PHP is a terribly insecure language to code in, Go or Ruby would be much better. But if nothing else, have you all ran the code through a vulnerability scanner yet?

A quick scan using RIPS bug scanner yielded quite a few things to look at. Lots of additional validation and security hardening needed.

Lots of stuff found in peer.php too:

Code:
Userinput is passed through function parameters.
149: ⇑ _log ("$x['id'] - Invalid signature");  // transaction.inc.php
117: ⇓ function check($x, $height = 0)
requires:
149: if(!$acc->check_signature ($info, $x['signature'], $x['public_key']))

Userinput is passed through function parameters.
82: ⇑ $trx->check ($data) // schema.inc.php
80: $data['id'] = san ($data['id']);  // schema.inc.php
31: $data = json_decode(trim($_POST['data']), true);  // schema.inc.phpif(!empty($_POST)),
requires:
71: elseif($q == "submitTransaction")

Suggest the devs download the scanner and check on the issues themselves to improve security of the code since these servers are wide open for attack on the Internet per the README file.

RIPS info:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/rips-scanner/

https://superb-sea2.dl.sourceforge.net/project/rips-scanner/rips-0.55.zip

Thank you for your input, i have already ran the code via rips, it produces only false positives.

I do not believe that any language is insecure by default and the code can be insecure with any language.

I do encourage other php developers to review all the code and inform me if they can find any bugs/vulnerabilities.

Hey guys, I am also having trouble understanding what exactly is happening to my shares on the offical mining pool. I started mining 4 days ago and received my first payment rather quick. I am mining with ~10 h/s using Dans Java Miner. Now i havent been getting any payments for 3 days. Every time i check the historic shares the amount displayed goes down. At this point it doesnt even show me the 10 ARO i got paid already, that are sitting in my wallet. Any help/advice would be appreciated.

I had the same problem, mined with around 40-50h/s for about 8h and didn't get anything so I've stopped.

Could you both provide your wallets addresses please so that I may look into this further for you.

Here is mine: 9sAvBZYwXLEhcnoa3aroiMwDam4Dpmg4r2QiB1vFUoLrvppqnJvczWxzPVACoCVF355uKy6sxW1TVWE hExbjksD
Thank you.

From what I can gather, you haven't earnt 10 ARO which is the requirement before payment is made to your wallet. I would suggest to keep on mining and keep an eye on any shares you might be having. If your miner is showing you as having gained shares then there should be no reason why you aren't getting paid for those shares.

Please do let me know how it goes so I can then take this further if needed.

This is wrong. Like i said i received my first payment quickly. Here it is on the block chain: https://arionum.info/transaction/DJj9akH7JuFhpjR31YpX95McVzjwTvg1yZKeyMohE6j9VShcaJd5ey8UhJeeefSsyB2f4Er9ArmE7fmDV5t5yi9
Since then all my records seem to get removed after some time from the pool. At the momemt i can't find any evidence that i have mined for ~4 days. After writing the post yesterday i had 7500 shares and a pending balance of 2 ARO. They are also gone from the pool and i never received them.

Ok looking further into this with the Devs, your pending balance is 8.22995386 ARO, so that is what has been earned over the last few days. I hope this clears things up for you.

Hey guys, have a question/issue that maybe someone here can help with.

I am currently running a VPS (through Vultr) to mine ARO and it is going well with Ubuntu. I check in using Putty but when I close putty I guess the miner also stops so I lost out on several hours of mining until I went back in and realized that.

What can be done about this? The server never gets shutoff or logged out, so how can I make sure that the miner stays active? Linux n00b here Smiley

I'm a linux noob too, but I'm using screen before, then detach screen or close session and next time do screen -RD to attach that screen back.
Hope this helps!

Okay good to know. I will try mining again for a few hours and see if i get another payment. It would still be amazing to upgrade the informations you can find on the pool. The pools i have mined on before simply show me: 1. my pending balance 2. my overall payout and 3. my hashrate. Like some other people also pointed out, your pool makes it really difficult to see if you are actually connected, getting shares and what your progress is for a new payment. Thank you for the help and good luck with the projekt.

I am afraid I am not familiar with using native Linux commands in this sort of situation, you are better off if you come into our Discord and speak to some of the guys from the community.

