We want a slow and steady rise not necessarily pumps. Pumping did VTC no favors when it first hit Cryptsy. I would love higher volume trading with a good upward trend. It's nice to see the value jump but in a pump it's temporary and if you're supporting VTC for the long haul it's just a roller coaster.
 ride.

If VTC jumps in price because of the algo, dev team and community then I'm all for it. Let's give our coin a chance to rise on it's merits rather than a group of people trying to manipulate the market.

Agreed. Also, lol at the "then we all win money." Pump and dumps are zero sum - the manipulator is taking money from the idiots buying at fuck high prices, hoping it'll go up more. Everybody does not win, in fact, very few people do.

Well said. Each time this happens on a pump and dump you alienate potential investors in CC. I think of it as selling a product, or idea, and completely screwing over someone on their first purchase, or experience. How likely are they going to be to support your cause at that point on? We want people to get into CC not be burnt by it.

I'm new to Vert but I love it! Great features, dev and community..no pre-mine...daily volume is ok. What is wrong with this coin? Why has it lost 95% of it's value?

@volyova we are currently in a bear market

VTC from 1.00$ to 0.05$ = 95% down /Vertcoin is only a ~ 10 months old /

LTC from 45.00$ to 3.50$ = 92% down /Litecoin is only a ~ 36 months old /

Bear market

A bear market is a general decline in the stock market over a period of time.[7] It is a transition from high investor optimism to widespread investor fear and pessimism. According to The Vanguard Group, "While there’s no agreed-upon definition of a bear market, one generally accepted measure is a price decline of 20% or more over at least a two-month period."[8]
Examples

A bear market followed the Wall Street Crash of 1929 and erased 89% (from 386 to 40) of the Dow Jones Industrial Average's market capitalization by July 1932, marking the start of the Great Depression. After regaining nearly 50% of its losses, a longer bear market from 1937 to 1942 occurred in which the market was again cut in half. Another long-term bear market occurred from about 1973 to 1982, encompassing the 1970s energy crisis and the high unemployment of the early 1980s. Yet another bear market occurred between March 2000 and October 2002. The most recent examples occurred between October 2007 and March 2009, as a result of the financial crisis of 2007–08.

My advice is buy ... The VERTCOIN price at the moment is a good to entry

As for price, Litecoin has spent much of the last 6 months between $0.05 and $0.10 on the crypto currency exchange btc-e.com

Potential Growing Pains

While I certainly see the recent growth and news in Litecoin as a positive I feel it prudent to point out that Litecoin may experience some volatility in the coming weeks and months. Litecoin is still much younger than Bitcoin, having been founded just one and a half years ago. However, the relatively low difficulty of Litecoin for much of the last year combined with what had been a smaller mining community means that some early miners may hold large concentrations of Litecoin. This is not unlike Bitcoin’s early days. If we’re to expect similar trends to arise, then Litecoin may see some selloffs of large amounts of Litecoin. If this were to happen, Litecoin is likely to see a considerable amount of short term volatility followed up by an eventual return to an equilibrium price.

now all GPU miners looking for an alternative and where to put their Mining RIG

VTC is at the very beginning and is moving in the right range, I'm sure that we close one year we will see a price of $ 10

Hey, thanks! I was hoping that that was what someone would say, because that was my assumption/analysis as well. I just wanted to make sure that there are no real bad issues with the coin. I've now put my rigs behind Vertcoin. GPU miners should stick together...people are always stronger when they are together and have a common purpose. This GPU miner is very thankful to Bushido. :-)

I will buy now and then i switch to mining. Does anyone know how to get VTC on BTC-e for example? They are trading with mostly dead coins and don't get it Roll Eyes. Where's the innovation on this exchanges?

donation of 200,000 coins, there is a story which says that ....  LTC have donated 200 000 LTC to put them in BTC-e  exchange
BTC-e promised to add new coins in May, but this was never done (and neither was the audit they also promised). At the time there were rumours that VTC was one of the coins that they were going to add. I think maybe the price drop on all coins made them stall on the idea of adding new coins? I think they must be waiting..

That probably wont happen. I dont even remember when was the last time they added a coin (~2 years ago) and as a whole, they are not the type of exchanges that wants to or is looking forward to adding new coins.
Every single coin out there would love to get lined up on btc-e (because the volumes there are insane and thats one of the few exchanges that doesnt have "dirt" on it yet) and if the matter was as simple as "donating money", you would have seen quite a few more coins up on that exchange.
Feathercoin? TRC? XPM? don't make me laugh..
