Okay, I got my 270s and 290s working.. The trick is to turn your threadcount down. The sweet spot for me seemed to be about 2/3 of what I normally use for mining (12000 for 270, 26000 for 290). Also I changed worksize to 512. Not sure if this made a difference, but it *seemed* to. Here's some specifics for my setup, no clue if this will work for you or not: add to your vertcoin.conf: rpcuser=username rpcpassword=password rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcport=9332 daemon=1 server=1 gen=0 for R9 270: cgminer.exe --scrypt -I 19 -w 512,512 --thread-concurrency 12000 -o http://127.0.0.1:9332 -u username -p password for R9 290: cgminer.exe --scrypt -I 18 -w 512,512 --thread-concurrency 26000 -o http://127.0.0.1:9332 -u username -p password

WHERE IS THE CPU MINER?
It's probably the same as with all scrypt-jane coins, there is not yet a cpu miner that can use stratum. Well there is, but it needs two small changes in the cpu-miner.c. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=250501.msg2666452#msg2666452
I won't do it, I want to see if the Vertcoin community is smart or not.Nevermind, this is not scrypt-jane.

Man I really hope this coin takes off. This *could* be the next litecoin, given the level of innovation, but it really depends on getting the word out. People aren't going to like seeing their hashrate cut in half. Maybe once those scrypt ASICs come out this coin will take off though. In the mean time it'll be up to the community to promote this coin since the premine was only 3 blocks.

could any one post config that work for 7950 i am getting only HW erros , no matter what intensity and thread concurrency
-I 13 -g 2 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 8192 How much GPU RAM do you have? Try bringing the TC down to 4096 3 GB as any standard 7950

I like how we got gpu miner for your coin within 2 days. So much for cpu-only coin. If you do something, do it properly, not half-assed.

I agree, my congratulations to the OP on giving us something interesting for a change. Level of innovation? He changed one setting. Okay, fair enough, but remember the memory requirement increases over time and this puts a major wrench in ASIC mining and a minor wrench in GPU mining. 8 months from now when litecoin is thoroughly raped by ASIC miners the GPU miners will need something to move to, and this is a lot more appealing than Quark. I guess it could also end up being any one of the scrypt-jane coins though.

The cpu mining is worthless mining 24hr with 2x I7-4770 hashrate 2900 each.
Found a stunning 50 vt..... i am moving away from this coin.

The announcement post says nothing about CPU only. Here - directly from the OP. Is this cpu-only mining ? Answer : We will start N = 2048. N = 2048 cannot prevent some GPU cards to mining, but we agree that it will take time to come up with miner software. After the software comes out, we just hope the N will go up enough to prevent GPUs again. Smiley

When were you mining? I found 200 on my I7-4771 with 7 threads in the first 2 hours.. Heh, after that the cloud miners took over for a good while though. new CPU miner is out, maybe give it a try on a pool?

Since we dont want GPU on this coin!
Wrong answer. CPU only coins are garbage because they're controlled entirely by botnets. Anyone you see arguing for one is just an illegal botnet operator. From my understanding, GPU should have less of an advantage over CPU over time, but will still have advantage. This coin is the first logical evolution of LTC and isn't marred by the premine scandals of Freetrade & MMC. I like how we got gpu miner for your coin within 2 days. So much for cpu-only coin. If you do something, do it properly, not half-assed.
For the 10th time, nowhere in the original post does it mention ANYTHING about this being a CPU only coin. Been lots of crying botnet operators posting in this thread so far. This coin is an evolution of LTC, not a get rich quick scheme for botnet operators. The GPU miner was also openly available from the start, so nobody was at any disadvantage like how Quark launched and people developed GPU miners and kept them secret and closed source. The release of this coin is as legit as it comes.
