i guess its not a surprise for a fast-food chain adopting a new way of accepting payment if you based it on how much bitcoin achieved as of now! and also probably they wanted to take chances about the rapid change of bitcoin exchange rate, that's one way of investing your profit into a rapid ROI as what i project their means!
I also feel that this is not a surprise because we know KFC is an international company in the field of eating, so now it might be to stay with another company similar to KFC to accept bitcoin as payment.

This is useful for individuals that are lethargic and not had any desire to change their bitcoins into fiats. Yet, Soon, I will endeavor to utilize my bitcoins in requesting and purchasing sustenances for my family. Possibly this is very bravo, however despite everything I wanted to utilize my credit/plastic and my cash in purchasing sustenances. All things considered, Bitcoin's cost is the huge test for KFC on the grounds that it is so unpredictable. Perhaps they have a loads of developers that will program their frameworks step by step.

This will mostly illustrate how completely inferior BTC is a payment method.

-Several orders of magnitude too long of wait times
-Technically complex, with risk of total loss anytime coins are transferred
-No protection or chargebacks (a feature demanded by consumers)
-Unstable value
-No built in ancillary services such as credit
-Public for all the world to see forever

For me that is a good news. Kfc is a big fast food chain and with the move they made could impact or maybe influence other companies and establishments to accept bitcoin as well. I hope one day we will have a lot of choices were to purchase goods. I can't wait for bitcoin to be commonly used and become widely accepted by people around the world.

I already know about this news, I am happy and surprised, that this is a good development for bitcoin and crypto world. and even in some countries that still prohibit bitcoin, some have dared to accept payments with bitcoin.
Its good to hear that news, adoptation and acceptance of bitcoin in many places can be of great help in promoting bitcoin. The fact that
It is fast and easy to use and is accepted as a way of payment make users and investors get attracted to it. The more people who get involved in btc, the more it becomes popular.

if this is true that means digital currency is taking over the economy of the world gradually. it is going to be great if all stores can accept transactions via digital currencies.

Personally, I'm not yet ready to make purchases for bitcoin and other crypto-currencies.  Since they are of more value to me than fiat.  When the volatility of the market will become less, I can make purchases for the currency, and do not worry that any purchase will be more expensive.

Good news for bitcoin. KFC's acceptance of bitcoin will certainly boost its development. KFC is a large food company not only distributed in one country but also distributed in many countries. This makes it more realistic for human life.

Fast food chicken franchise KFC will now allows customers in Canada to pay for a bucket meal using Bitcoin. According to KFC’s Canadian website the fast food chain will, for a limited time, offer customers the opportunity to purchase the Bitcoin bucket. This bucket will include 10 original recipe tenders, waffle fries, a medium side, a medium gravy and 2 dips - all for $20 (approximately R198).Bitcoin has seen a turbulent year so far with the cryptocurrency behaving erratically after a major dip in its value toward the end of 2017.

Check out my YouTube video where I dive more in depth : BREAKING NEWS KFC is now accepting Bitcoin, and Smart contracts might be legally binding!

Is this just a bucket of chicken, or a bucket of publicity stunts?

You will be able to buy a bucket of chicken in Select Canada KFC's. However you will have to order it online using Bitpay, and have it shipped to you.

Cost : Around $20 + $5 shipping + Taxes + Any other blockchain fees

What do you guys think about it?

A lot of fees thou, if i pay that way i dont like it i would just go at near kfc and will eat there. Because its lot of fees i would rather pay fare in bus  i think i will pay less. But if the fees is not so high maybe i will buy my bitcoin for the chicken of KFC:)

I think this is an advertising form of KFC. The franchise chain of fastfood franchises in Canada, has announced the acceptance of payment by Bitcoin. However, this is only applicable for a limited time and is part of the promotion of this company.

In fact, users can not go directly to KFC addresses in Canada, eat and pay at electronic checkout counters. Instead, the company will use an online payment site that accepts Bitcoin from BitPay wallets. It can be seen that bitcoin is being accepted and used by the world. In addition, the company is considering and may accept other types of electronic money.

That is a good news that KFC is now accepting Bitcoin as a payment method I think it is a good marketing scheme for both KFC and not just Bitcoin but the whole crypto currency world.  I also hope more and more companies and establishments follow this huge step of KFC to be able to adapt on the digital currency era. I would love to spend a part of my Bitcoin for a finger licking good treat for my family. Smiley

It was a temporary promotional offer, which is no longer active. Imagine paying $40 as transaction fee for purchasing a KFC bucket worth just $10. How many people do you think would go for it?

Its a good thing that KFC accepting bitcoins to pay. But think about the fees its expensive. I rather go there to eat than paying $40 for transactions only.
