Hi everyone, It's been three weeks since we opened the pool and a lot of things happened, even some unsuccessful DOS attack from an undesirable person who happens to operate a tiny unstable pool. But everything keeps working steady and we recently mined our first MILLION SXC. We are so happy we want to compensate our miners for their support now that the price is low, and set a 1% fee forever. http://sexcoin.ecoining.comThanks and happy new year! By the way, thanks for your work devs.

If you need nodes, just use:
node01.sexcoin.us node02.sexcoin.us node03.sexcoin.us node04.sexcoin.us node05.sexcoin.us
node01.sexcoin.us is 23.94.28.23. node02.sexcoin.us is 199.188.203.26. node03.sexcoin.us is 74.122.234.52. node04.sexcoin.us is 81.166.156.164. node05.sexcoin.us is 67.191.160.195.
-> If you know other reliable nodes, let me know and I add nodeXY.sexcoin.us! -> If you own VPS or dedicated server, install sexcoind! -> If you have a girlfriend, bang her.
My wallet still wont sync

There is a problem ?
There was potential double payout detected so as a security issue the payments were temporary halted. They were processed at once when the issue was solved. By the way, the mining worked fine, the issue didn't affect this. We also upgraded MPOS and tweaked stratum to reduce overall invalid pool shares and better efficiency for small miners. http://sexcoin.ecoining.com

having only cryptsy for big exchange is not good for the coin. most of the damage to the coin (but in that case also the vantage before to the coin, at least when the coin was added) was caused by cryptsy that was not able to handle the amount of trading.
it's a sword with double cuts.
situation needs to be improved. even now, with low volumes of exchanges, doing a normal trading is not possible o ncryptsy. i mean, adapt prices to the market. it requires at least 5 seconds to cancel an order, 5 seconds to reappear in the database your money, 5 seconds to put another price and 5 seconds to appear new prices.
multiply all that for all the transactions and you get a falsed market.
really frustrating

difficulty bump from 3 to 8 today In the last two weeks, there were created so many new sexcoins. I don't have the exact number, but it should be around 5 million. That is just too much for such a short period of time. And in the last couple of days, the difficulty increased and decreased and increased heavily again, now it is at around 5. Could someone explain why? Thanks a lot.

So most likely some multipool has added it so when it switches over the difficulty goes up, when that happens its not as profitable to the pool so it swaps to the next most profitable coin then the difficulty goes back down again

i dont think that there is a multipool causing that, i believe that there are some people out there who have like 100mh/s power and instamine this coin becouse the 30 or 60 (cant remember exactly) block difficalty retarget that it has, and this is just sad for everyone... but i also hope that this will be fixed along with the final clinent, speaking of which... long time no news... what happened lava?

Can we get an update on the client updates? Specifically, what the changes are, and when we can expect a release. I understand the timing is never in stone, but would iike something to look forward to.... some incentive to hold. For example, I previously heard mention of a webcam being built into the client, is that actually happening, or somebody made it up, maybe me?
also, is there a list somewhere of upcoming features for future releases? thanks.

OK, as far as I know... 1) Magic Number changed by hardfork. The desync fix used in many coins does not change the network from litecoins, it just masks it and may require additional hardforks. Lava actually tested this, and it works..afterwards SXC's network will be completely different from litecoins. DONE2) Hashrate algorithm changed. Every wonder why your pool says it putting out twice as much hash as the network ? on almost every coin ?.. that's because the hashrate algo is a bit clumsy, especially when it was written for litecoins retargeting window, and that window has been changed dramatically. This effects lots of things especially the difficulty. DONE30 Block retargeting with "Poison Pill" ... 30 blocks is a good retargeting time, and it allows better accuracy for hashrate calulations but it might not be so great when you get hit with several GH.. The poison pill automatically retargets the difficulty if there is a huge spike in hashrate. I assume it also automatically retargets if there is a huge droip in hashrate DONE4) Directory structure changed.. I'm not a Linux guy.. I fiddle with it, but I prefer the ease of windows... So I'm taking Lavas word when he says having every thing in one directory is better for Linux users.. I just like this change because it means I can have the new wallet on a USB stick, and plug it into whatever machine I want to use.. DONE5) Network alert key change. When "Chinsu" abandoned the coin he took the network alert key with him, meaning that we can't send messages like "Upgrade Immediately to" . This is kinda important. PENDING That's it.. that's the last thing we want to change... and I'm impatient, Lava's impatient, and we know that generally people will be unexcited by this but we also know how important it is to get the technical things right so then the bells and whistles are on a solid foundation that works like it should. If we don't take the time to do it right, we will have to find time to do it over... As for coming stuff yes everybody wants a webcam client. We were going to brand a client for the chinese market because they said porn is illegal and they wouldn't promote it, but it seems the chinese are starting to promote SXC anyway, I guess they lost their fear that they would get hassled by their government, so that's been scrapped. There are other ideas, but I'm not going to mention them because we don't want other coins getting a jump on us.. being first is important.

I like it... A lot of people don't understand what we are aiming for. Today I was along way away and I explained bitcoin to my friends mother who was new to it and in her sixties.. It took a little while.. Then I took the plunge, and talked about SXC trying to get the points I have put in the OP (I updated it with an about) some of them, like the reduced risk because the operators were selling virtual goods, she got without me prompting her. The fact is she looked at from a straight economic viewpoint, instead of an emotional kneejerk reaction.. once you explain the business side, I think most people would get it.. Articles like this help get people past that silly "Sex is naughty, you said something naughty ..haw haw..." reaction...
