First of all, you must be very careful and do not go to wallets and exchanges from phishing links.  I also advise you to buy a separate laptop for working with crypto currency.  With this device, you should not go anywhere else, except exchanges and purses.

You should not store data on your computer ...store on portable devices

Store the coins on the exchange will not be more reliable than the coins to store on a cold purse and the keys to the purses on the flash drive.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?
Anything on the web are vulnerable on hackers attack. This includes tokens and coins in our online wallets. But to get rid of it take some safety measures for yourself, first,  don’t ever entertain any email that contains links that maybe a phising site and also never ever let your private key known by other users or leave it unattended ( posting it in any thread or put it in wallet address box).
it's easy to keep the coins we have will be very easy with us holding them. because by holding can securing the coins that we have to be a coin that can we rely on the future. besides these few endings I see the development of the coin as it increases with being held. this proves that the premises hold very well to help keep the coins.

The increasingly crypto development and the increasing income that can be obtained from crypto will make hackers more and more incentive to steal the investment assets of the crypto community. We have to increase our vigilance against hackers who are increasingly spreading everywhere. Simple things we can do is start from ourselves to tidy up our personal data and store it to a safe and reliable place or tool, storing all crypto secret data into hardware or software that is not connected to the internet connection, antivirus updates for our personal PCs, always clean up history, do not link any sites other than sites that are important to what we're doing when we're online with our wallet or account, and keep data confidential from the people around.

Do not login to websites that you do not understand, and do not open files shared by strangers at will! Do not download software on strange websites! Do not share your privacy freely!

hardwallet is the best option right now to avoid phishing and other things, get used to not doing careless downloads and make sure the official url checks for every browsing activity. which keeps our assets safe is our own behavior, the exchange wallet is still reliable to date, but not 100% safe.

One of the most reliable options for protecting altcoins is to keep them on a cold wallet that is installed on a computer that does not have access to the Internet.

There is no surefire method except storing coins offline. Anything that is connected to the internet is vulnerable, so it's best to go with hardware wallets or paper wallets to protect your coins.

the most simple way is don't store your private keys in your email or computer. The most safe ways is using a hardware wallet if you have one, which is the most secured, add some metamask extension

There have been many cases where people lost access to their flash drives or hard disks. Therefore, this is also not the most reliable option.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?

I would say this if you can afford to lose it at any moment, don't worry.
If you really don't want to lose it, secure it (your altcoins) with an air gap device like Ledger or Trezor

Use only authorized wallets to store your coins, using wallets that are not approved could mean that you would end up losing your coins to a phishing scam. Also protect the private keys and passwords to the wallet where you store your altcoins. Never store them online, make sure that they are written down in a place where you are the only one that can get to them.

Aside from that wallet we may nano ledger wallet wherein we can save our altcoin in ethereum wallet. Their are still ways to keep safe our coins and it is our responsibility to do so.

What is the best methods to protect altcoin from hacker?
If you are using MyEtherWallet.com ( MEW ). I advise you to read their safety tips. You can check it out when you visit the site. You can protect your funds by keeping your private key because that was the key to access your MEW. Which is very important, so don't gave it to others and also don't loss it. Why ? if you loss your MEW private key, means that you can no longer access to your account and it was time to say good bye to your altcoins. So be careful.

We want to keep our Altcoin safety, we don't let others know or we must keep our private key and password in a safety place so that it will not hacks from others.

Clear all the history on your computer every week or so. This will higher your chances that you aren't getting phished or key logged. I would also invest in anti-virus as well as hardware wallets that disconnect your private keys from your computer. Having all these things should be ample for security.
I also clean my computer every week. Prevent hackers from stealing data. But I think anti-virus software can't be trusted. So I just open it when cleaning. My private keys are all placed in a USB flash drive. Because the money is on the exchange. ~~~ Haha.

Keep them in a cold wallet. The main thing is not using cloud services to store passwords, they are often hacked. Also it is necessary to not  store your coins on stock exchanges.

Desktop wallets are  much better options in terms of security. Desktop wallets are downloaded and installed on a single PC or laptop and they are only accessible from that one device where it was downloaded. However, while it is a safer alternative than an online wallet, it can still be very inconvenient because you will not get access to your money unless you are on the device from which you downloaded the wallet.
