Just made a payment on PayPal, do I need to send any email to confirm?

Here is what you need to do. Just basically send an email using the info from the first page. I'm quoting it below

Purchase instructions

Email: drillbitsystem[at]gmail[dot]com with the subject “Chip Purchase”, and the following information in the body:

Forum Name:
First Name:
Last Name:
Street Address:
City:
State:
Zip Code:
Country:
Shipping type:
Phone Number:
Email Address:
Chip amount:
Payment amount: ... (incl. exchange rate used for conversion)
Assembly: none if you are choosing the chip only option, or number of DrillBit boards, and/or backplanes you will be desiring
Sending Address:
TX ID:

I thought that was only for BTC payments? Are you sure? If so thanks.

Its listed under the section talking about payments.  And as you can see theres some info that is not on paypal. I.E. forum name, shipping type, assembly, email, etc.  and not everyone uses their main email as their paypal account. Plus this allows him to keep everything in one location instead of having to pm you about those details or search through paypal for your transaction id or through this topic to compile his list for shipping and amounts etc

There is a line "... or follow the instructions below:" which is certainly a separation for below.
Nvm, just wait for Barntech. Thanks.

Will be handling Drillbit System UK/EU replacement components soon (waiting to confirm details, stay tunes)

hey Barntech

thanks for clarification, my idea was that maybe you are getting chips about now, from some surplus.

I'm considering to place an order for few hundred chips by the end of this week (hope it still be available). Price is still same USD 25 per chip.  When chips can be shipped, any idea? On front page you wrote about escrow is it still an option for chips at least.

Hey Pinwheel,

Are you interested in plain chips, or assembly also? By all means, grab a few hundred. The price is the same for all the chips. We have been told early October delivery on the chips. Assembly will be a couple weeks from when get the chips. We are not doing escrow on this one, mostly to have quick easy access to the money when we need it for the chips. I have been verifed by John K https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=266235.msg2917573#msg2917573 and we accept paypal payments as an extra security blanket. We're not going to run away with your money.  Smiley Also, happy to have a chat on the phone if you like, PM me for my phone number.

Cheers

Barntech

Not necessary, but doesn't hurt just in terms of keeping track of everything. Cheers

Just curious...once we get through this group buy of chips and assembly, what are your plans?  Do you guys plan to keep chips/boards/assembled boards, etc in stock or will you continue with the group buy model?

If you buy chips, the chips are yours. Once we get closer to manufacture i will ask everyone who has bought only chips what they want done about assembly. You will then need to pay for assembly, or i can just ship you your chips.

If we get through the group buy quick enough and it seems viable that we might be able to fill a second reel before October delivery, then we will open round 2. If not, by the end of this assembly run we will have some miners in stock for sale; for higher prices because they will be in hand and ready to ship.

From there it will really depend on the climate of Bitcoin at that time, we may continue to pursue Bitfury, or will perhaps by then be moving towards a new board for a new chip, if we can get our hands on one early enough.

With regards to daisy chaining the drillbit system, how does that work? You can chain 4 boards together, presumably with spacers? If you want more, you need a backplane? A regular SATA backplane? Aren't they only 5 or 6 slots to a board?

See the photo on the main page for the 4 stack Miniplane. It is a custom card that comes free with the purchase of two or more boards made for stacking 4 cards together. For larger stacks, we are looking at either a 16 stack plane, or a 4 stack Megaplane that takes 4 fully stacked Miniplanes to bring you to a total of 16. Currently favoring the later option.
