FINALLY today I received a new board via OC directly from yxt, now I've taken the old board out and put the new board in after switching over the mini blades and am trying to connect to it using 192.168.1.254:8000 but am unable to do so, I cannot even see the device anywhere in the wired devices section of my router!

Anyone got any advice on what I might be doing wrong here?? My routers subnet is 192.168.1.x

Do I have to flash this new board with some sort of firmware before I can use it to control the mini blades???

Your router isn't 192.168.1.254 is it?  That was an issue I had when initially setting mine up.

Other than that, you might have to do a factory reset... strange though that you could connect with the old cube but not with the new boards.

Nope router is deffo not 192.168.1.254

I'm guna try a factory reset and will let you know if that works!

That seems to have done the trick however the x's have moved

ASIC_01-16: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
ASIC_17-32: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
ASIC_33-48: x x x x x x x x O O O O O O O O
ASIC_49-64: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
ASIC_65-80: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
ASIC_81-96: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O

So I re-arranged the mini blades once again and the x's moved again, so I must have a faulty mini blade now which is rather annoying!

ASIC_01-16: x x x x x x x x O O O O O O O O
ASIC_17-32: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
ASIC_33-48: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
ASIC_49-64: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
ASIC_65-80: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O
ASIC_81-96: O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O O

I received the replacement mini blade this morning and have replaced the faulty blade in my cube and it's all up and running now with no more x's but for some strange reason I cannot seem to get it functioning properly in High Clock mode!

Every time I try and switch to overclocked mode the cube starts loosing it's hashrate and efficiency till it functions no more and I'm left with all x's at which point I have to restart the machine to get it hashing again only in low clock mode, can anyone suggest what might be going wrong here?

Anyone able to offer me any advise on this?

Further info on my setup is as follows:

1 Corsair CX600 PSU
1 Win 7 64bit about a year old Laptop acting as the proxy WIRED to a netgear router

PSU is fine so its just unlucky. Although, are you using two PCI-E cables from DIFFERENT strands of cables?

Hey all,

Here is my current setup:
2x ASICMiner Cubes
1x Thermaltake 850W 80 PLUS Bronze (70A 12v rail) (http://amzn.com/B007BDJ58C)

I can't seem to get my cubes to consistently hash faster than ~28Gh/s...
I've been running these for about 1.5 months now, but using the HIGH clock mode doesn't seem to result in any change in hash rate at all. They are hashing great, with no X's on LOW or HIGH mode, but I'm feeling kinda bummed that the HIGH clock doesn't make ANY difference.

The PSU has plenty of power for both of these Cubes and I have also taken the cubes apart and made sure all the heatsink screws were tight. (One of the cubes had a fan that started rattling recently, so I replaced it with this (Bgears b-Blaster 120mm 2 Ball Bearing - up to 103 CFM airflow) (http://amzn.com/B0043GKY1W), which pushes a fair amount more air through the cube than the stock fan... and yet, hash rates still stay the same on both LOW and HIGH...

I'm just looking for some ideas as to if I just have to live with the lower than quoted hash rates, or if there is something that I can do to get the HIGH mode hashing at the faster rates.

Thanks in advance.

Edit:
Switched from 'mining_proxy.exe' to bfgminer, and seems to be much happier now (getting 33-36Gh/s on HIGH now)!!! YAY!!!
Although, I have a question... the 'mining_proxy.exe' allowed for me to connect and have the 2 cubes use different worker names, but bfgminer requires that I enter a user/pass before it even starts and throws all workers under that worker. Is there any way with bfgminer that I can have separate worker names, or do I have to just use a single worker name?

got a question about what the numbers mean on the BE Cube page I'm hoping someone can answer.

I understand what most of them mean but a couple I'm wondering about

Jobs:0001070423 Accepted:0001016945 Rejected:0000000726 (4:6) F1 F2 F3

What do the bold numbers mean?

I have an all X problem which I'm assuming is power related.

At first it was hashing away nicely for about 8 hours... then it stopped.  After restarting, and then doing a full factory reset.... it will only run for about 1 hr before stopping.

power supply is a new Corsair CX750M with nothing else plugged in.  Before I ran the cube on it... it was powering a 49 port USB erupter setup with no issues.  :/

how did you have this hooked up? did you need adapters? this guide is confusing me lol

Yup, definitely 2 different strands of cable!

Anything else I could try?

Don't try this please. It's the same outcome. Cubes require perfect power, they're 300w of 12v.

That's applying an absolute where one isn't exactly correct.  Is it ideal?  No way.  Not at all.

But you're quoting specs for an overclocked cube. For a standard clocked cube I think it's 200W.

So for a supply with the right specs, wiring, connectors (like the kind that don't melt so easily!),e tc it's not impossible.

Definitely not recommended though.

I thought this was enough. 52A on 12V ? I tried to connect 2 separate lines on the cube (not the 2 connectors on same line). like he img below.

I know stex2009 probably solved his PS issues by now but for anyone else...

If you're looking to run just a single cube, the XFX 550W that goes on sale for $20-ish after rebate every so often is a really decent choice for the money.

It's made by Seasonic.  It's only Bronze but it's a solid 44A +12V.

If you need to run multiple cubes the most cost efficient way might be a cheap Z750P and a server-grade power supply interface board.

Thank you so much for all the help, with some tinkering I finally got it to work. Didn't like my firewall setting apparently.

Do you accept donations by chance?

It won't be for a while as I don't want to cash out until I get a decent balance, but I would like to make a small donation as a thank you.

Hey dude!  Glad you got it working!!  Grin

I don't like the pressure of donations generally.  I enjoy helping others.

But if you're absolutely dying to part a couple satoshis you can send them this way -

Will try 2 cubes on this PSU soon.

Ok, so, I have this blade on the cube, from which this thing came off. Is there a way to fix it ?

Dude.  You have like the absolute worst luck.  Ever.  Sad

This. Run ONE instance of the stratum proxy. It will identify individual clients and treat them as such. Even if you have different hash rates, set them all at the same difficulty.

That doesn't fit with my experience, and I switched back last night just to be sure before I said anything.

I'm running 2 cubes, and if I point them both at the same instance of the proxy, both run consistently in the 36 range, with my pool reporting a combined of almost 72.  If I point them at two different instances of the proxy, on the same PC, one runs consistently at about 38.8 and the other at about 38.2, with my pool reporting just over 76.  It's a small difference, and I can't say I've been particularly scientific about my testing, but nevertheless it seems to be easily replicated.

YMMV, but I'm a fan of 2 copies of the proxy.

'snail

I've found the same thing divinesnail01 mentioned.  Multiple instances of the stratum proxy when running multiple cubes yield slightly better results for me personally.

YMMV.

I cannot get mine to work for the life of me, can someone tell me what is wrong with the setup?

Could be a firewall issue.  I had a similar problem and it turned out my firewall was preventing the cube from connecting.

thanks for responding so quickly, i just disabled Eset to no avail, it still is doing the same thing. Sad

Check your Windows Firewall settings as well.

hi, i'm just arrived and i'm thinking to get a cube. I found the link above but i don't understand, if i buy there the products are in europe? so VAT, import fees etc are included in that price?

and another question, if I use a PSU, i have to wire green and black wire to turn it on (and then turn on the cube) right?

thank you

Yes, EU means in the EU. These aren't new release products so they're well distributed around the world. Yes, you will need to wire green to black.
