This is a potential project, here are the reasons for what I want to affirm:
1. They have a strong advisors team (one of whom is Jean-Pascal Beaufret - former General Director of the Tax Administration - Ministry of Finance of France, Adviser - Goldman Sachs).
2. Core team with experience in finance and marketing (in which the founder and CEO of the project Mr. Pierre Noizat - is the CEO of Paymium, one of the first bitcoin exchange platforms in the world. Pierre holds an MSc from Ecole Polytechnique, France’s leading Engineering School, and a MBA Degree from Columbia University in New York.)
3. The product of the project is to provide the market with a better security platform, legally clear ...
4. Business Model: Blockchain.io will generate revenues from trading activities, lending, digital currency payments and ICO services. Basically, the time-tested business model of marketplaces and exchanges will be applied to new products and unique technology
5. Roadmap of the project is very clear and scientific: Blockchain.io will progressively roll out new features over the next 18 months, starting with liquidity services and centralized custodial cryptocurrency exchange functionalities in 2018. Decentralized settlement and lending capabilities will follow in early 2019

This allows the participants to verify and audit transactions inexpensively. A blockchain database is managed autonomously using a peer-to-peer network and a distributed timestamping server. They are authenticated by mass collaboration powered by collective self-interests.The result is a robust workflow where participants' uncertainty regarding data security is marginal. The use of a blockchain removes the characteristic of infinite reproducibility from a digital asset. It confirms that each unit of value was transferred only once, solving the long-standing problem of double spending. Blockchains have been described as a value-exchange protocol. This blockchain-based exchange of value can be completed quicker, safer and cheaper than with traditional systems. I have head about this project via the airdrop. There are already quite a few cryptocurrency exchanges so what is the value proposition with this one? They claim they want to be the exchange of trust for individuals and institutional traders and investors. Cryptocurrency is still early stage, and we need this kind of exchange that can onboard institutionals to give the whole industry more credibility as well as propel it to mainstream adoption. An exchange that can facilitate the flow of money from big players could lead to tremendous values for the whole space, and that is something I would like to see.

Now why is blockchain.io interesting? Let's have a quick look at the team:

Pierre Noizat:
He holds an MSc from Ecole Polytechnique, France’s leading Engineering School.
He is the CEO of Paymium, a company he co-founded in 2011 as one of the first bitcoin exchanges in the world, so this isn't some random person just trying to ride the wave.

They say they want to be the exchange of trust for institutionals, one of their advisor, Jean-Pascal Beaufret, is Former Head of the Tax Administration at the French Ministry of Finance and working with Goldman Sachs.

They have several other advisors from NewFund, Tikehau Investment Management and more.

In conclusion, this project may not be revolutionary but that isn't what we need anyway, we need an exchange that can onboard both individuals and institutionals, and this team seems like a good candidate to deliver.
