Hi All,
Noob here  Smiley.  I've had a few stones in my wallet since Jan 19 (plus added more every few days since), but I see none in 'stake' yet, am I just being impatient?

I love these stones btw  Grin

Oh and my wallet is unlocked and I let it synchronise every day.

Cheers

I compiled and the wallet is on the current block, but when I try to mine it, it says it is still downloading the blockchain(no CPU use now and been idle for a while).
Maybe something on my side, but haven't had this issue before.

So true, for SEO we need more links into all the PHS sites to go up in the rankings of course, and Philosopher Stone search is going to pull up the movie - Just the way it is. That said with more links we could increase SEO so if you have the ability, link to all things PHS.
I'm looking in to it. Bear in mind that the main PHS site itself should be optimized too. In fact, that should be your goal nr 1. Clean layouts, easy to read, a bit of SEO and that'll be a great step  Wink

Introducing Alchemist: The Philosopherstone Monitoring Tool (By Molitor)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=446260.0

This is considered third party for now (although if well received some of this functionality may be introduced into standard client later).

*Note Alchemist is closed source,  so please use good judgement (lock and backup wallet or use another wallet, Molitor has a good rep).

any problems or questions with this beta please refer to:

Hi,

I will also send a PM, if looks like all those transactions are in a row, which would look like a small fork off the main chain. Will have to try to recreate this on testnet. the transactions in and stones in that are on the main blockchain will still belong to you when you return to the main chain (and stake for larger amounts then). It also seems like you have very many stakes?  Is this an older wallet where this is typical? There may be some issue with such a high amount of dust. Will send PM to resolve.

Grin  Cheesy MY LOST STONES ARE BACK AGAIN !!!

1. I made a backup of my wallet.dat
2. I deleted the "/.Philosopherstone/" (Linux) folder
3. I run my wallet to create a new "/.Philosopherstone/" folder and waited for comlete synchronization
4. then "Stake:" showed "0 PHS" and the 1281 stones that were shown in "stake" before seemed to be lost.
5. I restarted the wallet with the command ./philosopherstone-qt -salvagewallet
6. And all my stones are back again!

I spoke with upstream developer on this issue, and in a rare case it is indeed possible to PoS before full sync in a sort of "offline" mode. Quick fix is of course encrypt wallet and unlock when you are ready. I am very happy you have your stones and can get back to staking! Also I put a quick patch on git with a checkpoint in case you needed it, (yesterday) but seems this has resolved.  I'll see if there is a easy way to remedy this bug in code.

Also wonder if wallet or chain was corrupted - this issue happened on explorer recently, a new chain fixed it right up.

~
In other news, I also patched walletnotify into main.

Hello guys, I have a problem
My wallet had 2 incoming transactions (received not minted) totaling 5000 phs. Now I was stupid enough to not backup my wallet and suddenly the deamon gives 'error reading wallet', maybe due to repeated power outs. I erased the blockchain and restarted deamon to start over, it worked until some height then gave the same error. pywallet gives me a bad tx in wallet.
So what I did is erase blockchain, start deamon and 'listreceivedbyaddress', which gave me only on address that received 5000.
I dumped that private key, moved away the wallet and started a fresh installation. It worked great, but of course with 0 balance.
Now after sync, I imported that key into new wallet, wondering if I would get my 5000 only, or also my minted pos on these (they were about 3 months old, before problem they had created some 500+ pos.
I was prepared of course to loose those 500 stones.

The weird thing is that after importing the key, my balance was around 4500  Huh and right away they started to create some small pos blocks.

How can this be?

Thanks
Sy

Power loss is very bad for any type of app, especially if it corrupts a DB.  I know someone who went to send a large some of coins from p2pool mining and of course it lagged the client a bit so he would just ctrl-alt-delete or turn the pc off.. ya don't do that. Maybe get a UPS or rent a cheap VPS that never losses power if that's a constant issue.

The stake will generate to the same address as the input, So not sure why you would lose it (moving keys from a dead wallet would bring them back, unless they were orphans) Just check your address(s) (inputs) in explorer to see if they match the wallet, they should, but post back if you see things on explorer and not in your wallet (stakes).

backup often

Wow!!!!  I haven't seen the stone price this low b4.  I'm noticing people come and go.  That wallet bug isn't helping. If our community was half of DOGE, we would be over $1.  What are the plans for promotions?   Are we out of funds for promotions?   Looks like miners are dumping and bringing the price down and down and down.

The drop is painful, but consider this, even though it's down maybe 60% from all-time highs, it's still up ~5000% from all-time lows.

As far as promotions, I suggested Palmdetroit give away a Veyron, but sadly, there never were any funds, and now he's stuck driving it. But it's never too late to donate.

Unfortunately, where I live I have to cope with power loss regularly, once a day is a usual rate Sad. You'd be surprised to know that I live in the capital, a couple of miles from the presidential palace of Egypt.
Linux has done me good, it handles such situation much better than the alternatives Smiley, but I think I do need some gigantic hand made UPS.
Anyway, I followed your advice and checked the explorer and nailed it. I have my balance back Cheesy.
The problem was that I made one send operation of 10 stones, for testing when cryptsy was on fork. This transaction took a pos block of 1012.xx, sent 10, and returned the 1002.x to some new address. I am not sure why, maybe something related to coin day calculation.
I loaded my old wallet, dumped this new key and imported into new wallet. Everything is good.
I backed up this new wallet of course Wink

Many thanks Palmdetroit.

I would have expected much more from India. It's the world's largest democracy and has the third largest economy, and PHS is an epic flop. Check it: India 41, Belarus 41, Ukraine 158.

Japan's also stands out: Japan 25, Argentina 27, New Zealand 28, China 1747.

There's relative strength in Eastern Europe, which is cool. There must be a strong regional cultural appear?

And the Android version is doing way better than I would have expected...  Huh
