Should things like this never happen, I really wonder why people often make mistakes on very important things.
If this kind of thing happens to me I will be very frustrated and start blaming myself.
With this story, hopefully no mistakes will occur again, we must be very careful.

His experience tells us that we need to keep my wallet. In the network of centralization, the missing keys do not mean anything. Although bitcoin was still a low price at the time, it was a bad experience. I hope he can forget about it as soon as possible.

This guy has lost 103 bitcoins he mined back in 2011 and then lost his wallet dat file similar to what I have done but wow this guy must be gutted the amount of money he has lost compared to me

His Address    166BuLPWHUjqoqiYp5rGE3B5r5AmqgHpoL    Final Balance   103.20832384 BTC

So many people have the same problem and I wonder just how much Bitcoin is stuck not being able to be used Sad

He says "I used to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 and I lost my wallet.dat file (through several stupid moves on my part). It's got approx 103 BTC in it, anyone is welcome to it, I've given up trying."

if the problem is indeed difficult to solve, because it involves privacy, and he can only let it go if he really gives up, just think it's a big disaster....  Cry

A lot of people have lost tens of thousands of coins, either as a result of their carelessness or as a result of hacking. Compared to that what this guy has lost is minuscule. Anyway.... do you guys remember the 20,000 BTC pizza?

This is quite unfortunate, this is one of the few disadvantages in the decentralized system in blockchain network. I believe there must be some measures put in place to address such problems. For instance, there could be  measures to assist such issues in the near future.

103 bitcoin is alot of money, however, I can  imagine the level of pain the guy is going through right, it would be great if there's a way to recover the DAT file. However, I wish him best of luck.

This is however a great lesson for us to encrypt our Wallets with pass-phrase or actually store them outside the computer in an Hardware like ledger Nano especially where huge amount is involved. It looks like he lost about a million dollars worth of bitcoin!
Yes, in addition this kind of experience just proved that something will be useless if we will not take care of it well. Thats how important our moves here because one wrong move we can lose our money and the only thing we can do was to regret it.

BIG WINNER!

There are so many bitcoins that the owners have lost access to and they are now unusable, this reduces the amount in circulation, but it also raises the question of whether there should be another way of recovering lost wallets.

What a tragedy for him because he lost his 103 bitcoin on his wallet. And the lost because of some action that makes him can't open his wallet anymore. So, don't you guys ever lost your dat file or your private key of your wallet.

It's really very important to keep our wallet secure all the time. Do all the necessary things to make sure you got all the stuff you need in the future and emergencies. I happened to lost my UTC file of my MEW but thanks goodness i don't have anymore assets left in there.

I do think that this happens and sometimes it happens for a reason God controls your life so if he did not lose the bitcoin maybe there will be something will happen to his life or bad happen but we really don't know.

I feel very sorry to the guy. If he hasn't lost it he would be a millionaire right now and enjoying his life, but then he lost it and never recovered it again. I do think that this happens and sometimes it happens for a reason God controls your life so if he did not lose the bitcoin maybe there will be something will happen to his life or bad happen but we really don't know.

Bitcoin promises the most safest and the most confidential transactions and thus is the reason why millions of people around the world finds bitcoin very munch trustworthy and invest in bitcoin, in a faith that they are investing in a right place and they will get their maximum profit and the reason for the safest transactions is that it doesn’t involve any third party seizure thus no third person has the right to see the transaction between the two but I think this is also the misadvantage that atleast there should be someone who could regulate these things and bitcoin needs to work on this.

Wow, 103 bitcoins is quite much and this would really make the owner of that wallet have sleepiness night when bitcoin got to 20k usd. This is why, we need to count ourselves lucky with this awesome technology that had the potential to enrich us.

Of course, it is very painful to lose this bitcoin, but do not make you weak because of the incident. Be patient, because those who commit crimes will inevitably get into trouble in their lives, and you must learn what you have lost, to be more careful and learn how to protect what you have, in a good and right way to avoid repetition.

He doesn't believed that Bitcoin price will have a great price that's why he don't back up his file and think that it is just a waste of time. We all have done mistakes in the past and just use that experience to be more careful and be a better person in the future
