Wow HBN's price is right in my strike zone right now. TEK is a bit high, CAP is a bit high (don't know where it will stabilize), and HBN is low. HBN is the only coin I am actively buying right now. I try to send a good 50-250 HBN to my wallet everyday. And spreading out my buying over days/weeks allows me to not have to worry about timing my buys at the exact right time.
Agree. The HBN charts fro Jan-May have been some of the healthiest of all the cryptos with slow smooth growth. I think this current dip is transitory due to a few factors like rising BTC, DRK mania and CAPs revitalization, and represents a great time to buy in. HBN has just been rising in price for months now. This is the first decent chance to buy in ages.

The blockchain takes days to catch up. It's a bit of a problem for a pos coin.
The only computer I had take days was the Pi. A modern fast computer takes about 5-7 hours. A slower machine can at 12+. If it seems like the chain is stalled while downloading, sometimes 1 restart of the gui can help.

It is a bit less secure, but you can always externally download the chain. http://wiki.hobonickels.info/index.php?title=Replace_Blockchain

Boo. I looked at my trade history and I have been buying almost daily with my BTC from mining. I bought at .00044! =( Wish I had waited on that chunk and used it to buy at .000165 like it's at now.
Man I hope when the dust settles we come out big time.

I want more BTC to invest. My issue is constant checking of my progress. I convert HBN to BTC and see a huge loss but have to force myself to not jump ship.

Sometimes it takes a bit of capitulation before the market makes a new surge forward. Buying right before a crash or selling right before a rally can take a toll on ones psyche. Make a trading plan and stick with it. Sell 50% of your interest and start to recoup your initial investment. While still holding the base and continuing to accumulate more!

I have some 'generated but not accepted' messages of failed staking. Is there a way to remove those, or set to invisible or something? They are so annoying by taking up all the space in recent transactions. thnx never mind, I tried repair wallet, which fixed it

Tranz, a feature request:
"Stacked this month":
My goal is to sell 25% of my staking every month. But calculating this is not easy since you get several stakings very fast. the "Stacked this month" entry would isolate stacking from 1st of month to end of month (technically, not exactly 30 days, but easier to handle). From there, I could easily calculate 25% of it.
Improvement: replace "Stacked this month" with "Stacked this period" and let the user choose the start and stop date.
This would continue to make the HBN wallet one of the best! Thank you
(presstab, if you can do this for TEK, I'd be happy too)

This got me thinking. In the MultiBit BTC client you can export you transaction list to .csv - But you can't filter your transaction list in the HBN client you can select "This Week" "This Month" or Date Range etc. and filter transaction type... But you can't C&P or export the entire transaction list. Even if you select all the transactions it will only copy the first date cell. Would be a handy feature and having a sub total box for coin flow in the selected period might be the icing? David I believe you can use stakeforcharity to siphon off a percentage of your stakes to another address but that might not do exactly what you are looking for. **EDIT hahaha wow well I never did see that button hiding up there ... talk about selective blindness.

Hey David, you already have the option of choosing the time frame of the period. You should have predefined ranges of "All", "Today", "This Week", "This Month", "Last Month", "This Year" and finally "Range..." witch enables a selecting calendar And from there it's easy to export that list to a spreadsheet and do your calcs, you can remove the orphans before exporting or use a formula on the spreadsheet for not including the orphans in your calculations. EDIT: yes stakeforcharity could be a way of doing it. Just know that - you can only send MAX 50% of each stake to a specified address.
- You can setup only one receiving address per wallet (.dat file)
- you have to setup stakeforcharity on every wallet startup (maybe this could be improve to be "shutdown resistent" but it might be tricky to do for security reasons.)
- stakeforcharity will send the percentage defined right after a successful stake has been confirmed and matured. So you need to have it configured before your coins stake or it will not send the defined percentage (it makes senses but still good to clarify out). So you need to remember to always check if it is active (especially if you open/close your client often)

Difficulty has risen from 8 to 17 within the last 12 hours or so, while the price has been slightly declining. Litecoin hashing power has not changed during the same time, so no influx of ASICs. This is not normal. Any thoughts about this? Is it more likely some kind of attack or is it an individual with lots of hashing power, who wants to earn Hobonickels via Mining instead of buying?

Hmm good observation. PoW attacks are probably hard to accomplish on HBN. First of all PoS/PoW hybrid adds an extra layer of security. Also the PoW diff adjusts every block, so it isn't going to be as easy for someone to come hash out a lot of blocks quick. Hard to know why such a quick and large rise in hash rate.
