the letter does not come to the specified e-mail if it's not you, it means good hacker took pity on me)))
Lol, why would a hacker do that. In my eyes, your account was never hacked. Anyway glad you have your account back; change your password and put on 2FA. I've got no idea what this one is on about. None of it makes any sense. If 2FA is not on you need an email confirmation to change the password or withdrawal address, so none of the things he says are possible. I think the basic principle of Signing a message is going over his head. Most users of this site has no idea how to sign a Bitcoin address and you can explain until you are blue in the face. A lot of them are using wallet and exchange services that do not allow for the signing of the addresses, so you will never get a signed address from them. Hope that clears things up. Message signing is an extremely difficult process for most people. I remember a few years ago I sold something and I wanted to reconfirm the address for the BTC i was sent. So I asked the sender to sign a copy of the source BTC address with the address where they want their GPU shipped. It took a few days and instead of sending me the code for the message, he sends me the private key instead. Luckily there wasn't much BTC in that wallet and I told him to send it to a new BTC address immediately since sending private keys over email is never secure.

He might have initiated a Password change after they hacked his account and then regained control of his Freebitco.in account or the hacker left the password unchanged and just changed the Bitcoin address to re-direct the funds and then left.
This conversation switched to the other thread for some reason. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=319540.msg40513537#msg40513537tl:dr Use a strong unique password. Use 2FA. Don't ignore the warning about your emails bouncing.

is the site down again? I'm getting error 520 on the console I can open just fine from my bookmark but can't make free roll (keep rolling) and I notice the stats page, appearance slightly changed recently, is not showing any stats at all now then if I reload the page, it goes to mirror login page hosted by cloudflare the site is acting strangely for me, or at least on my side

Yeah, I'm getting the same error and issue as of a few minutes ago. Times like this make me think I should move everything to a hardware wallet permanently and not even bother with the 4.08% interest...

I was able to connect to it and do my rolls, but it seemed very glitchy, things didn't seem to update properly. And as of a few minutes ago, I can't even login anymore, the site is unresponsive for me. Can someone from freebitco.in chime in? Hopefully this is a known issue, our balances are fine, etc. Would be nice to hear. It's been quite a few hours now.

I can't be here 24/7. I've emailed wetsuit and I'll update when I hear back. Seriously? You worry about your balance when there is a small technical glitch? Edit: It looks like a hardware level problem, he's working on it.

yes, the site is running erratically, for both free rolls and multiply btc I'm getting a lot 'request timed out' messages when playing multiply btc Edit: It looks like a hardware level problem, he's working on it.
good... once the problem is known, we just need to wait for it to be fixed it's weekend soon, expect a lot complains coming out here if not fixed by saturday

It's cute people expect instant replies while forgetting that the people behind freebitco are humans only, these days there seems to be no patience whatsoever. Looks like they have finally fixed it and just in time can't even imagine if it had been a Saturday people would have gone beserk, a snitch in time saves nine will test it now in a while, hopefully no more complaints.

Great news! Wasn't able to access the site several hours ago, but right now it's working perfectly. I wasn't even asked to solve captcha before free roll (which I encounter with during last several days). I haven't checked your stats for a while. Wow! 14,320,745 of registered users. 15,000 sign ups in the last 10 days! You, guys, are really doing good. I'm wondering why there are no ads anywhere on the site? Surely there are enough visitors each day to be a tempting piece for advertisers.

The ads were removed about a year or two ago. I don't think they were making very much though. I think mostly there's an issue that a lot of the adverts probably came from other faucets or casinos so that might turn people away from freebitco.in (not sure though). I also think they used to charge $0.15 per 1000 impressions - it might have been a bit higher though like 1000000 instead of 1000. @TheQuin, could you get wetsuit to put ads on freedoge.co.in to try to get the minimum reward up as 0.17 doge is a bit on the low side.

The low income from advertising on incentivised sites is one reason and the other is that most of the adverts are for things that look quite scammy and we don't want to be associated with them.

Ah yes, there were quite a lot of ponzis that used to get advertised there (there were ads for legitimate stuff like coinbase and other exchanges though). Maybe, if you tried doing an auction here for a months' worth of adverts you'd get rid of ponzi scammers as they won't plan on their scheme lasting that long.

I don't think advertising fits in with the future direction we have planned. The rebrand is about taking 'free' out of the name and making it primarily a gambling and exchange site. Adverts make it look more like just a faucet site.

What about the doge site? Any plans for that, are the two going to merge?

The plan is to merge... eventually after we work out how to do it. So the rebrand and adding other coins comes first then Doge later.

any hint on what new contest we're gonna have this upcoming month? I got the feeling it's related to multiply btc... something like prize reward for winning with 1% chance, hitting roll 7777, and etc
