Another thing everyone should keep in mind - having 5000 of these out there now performing 10x a GPU each for a couple hundred watts also means that there will be a ton of developer interest and bitstreams + miners targeting these devices. It’s equivalent to 50k GPUs.

Very good point,  I see the fpga community growing, especially those that live in high cost electric areas.  Once fpga are out in the wild, I can see a lot of gpu miners converting over to fpga due to it having the same flexability to algo switch,  Only drawback might be resale to gamers but I bet their will be enough interest to keep resale good for fpga

This could be the next game changer in the world pf crypto mining. FPGA development has now catch an attention to hardware developers compared to the previous years, FPGA mining already exist 5 years ago but it lacks of interest to developers due to the manufacturers' limitation but now XILINX and other fpga manufacturers are now riding the blockchain bandwagon.

Yes, there's quite a few temporaries.. That's a little different. These are charge backs.

Please consider leaving this option open, don't let a few scammers ruin it for everyone. You don't risk anything until you ship so you have 2 months to sort out legitimate orders from fraudulent ones.

Mine has been authorized. Initially got a fraud alert from card company, but squared away and transaction authorized.

Payment status on your site says "Paid", so I'm guessing we are good.

I've gotten two of the modified boards, but I see they are not selling too well as opposed to non-modified boards, why would that be? Aren't modified boards better suited for better cooling? What is the disadvantage of the modified board that I don't see?

I stopped stocking the unmodified boards because people were buying them and then requesting to be switched to modified.

Everyone wanted the modified boards.

I would really appreciate an update every so often on how many are left in stock...congrats on your release!

There are currently a couple hundred boards open, and some more that are earmarked but I will make available to the community if there is demand.

I expect those couple hundred to sell out over night as the other side of the world gets involved, so if you want any I would get them now.

And most people are like me not like those just diving in blind. Thats why I am sure FPGA will be a niche game for quite a long time if not forever.

I'll take that action. Name the wager Smiley

Is liquid cooling (Novec or something similar) recommended? How much further can the "modified" boards be pushed, and is it worth the hash increase?

Are we supposed to receive order confirmation emails? Is placing two orders to get a total of 8 cards allowed?

how do we know for certain this is not some elaborate scam?

how does 2 unknown faces on btcforum make a deal with a billion dollar company?

and if so, once you have the 1.6 million what keeps you from running?

thanks

1.6 million? North of 15M, and the deal didn’t come without that capital already existing. This is a service to the community to jump start this space.

Several well known people here, and several real world businesses have vouched for we are.

Whitefire990 / Zetheron have done a lot of work on this - because of the cost and performance of the card, the cost to water cool it and run it at maximum efficiency is actually worth it - per them.

We’re going to have an installed  waterblock option available for purchased that will come on the board when you receive it.

Ordered just 1 for now, definitely excited about this project and been following it pretty much since the first post. Seems like there are about 3 different FPGA hardware threads right now, going to be a fun next few months to see what comes of them!

Thought about buying 4 more but didn’t feel like waiting until August, went with 20 more Vegas instead Smiley
