i have a question about passwords. If you have a weak password your coins will be stolen, because of the rainbowtable guys. But isn't it true that when these rainbow guys try to bruteforce an account. And every time they enter a non-existing passwords then each time a new account is created within next?
So if you create a new account with a weak password you probably access an already created account which was bruteforced earlier. There are ofcourse no coins in these accounts so you think they are new. Is there no way to signal that you are entering an already existing account? So you know that you should not send coins to this 'new' account
if you open in already used account you will see transactions

You gotta fly fast and high to reach top miners Total: Fee earned 701996 NXT 6483973064837388393 has mined 163299 NXT. The 2nd is 4747512364439223888 with 101830 NXT. In the table below is the top "miners" and their cumulative NXT amount and cumulative percentages. In the forum was yesterday a nxt balance distribution: top100 has 82.7% https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=345619.msg5034054#msg5034054 In mining/forging the distribution is worse: 4 accounts have mined 56.7%, 28 accounts have mined 90%, and 98 accounts 99% and 400 accounts 100%. Fee Earned % TOP accounts cumulative cumul. 163163 23.2 6483973064837388393 253458 36.1 4747512364439223888 334469 47.6 12692935506199079028 398066 56.7 9433259657262176905 433008 61.7 2159498187382012684 458350 65.3 2584657662098653454 480373 68.4 501797 71.5 516684 73.6 528616 75.3 540357 77.0 551740 78.6 562741 80.2 571905 81.5 579116 82.5 585703 83.4 591579 84.3 597233 85.1 602481 85.8 606923 86.5 610916 87.0 614900 87.6 618815 88.2 622026 88.6 625180 89.1 628267 89.5 631337 89.9 634377 90.4 Is that 6483973064837388393 some special account? it has had at maximum ~ 3 Million NXT, but it has earned fees almost double than those 50 Million's accounts. Yeah, I've seen! so we need as much possible NXT to forge continued. So far are two empty blocks, yesterday.

I recall this was mentioned way back when alias-system was implemented and the rush for potentially profitable aliases started. For some reason, intentionally or by mistake, someone had set an enormous fee like over 100000 nxt to get just one alias. And one lucky guy, can't remember who it was but one of the active ones here, he was just lucky enough to forge that crazy fee.

0% chance that isnt satire or trolling. No one who wished to be taken seriously would present themselves in such a manner.

Thats not a flaw. How do you prove to the network that you own the stock certificates that you issue an asset for?

What we do need is as many clients as possible forging. This will secure the network, and more importantly improve the bandwidth of the network. Using pools is the wrong direction. I do not think its a good idea to make the effective_balance leaseable. This will only lead to centralization and only a few clients beeing online the whole day. Instead, lets try to built a system were the top X forgers of each block get equally paid out. This should be doable without pools: As transparent forging allows us to determine the next forger, it would also allow us to determine the top X forgers for each block. Have the fee split among them accoring to their 'contribution'. Example: Through Transparent forging, the network knows, that Account A will forge the Block in 30 Seconds Account B could forge in 50 Seconds Account C could forge in 55 Seconds The fee of this Block is 100 Nxt. So A will get 46.5 Nxt, B will get 28 Nxt and C will get 25.5 NXT (rounded). This could be extended to X accounts where X is the number of accounts forging for at least Y blocks in a row. For example, set Y to 5 to have the blocks rewarded forging for at least five blocks. Edit: Added to the proposal page on the wiki. Feel free to discuss, comment, edit there.

I don't really like the idea of Nxt pools either. A simpler option may be to give a higher forging chance multiplier simply for being a unique node. I know the pools can split their stake as much as they want, but they have to pay fees to do so, and for many people it's too much of an administrative hassle to bother.

What we need is as much bandwidth as possible. But we also need this bandwidth to be distributed to as many peers as possible in order to be less dependent on single forgers.
Your idea of diminishing return for multiple Nxt on the same IP is one way to reach that goal. But i think, that each Nxt should have the same forging power. Everything else will result in people feeling betrayed. Also it might be possible to game such a system.
My solution does not garuantee high and distributed bandwidth. But it gives incentive to forge even for smaller balances (of course only possible with fractional NXT).
Of course it is impossible to forbid pooling. But if the protocol would distribute rewards more evenly, they would become obsolete..

Hey NXT'ers, thanks to the kind support of BaiMangal, we can most probably release an ALPHA version of the nxtFreeRider late today on www.quicknxt.com Status is like this: The backend is api implementation is good, but the Use Case implementations have a long way to go. I will put a huge disclaimer onto the mainwindow, explaining that it is alpha software, and that the primary intention of this early release is to provide a fully open source python3/PyQt implementation of the nxt API, and that the use cases that are included will be extended and improved. I have put a massive amount of work into this over the last weeks, but having an api implementaion is one thing, and providing foolproof and watertight user experiences is another task, that just requires a lot of further work to be put into it. In order to maintain momentum and to provide the first fully open sourced python implementation of the nxt api, I'll proceed with the release, and then continue the development with primary focus on the asset exchange.
