Our country just recently held a seminar introducing bitcoin in our country. The said seminar were facilitated
by bitcoin experts and government officials in pursuit of using bitcoin as another form of payment and regulation of it as well.

It is a great news!  Philippines is now accepting bitcoin and they also conduct seminars regarding bitcoin. We must be thankful because Philippines is now adopting this kind of business. It will gives lots of opportunities to all Filipinos who wants to invest.

Yes you are right, it is a very great opportunity and we are thankful for the government and the central bank to support this new digital currency.  This seminar will help the Filipinos to understand bitcoin and the benefits of this new technology before getting on board and invest their wealth on bitcoins.

I sincerely hope that this story is true, not just a mere omission, which we know is that the Philippines is a very small country even since the Philippines is led by Rodrigo Duterte, the country's economy is very good even far from the previous leader, hopefully this news is true ..

The use of bitcoin for alternative remittances is being explored by many in the Philippines. The Philippines has an enormous money transfer market, where the emigrant population of the country sends many of its funds back to their families. Unlike conventional cross-border transfers, bitcoin transfers only cost less as transaction costs. In addition, money transfer via bitcoin is faster than any other mode out there.

The remittance industry based on Bitcoin in the Philippines now has several players offering their services to the public. The highly reputable Bitcoin-based money transfer platform is called "Rebittace Platform", a combination of two words - Money Transfer and Bitcoin .Citcoins can be used like cellular money to pay for goods and services, provided by the merchants who receive them.

Yes, Philippines started to recognize bitcoin.  When the news regarding the Baacoor unemployed dad became millionaire because of his engagement in bitcoin, it spreads a ray of hope to the Filipino citizen.

Unfortunately, there are also some news spread in Philippine television who take advantage of bitcoin fame and use it to scam people.

On the other hand, those news like this will alter those bad news that damage bitcoin reputation made by bad people who only want to scam other people.

As a Filipino citizen, if bitcoin will be legalize on the Philippines, for sure, I am one of million beneficiaries of it.

As far as I know the use of bitcoin is already legalized in the Philippines. And there are only two exchanges that have been approved by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas as well as the Securities and exchange commission to continue such trade. There are already KYC and AML regulations and other policies being sent to those exchanges to comply.  You can do some research on google so you can see that bitcoin is already legal in the Philippines but this is released with a warning from BSP that investing in bitcoins will be subjected to volatility and is very risky.

Glad to know that  Philippines is one of the bitcoin supporters. Philippines as usual is one of the countries who Filipinos are spending their time on internet than others. Bitcoin business can be good to filipinos who are always spending their time on the internet. Bitcoin would be a very good platform for them to spend their time with.

It is good that the different nations of the earth begin to receive and adopt the crypto currency. It is a complement to the fiat system and it helps to decentralise the concept of aggregating financial contracts.
Go Philippines.

For me that is a good news and a bit alarming. Philippines is known to have a corrupt government and I am afraid that the officials will find a way to corrupt bitcoin as well. With Philippines starting to accept bitcoin I am afraid of the fees and the government being able to implement tax. Overall it is a good news and maybe I am just thinking too much on the negative effects this may bring.

It is a good thing that philippines has been accepting Bitcoin. Knowing that it would provide jobs for Filipino who wanted to have more than they expected or for those who just needed a job, Bitcoin would be a great answer for those questions. But in the same manner it would be a threat producing more cryptocurencies than our own currency. Yet, as far I have seen and experience, it is a great chance to earn money.

There most have been more seminar going on in your country,  but you never knew about it, even under developed countries hold seminars about bitcoin and the blockchain every week,  sometimes everyday. Am 100% sure that bitcoin did not just come into philliphine but has always been just that it's is presently you realised that seminar is being carried out to enlighten people on the technology.

The seminar in Manila in January was far too expensive. It was basically a party for the rich.

Exactly. It was just a seminar being hyped by I don't know?

Actually this article, thread title and content is a bit misleading. It's not the government that held a seminar about cryptocurrency but it's just a bunch of people who wants to organize it for whatever reason they have. Most of the time seminars are being held to advertise something, I'm not sure, but probably this one is another way to do it, like how the networkers do it, hiding the real reason behind.

I think If Bitcoin will spread through Philippine poverty and unemployment rate may decrease. I am very happy to read this news. Hopefully, the Government of another country can imitate the Government of the Philippines.
