I see some people taking profits now,  hope that doesn't turn into panic dumping.  Still way up over a little while ago,  this new floor is looking reliable.

When does the coin swap program start?

Is this not the right place to get current status?   Should I be looking in a different thread---    pretty quiet here.

Plan is to do it this month unless we hit some major issue. Check the last update few posts above.

So no pos yet then?

Soon. You know? For some reason you have to test development work, especially when its handling peoples money...

Btw tests are still going on, joined finally, overseen the new "noblepos" folder
in the app directory, where to put the edited noblecoin.conf file .

Resources and infos (some posts before  Grin ) for joining the tests:

I should have read that more carefully, i see now that the switch to POS is not happening on mainnet yet, but on testnet things are looking pretty good.

Might want to take down the marketplace or update the prices, they are either wrong or nonexistent right now.

Update on PoS wallet testing 2015-02-11

- over 100 hours passed on test blockchain
- we are at block 5038 now
- no issues so far
- PoS diff reached 2 at one point (!) which is awesome for test network. Staying around 1.4 now
- PoW diff stays at 0.0018 which is low. You can join with even slow computers and be able to mine a block from time to time

The plan for test blockchain is to keep it running past block 7000 as at height of 7000 PoW mining should switch off. I want to see how this affects the network. If everything goes as planned we will know code is stable.

We have couple more days to go so it still makes sense to join test efforts. Wink After you join feel free to provide your address on test network and we can send you some funds there.

Plan for real blockchain is to switch this month. This is still tentative date as things may be delayed if we hit any issues. But I will try to make an effort to do it in February.

Cool. Thanks for feedback. Have you also tried accessing your coins from the real blockchain (non-PoS wallet)? this is the simplest procedure https://github.com/eagleflies/noblecoin/wiki/Importing-private-keys-from-old-wallet.dat-using---salvagewallet-option

Thanks!

It will be a CPU only PoW algo (plus PoS) for a set amount of time, e.g. a month, which will enable to PoS coins to age and start staking to help prevent an attack. Then PoW will turn off and it will be PoS only.
