My client states that I am on block 710119. However http://tek.blockchain.lt/ says Tek is on block 710093. Is this due to the website uploading slower than the client or should I be worried? Those numbers are fairly close.

My client is not currently loaded, however if you are running the current version (2.2) it's automatic checkpointing will correct it in short order if you are on the wrong fork. Or at least it should. It's possible that the block explorer is behind, but it has been pretty accurate of late.

To sync with bootstrap.dat:

1. Delete old blockchain files and peers.dat
2. Unzip bootstrap.dat to the data directory.
3. create a tekcoin.conf and add

4. Start the wallet. It will import blockchain from bootstrap.dat (will take some time, about 2 hours I think).

And I think the 40% need to be reduce , look at ppc pays 1% and still many followers and price is in good range , I think tek is better . A massive rate drop would leave me no reason to keep it.
If the mutipool is unable to stabilize the price, maybe some service should be looked at that burns up tekcoins in return for some type of service, that way it is the user option.

There is no way for any product to add 40% value every month , so the coin price will continue to fall every month, the only way out is to find something that burns off excess coins to keep the numbers down.
Some thing that burns up or consumes coins all of the time.
If Tekcoins could be burned for heat in the winter or eaten by something , that would be an answer that would work.

OR if tekcoins could be used up to make another rarer coin with a - interest rate, but the only way this new rarercoin (AntiTekcoin) , could be made is by consuming 1000's of tekcoins.
That way you always need new tek to keep the other coin alive and never have to lower the 40% rate.
Plus the other coin always increases in value, because it negative interest rate is always lessening it supply.  

 

Edit:
If you could also keep both in 1 wallet and both running on your tekcoin network, you would have something unique in the coin world, a High POS coin along with a Rare Negative POS Coin.
Just the wording alone should get some free marketing.

I think that Casino is good Idea... but I do not agree with making less coins.. The demand is here for 40% stake.. We just need to promote it like the Virtual Mining Accet VS Cloud mining
I think that price drop is normal when supply is high.. so there is nithing wrong with that.. you need to realize WHY YOU have to buy?! Because you need more hashrate to keep up with price drop and get the same amount in USD at the end... and you will buy when the price will suit you.  I just think its not low enough for massive BUY.. what happened at HYP market - it found its support now

you could take the stake rate to zero, if you dont bring in new people and money through promotion then price will still keep falling. My stance is the rate is fine, promotion is lacking.

I sit on the most active exchanges and rarely see anyone mention TEK, i keep bringing it up everyday but more would be merrier.  We need more people plugging TEK each day, it could be very effective marketing at cryptsy and poloniex, chat bats see that TEK has tons of users promoting,explaining,hyping it.

If you study PPC price graph, they too are down greatly from last year, as are many mature coins. Everyone's fighting for mindshare, and sentiment seems to favour short-term profits -- look how much money has piled into XPY. TEK is a long-term investor's coin, and I think we need to really emphasize that.

Assets we have are maturity of the coin, relative rarity, a good wallet (now), honest and committed developer, a loyal core group of investors, and of course the unique and attractive staking reward.

Problems we have might be attributed to the general depression of crypto-currencies, our relative obscurity, low liquidity and utility, a smallish community, almost no promotion, and competition from other high-stake coins. Though, the latter might be an asset. (TEK, being the first high-stake coin, was often accused of being distructively inflationary.)  Also, I believe the risks and general complexity of managing a staking wallet are scaring away many non-technical investors . Perhaps an Electrum-like, easy-to-use wallet for desktop and mobile would lower the barrier of entry. Partnering with a coin processor may encourage further trade.

Above all, I think it imperative that we don't make drastic changes to the coin in search of quick returns. It will only undermine long-term confidence. The switch to NVCS, while necessary, was clearly disruptive. I believe we still yet have not fully recovered from it. But if we maintain the foundation of TEK, add features where practical, and actively promote our strengths and chip away at the weaknesses, we'll see confidence and participation rise and realize gains in the future. Patience is the key word here, friends. Cheers.

I dont buy becouse someone in the trollbox mentioned it..things must talk for them selfs!
WHY TEKcoin? - it does "virtually" all that "cloud hashing mining contracts" do, but with TEKcoin I hold it all secure + no need to rent or buy hashpower somwhere and trust that it is real.. TEKcoin has the same properties that Bitcoin does.. so its not any different (tecknically) they even share the same sha256 algo.. So then I need place to sell it at any time and buy more if I want.. but dont have to go the centralized way to cloud datacenters, tekcoin also cant be 51% attacked
For me TEKcoin is trading open at exchanges - so it is already at the market
