Many people including the devs have stated that halving was a bad idea and will not happen.
So, according to your know-it-all powers you should predict the death of VTC in the near future.
If so, why don't you get out when you still can?

That is what it was meant for! The development team are over there and is easier for you to communicate with them, rather than going back and forth with members.

Listen, enough arguing over halving, change algo, whatever.
Vertcoin needs exposure - like articles in Wired, etc, big news, big things, things that make it better than other pump and dump shitcoins.
Vertcoin is better than all that. You can buy things with this coin actually. The dev's are good and work hard, with new innovative features instead of copying other peoples stuff.
We need -
-Exposure - articles in magazines and web
-Ability to buy VTC with US Dollars!
-Good reasons for people to invest in Vertcoin
Strong community supporting this coin! Let me get some POSITIVITY from this community! Lets make this current price the BOTTOM and start growing this coin!

Once again, the price is not driven by the block reward but by the buyers and sellers. newly mined coins at this difficulty/price being dumped is not the reason why the price is dropping period, if the price drops further it will be because of other reasons, logic stands @ my side because who would mine and instantly dump at a loss might as well spend that money buying bitcoin directly rather on electricity or even quit mining all together, anybody mining now is HOLDING unless their electricity is free there is no 28800 VTCs "getting dumped on exchanges every day" at this point because that is just down right illogical his logic miners will always mine and dump and not care for making a loss is simply illogical and makes no sense whatsoever ! also on a side note now your posts started hurting darkota's feelings better , please don't hurt mr. crypto god 112 xD |

Lowering the block reward would mean less coins being mined and dumped every day. So there would not need to be as much buy pressure to just keep the price STABLE let alone go up. Yes and according to some it could be fixed by halving the block reward. Why it won't work: 2 hypothesis (for the demonstration we will assume that the price drop is caused by the amount of coins being dumped) *The halving increase the price -Less coins will be mined, but those coins will be worth more --> No effect at all, the dumping of the newly mined coins will make the price drop like it is doing now *The halving doesn't increase the price -Less coins will be mined but the price will remain stable --> mining will no longer be profitable for anyone and the coin will die. |
