Scrypt-ASICs come online in February for Litecoin mining.  If mining other SCRYPT-coins becomes more profitable in terms of Bitcoins than mining Litecoins for Coin-switching pools, they will point their Scrypt-ASICs at Dogecoin and other alt-coins.  So these coins will constantly be shifting up and down the profitability ladder at Coinwarz, while new coins are constantly being found and immediately dumped onto the exchanges.  This will hold the price of Dogecoin and many other scrypt-coins down as more coins are just dumped onto the exchanges.

I'm sure there will eventually be an equilibrium in Dogecoin's price in terms of Bitcoins as more dogecoins are introduced onto the exchanges and more bitcoins are transferred to the exchanges to buy these Dogecoins.... but I just can't see how the current Dogecoin price is even sustainable for a short period of time.

75% of the total number of 100 billion dogecoins will be dugged in the first 138 days after Dogecoin was released... that is such a massive number.  And if Dogecoin's value does start to rise to levels many people in this thread hope, Coin-switching pools will immediately point their hashing power at Dogecoin and take it back down.

As I have said, I just hope that people aren't using too much of their own personal money to buy Dogecoins, as there is a large amount of risk involved with it.

I hope people aren't risking more of their savings than they can afford to lose.  I hope in the long-term it works out for them and that they do not lose their money.

Dogecoin is supposed to be about fun and introducing new people to Crypto-currencies, not for making mega-moolah.  I just hope people aren't going to lose their hard-earned money over something that's purpose was meant to be fun and enjoyable.

To whoever is still mining on http://doge.cryptohash.it STOP

http://oi40.tinypic.com/34rsop3.jpg

As you can see the site tells me that it sent me 1.3k doge, but there's nothing in my wallet history.

I have some balance on the site but it doesn't let me withdraw it, doesn't matter what amount i use it always says "not enough credits"

I've been trying to contact the owner for 2 days, no response.

So yeah. Don't wait until you have a high amount of doge to withdraw, you'll be disappointed.

What is the minimum share difficulty that you can tune to?
I'd create an account there if it's low enough, thanks

All info and instructions here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=361813.msg4049642;topicseen#msg4049642

I could be wrong - if someone knows better, please do correct me - but I believe the hashrate/difficulty setting should be considered per individual GPU, not for total hashrate in your setup, as the GPUs do their work independently. Keep that in mind if you run multiple cards or upgrade to a dual-GPU card like the HD7990.

You're wrong about the fact that DOGE is less/not profitable in long run. Till february, 100 billion DOGEs would be mined out and then as you say Scrypt ASICS will come out. One of the Scrypt ASIC miner brand I saw that is active in this section, their Scrypt ASIC miner will generate 1Mh/s - 1.2Mh/s and that is not much even a R9 290 can do 0.9Mh/s

By that time difficulty will increase, increased difficulty = less coins in market, demand would get even higher as more & more people start disovering it due to press coverage (that has already started).

More demand, less coins = raise in value.
Raise in value = More investors
More investors = More business accepting DOGE
More business accepting DOGE >>> $1=1DOGE

Gridseed looks promising but not quite profitable at this stage

HI every one, in my cgminer sometimes i got this message:"New block detected on network before longpoll". What does it mean exactly? Huh Huh

Thanks in advance to everyone!

 Wink

As far as I know the longpool lets you know when a block has been found on the network and your miner will move to working on the next hash. This message is normal when solo mining, but if you have no long pool you need to lower the scan-time in cgminer settings, I have read "5" works best but I use "1" and find it lowers rejects even more.

It basically makes cgminer miner check to see if a new block has been found every 5/1 seconds else you can be mining a block for 59 seconds after the block has already been found with cgminer default setting before moving or having a reject.

------

Didn't quite read your post quite right but I guess the above does still apply, your miner must be picking up the new block before its being passed down by the longpool (Maybe someone can confirm this?).

I saw those from Fibonacci, they claim to do 1-1.2Mh/s at higher the price of similar hashes generating GPU, in return for less power consumption.
Not much big deal

Yeah i never get that. The internet is full of trolls, you'll find them here, on bitcoin, on youtube, everywhere.

And people like to bitch because its "dogecoin". Well bitcoin sounded just as stupid when it came out. Fiat currency wise, there's the Vietnamese dong, sounds really stupid but guess what, a whole country uses it.

People should just enjoy it and have fun. Pick a pool, mine just 10k in a day or so and keep it if you dislike it so much. So if one day doge value spike up, you're not gonna feel that bad about yourself. If it crashes down, then just dump it. Isn't that "what people are doing everywhere" already? Smiley
