Wow, I just got some time to catch up on the thread, looks like I missed quite a bit.

Congrats lotto winners!   Grin

And oh damn, it looks like I need to book sell orders immediately.  I had no idea that all of my crypto coins are doomed, I'm glad that there are other people out there looking out for my cryptocoin best interests.  Nobody wiser than a self-proclaimed expert, I'm certainly glad one finally showed up (er....made a conveniently-timed reappearance).

Goodbye Litecoins.... goodbye MEC.... I'll miss you all!!

I'm heading out to cryptsy to drop a mega-sell-bomb on the MEC market right now.

Well, that's all of the sarcasm I have for now.  Maybe more later.  Cheesy

I transferred $700 into BTC to buy some MEC on Thursday (0.00009600)

It hasn't gone through the exchange and I'm still waiting as of today (0.0001650) for it to appear so I can place some buy orders.

I'm getting irritated at the price rise just because of this Tongue but at the same time it's freaking awesome.

Now it's marching straight toward 0.00018

When his crypto-doom web venture fails, I seriously think he might want to consider being a paid professional MEC pumper.

It'd be interesting to plot MEC's market price against his forum comments.

hazard,

1.
why do you think the fact that half of all the MΣC will be mined by the end of this year is a bad thing? I think that's great! if megacoin eventually becomes a major currency, why would new investors or consumers want there to be a greater amount of unmined coins still out there? you seem to want (a bit) more inflation of the currency to happen later, after widespread adoption - by then the richest people in the world would probably have the best mining equipment giving them an advantage to mine the most, i.e. rich get richer? please explain your justification.

2.
if Kimoto did patch it, and now MΣC is a good coin, then who cares what initial problems it may have had? if you think we're going to dismiss Kimoto as being incompetent just because he argued with you or ignored you, that makes you seem ridiculous. from what we've seen, he's an extraordinary developer. megacoin's intrinsic value, once fully developed and then widely adopted, is/will be the result of Kimoto's great work, as well as the rest of the MΣC community.

do you have any VALID objections to megacoin?

3.
in my opinion, the only real value any alt-coin can have is its potential to be better than bitcoin.

I (and most of the people on here, I think) don't see megacoin as the next litecoin imitation at all. once megacoin is fully developed, hopefully with zerocoin untraceability, simple-to-use, user-friendly understandable and good-looking, with all kinds of apps, and you can easily make fast secure anonymous irreversible MΣC transactions and purchases anywhere in the world, I do believe megacoin WILL be a better crypto-currency than bitcoin and WILL become adopted as a major worldwide currency. eventually, maybe the currency everyone uses. that's far down the road, of course.. it's wishful thinking.

governments probably can destroy bitcoin, but if we learn from bitcoin's mistakes, I think megacoin will prevail!

4.
underestimating megacoin can be hazardous..

Very funny. I've been involved with altcoins for over 2 years now. 5 months ago, I offered an altcoin creation service, which was directly responsible for almost two dozen coins, many of which still have an active community and are still being traded today.

So yes, I am some kind of expert.

As everyone knows, you directly developed a lot of unsuccessful coins and are responsable for some of those shitcoins around, stealing the money from newcomers in the crypto world.

So please tell us, what innovative feature do you have implemented in your coins? I guess you did just "copy and paste" name, ports etc... So, "well" done! It classifies you as an expert!

Anyone who is reading you posts is asking why is this guy always bashing? I followed your posts in the beginning auf the anoncoin thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=227287.80.
Just stupid bashing, without contructive critics, even it was clear that the developer (meeh) wanted to create a coin with very innovative feature (I2P feature, Darknet support etc.). Why are you so sad?

For me, you are one size with Fontas:

You destroining the altcoin community and stealing them time and money!

EPIC LIFE FAIL!

I agree with "onetime": We are now on a very different situation, that Bitcoin was before 2 years. Since there were no other coins around, where people can invest, it need some ammount of coins to trade with. BTW: Bitcoin would not be in this situation, when there where no suitable amounts of coins to trade with.

hey megacoiners,

we should work to create/develop both the software and the hardware for a debit card (or thumb drive) MΣC transaction authorizer machine to be used for retail stores everywhere.

a machine specifically designed to run a specific operating system (to which access is cryptographically protected from being hacked) tailored to the megacoin network and the secure access of portable password-protected wallets. this machine will have a keyboard interface and a built-in card/drive reader, and have an internet connection limited to ONLY connecting to the MΣC network.

the retailer owns and controls the machine, and customers bring their wallet debit card/drive to make a payment to the retailer.

the retailer inputs the charge amount (MΣC).

the customer connects/swipes his wallet debit card/drive, granting the machine access to his wallet.

the machine then automatically opens the customer's wallet, sets up a megacoin transaction of the charge amount from that wallet to the retailer's wallet, and displays a conformation screen for the customer to accept.

the customer visually verifies the charge amount.

the customer is prompted to type in his wallet password.

the machine verifies that the transaction was successful. (afterward, the machine DOES NOT store the customer's wallet information or password.)

it's important that this be a specific machine that will ONLY access wallet files, and is impossible to tamper or hack. the software must be trustworthy open-source, and would self-destruct if it's ever altered. and any fraudulent fake machine would need to be denied access to the network.

how can we make this happen?
