It could be interesting seeing weekly betting patterns and growth rates with plots of daily (or weekly, or moving average) amount wagered versus time.

I'll get right on that.

In other news, I'm increasing the commission from 5% to 10% after next Sunday's commission is taken.  Momma needs new shoes.

Suggestion on the plots:
I know I recommended chartkick, but there's Flot as well, which I find to be even easier to use.

You're right.  I'll update it now.

Edit: Done.  The post size exceeded the forum limit, so I removed the data for weeks 2 and 3 to make space.

I think Goat was going for the most profitable bet.  I believe that 640 BTC bet that you are referring to would have only profited about 63.6 BTC had it won.

My goal was only to get the high score.
Idea: weekly (or bi-weekly) high scores, with achievements to unlock.
That would be our version of the free appetisers to people gambling a lot.

perhaps high rollers could be rewarded with

  • additional characters in their username
  • theme switcher
  • custom sound effect when they start betting

Not a single comment re. me doubling the commission rate?

Come on; this is unacceptable gouging.  Who does he think he is.  Etc?

Here's a profit chart.  I added a green "expected - 5k" line to show how we're running parallel to expectation, just about 5k below it.

Expectation is that we'll continue to do so.  We won't, of course - we'll do better or worse that expected.

I am okay with 10% though I did hope the commission increase would be more gradual.

It does seem like quite a jump to go from 5% to 10%, but it's your site and if people don't like it they don't have to be invested in it. I'm sure you'll just keep moving it up as long as people don't seem to say much regarding it.

when these increases happen, would it be beneficial for investors to divest all their holdings at the lower commission, and then reinvest after the commission has been raised?

Fine for me.

Seriously, if you want to implement achievements, let's discuss it. I think it might be quite interesting.

I am fine with the fee as long as development continues.  I would encourage you to try to get out of some of the stuff that is "wasting" your time.... manually pushing deposits for people who cant wait for a block, creating charts for people (automate this!!!), trying to explain basic stats and probability to fools who will never learn.  Less of this, more cool new features for Just dice and I will be happy!

GOOD WORK SO FAR DOOG!

He's half-right, though. It's beneficial to divest everything at the low commission, since commission is only paid on new profit. Think of it as pre-paying at a lower price.

on Sunday, you'll be still charged with old commission rates anyways, regardless if you divest or not. The only thing you can do is divest when you think that the site profit is at the top currently and will go downwards until Sunday. So you will prepay the return to the top with lower rates.

Smiley seems like everybody agrees.

Congratulatioins, you earned it.

Just-Dice is a great innovation in bitcoinland.

How did you come up with the idea to allow investors to fund the bankroll instead of buying a share?
