are just horrible and too loud. I purchased Noctua NF-F12 PWM Cooling Fan and Noctua 120mm NF-S12A PWM , do you think they will work and i wanted to test them both. Second I live in apartment where electricity is included in rent and also i have both 110v and 220v , I plugged mine in 220v i think its safer (is it ?), What kinda of config should i use for D3 with mod so the miner is quite and not overheating.

thanks in advance

Just a note regarding moderately elevated chain/chip temps.

My chain 3 chip temp was consistently about 8deg higher than 1 and 2, (often edging over 80deg).

Last time I shutdown I took the opportunity to move chain 3 into the chain 2 position, the logic being there is more airflow in the centerline.

This seems to have WORKED.  While still a nudge higher than the other two, it behaves much better relatively.  Or at least it's sensor is happy.  ;-)

Cheers,
Ryan

Thought this was an interesting table for those thinking about changing fans.

https://www.quietpc.com/120mmfans

Lists, RPM, dB, airflow, price etc.

E.g. the Scythe Slip Stream 1900 is the second cheapest, best airflow, and not bad acoustic rating.

Think this is what @blissz has? Think I will get some and try them out. Don't look massively amazing from photos though!

I was looking into that one (Scythe Slip Stream 1900) but it has 3-pin connector not 4-pin pwn , so am not sure it will work on miner.

just a thought about any kind of mod for the D3... with what Blissz did already lets you lower the noise and power draw... and the cost of just one of those fans would be 2-3 DAYS of the D3 mining  or 7-15 DAYS if you include electric cost. I wouldn't be looking to spend any extra money on the D3 unless it is able to become profitable again. A fan isn't going to make this unit make you your money back.

I tried the latest beta version on my Nov 21-30th batch,  I like it.  The chain 1 temperature didn't goes to over 100 on 1st reboot.  Normally, other version of your firmware would take a few reboot to get a temperature below 100 usually or lower HW error rate.   Restart only happen once for very long time (My L3+ runs few weeks without issue).  Slow restart and getting all device into proper state is more important.

Thanks,

Hi!

I installed Blissz firmware in my d3's and I made a mistake copying the cgminer archive from /usr/bin from one of the d3 to an l3+ I have too.

Of course it started up in the l3+ with the --scrypt param but it didn't mine anything.

I flashed my l3+ to stock again but now it doesn't recognize any of the chains on my l3+!

I'm begining to enter in panic! Could somebody help me with that? What should I do?

I think is because some additional files created or some script running in parallel with cgminer. I don't know really but that file is the only I changed "trying to not touch the filesystem" :S.

By the way, Is there any plan to make a firmware for l3's? It would be nice! on d3's are running amazing.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe I have set diff level too high, I have been trying d=32000.

Where I can change this value?

Congratulations @blissz,

The version 29/11 seems really stable already. Running for hours now, 462MHz on all boards with power settings to 8. No significant HW errors for now. Lower voltage settings result in higher HW errors - this is what I found out so far... Fans running at 25% (manual mode), still the original ones - temps are always below 80°C.

I now tried your newest version to medicate my other D3, this one has a Chain#1 problem and sometimes sees only 55 of 60 asics, sometimes it doesn't start at all. Your new FW is not changing this behavior instantly but I was able to bring Chain#1 back into 60 asics and 0HW errors by gently overpowering chain#1.
So this D3 runs like:
Chain#1: 400MHz, Power: 15
Chain#2: 462MHz, Power: 9
Chain#3: 462MHz, Power: 9

This setup is stable for now and I really appreciate your work, because with default bitmain fw those custom treatment wouldn't be possible at all. This makes this D3 hashing at almost 17GH/s while fans stay below 3000rpm.

After dealing with 3 D3, all machines turned out to be really different. So I wouldn't recommend any precise configurations because everyone needs to find out how his miner is doing best. And it seems that bitmain has a lot of fluctuations in there production line - otherwise we wouldn't see those big differences here...

always CHAIN 1 issue !!!!

help !!! need latest firmware to fix CHAIN 1 high temp
Thanks for sharing this.  I tried these settings but had issues with CHain #1 as well.  I kept it at 462MHZ and power to 10.  Temp dropped down to 37

with original firmware i got on frequency 506 around 1100 - 1150W and its 16-17GH, so must be less then 1100W, but you can never say exact all miners are different.

If you're running Blissz firmware at 400 and lowest voltage setting then ~700w (at least that's what I'm getting) will only be 15GH/s though.

Are you sure? Mine is October batch (19_3 model) and factory settings it was at 17GH/s and 1050w. Now I've tweaked it to 20GH/s at 1100w
