Me and Bachmann and a few other CAT users have that problem with having gains on CAT but portfolio value goes down.... i think to trade just in agressiv mode is a dangerous game. I need also a better strategy cause I lost coins

Can anyone help with starter settings and strategy? I only set a buy order, not a sell order....should I set both or will CAT run well with just a buy order set?
What about the other settings? A good lesson on CAT strategy beyond what is posted on the 1st page would be golden....

Current problem is a great General market devaluation. I have lost 2 BTC (on Cryptsy) without do nothing. A lot of coin have dropped over 50% values (Dem was @ 0.00008000 now is @ 0.00001800). I hope that there will be a positive revaluation in the next weeks. C.A.T. can't do miracles, i hope this is obvious for everyone.

Thats absolut the point why CAT should run on btc-e. When bitcoin devaluates all the alt coins go down, in these cases it would be very helpfull if we all could save the coins in Fiat and then buy coins when they are on the ground before they have an upswing.
Do you have an exclusiv deal with cryptsy/Big Vern Or would it be possible to trade with CAT on a different exchange?

No no, i'm an endependent programmer. I haven't get 0.00000001 From Cryptsy. But to fully interface C.A.T. with BTC-e it requires a lot of work..........and if i ask a little donations (and i will ensure the interface with btc-e) i'm sure people won't give me any support

I believe that CAT user will support and donate at the point where they can see a plus in there estimated portfolio value (i understand that CAT is not the factor why that didnt happen in this devaluation period)
I also believe that a CAT which run different exchanges will get you more BTC/copy

My balance on Cryptsy has been fluctuating between 1.84 and 1.9 BTC, when I started at 2.04 BTC about 2 hours ago. My CAT shows some gains in the meantime, and my CAT balance shows ~2.03 BTC. Why is there such a discrepancy?
Which is accurate? Did I really lose ~8-10% of my BTC in just a couple hours? Is it because I am trading risky high volume coins like lotto and infinity? Would this have happened if I stuck with the more conservative coins only?

Estimated portfolio value is very fluctuating, but remember that your REAL portfolio value, if you sell ALL at the same time, you will get something like 60% of the Estemated portfolio values.
I Mean, If you have 10 Estimated, and you sell ALL, you will get 6 BTC (maybe less)

So is the market really bad this afternoon? If I sold all now, you're saying I might only have 0.6*1.86 = 1.11 BTC out of my starting 2.04 BTC ---- did I really lose almost 1 BTC in just a few hours running CAT?

No no no, it's not C.A.T. fault! 1 - Market Devaluation has nothing to do with C.A.T. (you can avoid only not to have Alternative CC, but if all Alternative CC starts growth and you have only BTC you will stay frozen to watch........) 2 - Estimated portfolio value is based on Last Trade. Let's do a real Example : BTC/XXX Last Trade of this market is a SELL @ 0.01 You have 100 XXX so Estimated Portfolio Value is 100 * 0.01 = 1 Current BUY queue is : Buy 20 @ 0.009 Buy 10 @ 0.008 Buy 10 @ 0.007 Buy 10 @ 0.006 Buy 10 @ 0.005 Buy 10 @ 0.004 Buy 10 @ 0.003 Buy 10 @ 0.002 Buy 10 @ 0.001 You Sell ALL (100), you think to convert XXX -> BTC and get 1 BTC. But you will get this : 20 x 0.009 + 10 x 0.008 + 10 @ 0.007 + 10 @ 0.006 + 10 @ 0.005 + 10 @ 0.004 + 10 @ 0.003 + 10 @ 0.002 + 10 @ 0.001 = 0.18 + 0.08 + 0.07 + 0.06 + 0.05 + 0.04 + 0.03 + 0.02 + 0.01 = 0.54 Estimated (1) - Real (0.54) = 0.46 Less Than What You think

Thanks for the example, Sampey!
I'm pretty concerned, though, because my account is now 1.66 BTC when it started at 2.04 BTC just ~4 hours ago.
Why does my CAT balance list at ~2.04 BTC (and I have refreshed it many times) while my official Cryptsy balance fluctuates between ~1.66 to 1.75 BTC?

Sampey, any chance you could add an option when a ping-pong is complete to send a Growl (GNTP) notification? Since there are Growl apps for pretty much all platforms, including mobile, it might be a neat feature to offer. There are Java libs you already built, so it shouldn't be too much to implement, you can find them here: http://www.growlforwindows.com/gfw/developers.aspx

C.A.T. balance is only a Math conversion of your Amount (in the C.A.T. guide there's the formula) into BTC. I don't know if Cryptsy Portfolio value works in different way

CAT would just send the notification to an ip address. So the user could be running growl for android, or prowl on ios and get the notification there too. On the pc the idea would be that you would get a popup something like this (not my video, just found it on youtube) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM400EDve2s