1.-close the miner
2.-type "screen" without quotation marks press enter , appears msg hit spacebar til promp apears again
3.-run the miner again
4.-after 1 or 2 minute that everything is running well press and hold control + A + D (this mean you hold CONTROL and press A key first, now put your finger out of A key and press D key)
5.-type screen -ls for display all screen session in your system could look like this
Code:
here is a screen on:
18215. (02/18/2018 03:55:47 AM) (Attached)

6.- want to back to see the miner running ? type "screen -r"
7.-want to leave the miner running but want to close this windows go to step 4
8.-now the system show you the prompt again and you can close this window if you want.

search in google how screen in linux work for more references.

Update after one night of mining. Shares started to show up for my adress but the pending amount was 0. After mining to 10 ARO again i got paid but the 8.2 ARO that you talked about never appeared.

when you are small miner, your earning balance is growing slowly.. pool shows  earnings in pending balance for last 500 blocks (aprox 33hours), if your earnings are split between more than 500 blocks they looks like they are desapearing (but not true, you had 8.xx), when you reached 10 ARO, all accumulated  earnings was sent to your wallet, hidden or better told not showed earnings also, so you mined lil yesterday or today, you earned +2 more AROs, reached 10 AROs and that is second payment in your wallet that you got today few hours before..

that's your "problem" i suppose.. for one night with 10h/s (8 hours), you could earn max 5/6 AROs aprox if my math is not cheated by some spell Smiley coin is new, more and more interest is coming, so every day difficulty "grows" and naturaly your earning are lower than day or two before.. in last 5 days difficulty for coin got "up" more like 30%-50%

How to fix that?

You need to install the Visual C++ package from Microsoft to enable the miner to work properly.

Hye there,

I've been mining on the pool for a week now (using the Java miner 0.24). I was getting payouts up until 09:00 on the 16th, but since then, zero. My address isn't showing anymore when I search for it on the pool website.

The miner has been reporting the normal hashrate of ~ 12.5H/s and I've had hundreds of shares.

Address is 3zYzeB31FQyfqdn57daTJatSt5TSrqrU5HvK4Zpr82npb2kYpG7JWRQ6iN5UDBCh5mUnfmt7unJCyXk c1Eade7RA.

Any idea what's up?

Leave it with me and I will see what I can find out. Are you positive you have had multiple shares since the 16th of this month?

Yes, loads.  It's been mining solidly.  Just in the last 20 hours I've had 79 shares.

Ok, looking at the figures from your historic shares, I can assure you that every bit of ARO you have earned has been paid to you. Even with 76 shares, you have to remember that a share does not always mean you get a big slice of the cake. Your share may have only contributed to less than 1% of historic, which would explain why it may seem you are not getting paid very much at all for the work you are doing. Whilst we appreciate that this is a community effort, it is beyond our control to say who will earn what on an hourly basis. Believe me when I say, this has been a hot topic of conversation among the ARO council and we are considering ways of giving the smaller, slower miners a little bit of a boost. It's a very difficult one to judge, if we start messing with numbers and the higher hashing miners start noticing a decline in their "earnings" then we essentially just succeed in causing in the higher stakes game.

Essentially we want everyone to be happy, but know this cannot be the case all the time.

Rest assured it is something we are looking into with regards to reward and if we can come up with a short term solution to the "whale" epidemic that would please the majority of the community then I think this is the direction we should consider.

Keep plugging away at those blocks, you never know Smiley

That would make sense, except that I was getting payouts about three times a day until the 16th, then nothing since then, despite no real change in hashrate.

That is:

14th: ~32 tokens
15th: ~31 tokens
16th: 10.3 tokens
17th: 0 tokens
18th: 0 tokens

Has there been a sudden 30+ x increase in combined hashrate?  I'd expect at least to see a slow tail-off.

Other things that have happened: switched to 0.24 of java miner,= and tried the experimental engine.  Could perhaps be either of those?

The PHP idea is great to be honest despite it being a bit slower. Interesting project.

Post more info please.

Hash rate has risen quite sharply from around 60k h/s to around 130kh/s at peak times. It is a little bit off but as far as we can tell there is nothing wrong with your mining/wallet.
