Just wanted to also say congratulations and job well done to all the hard work and development that must have gone into the omnitech system and creating a payment system that integrates DGB.  Jared, the guys at TofuGear, 24, and everyone else involved, should be really proud of all their work.  It's a great project, that demonstrates the power that the DGB blockchain has for commerce.

What effect do you think Ethereum will have of alt coin prices. Do you think many will dump out on there current alts to get ino ether. It's launching end of this week ?

I would not touch Ethereum for at least 3 months . It will be highly over valued at the start. It will also do more harm to coins like NXT / NEM /Ripple then coins like dgb. Worst case scenerio for dgb is it might lose a few traders
and miners for the 3 gpu algorithms while Ethereum prices bring in speculators.  Even Ethereum will have the same problems as every other coin. Getting users to  accept it.

ETH is focussing on many aspects except for the actual coin , the inventor did not even wanted to start up a coin, he is focussed on the blockchain technology , in my understanding the wallet ect is not even close to the quality of DASH or DOGED or DGB, therefore especially at start it will not be a very interesting coin

A block reward could potentially be calculated based on the algorithm that found the block, the difficulty of that algorithm and how many consecutive blocks in a row that algorithm found. 

I know other coins do have variable block rewards so its not like its a brand new thing but it is something I would be open for discussion on.  At one point vertcoin was going to implement elasticity. 

Here is a quote from a blog post "So, what is elasticity? Cryptocurrencies traditionally operate on an inelastic distribution model whereby the supply of coins is fixed or runs on a schedule (halving). Many prominent economists have commented that the biggest thing holding Bitcoin back from ubiquity is their inelastic distribution model. The problem is one of market volatility – supply does not ever adjust to demand and thus you get massive swings in price (bubbles and crashes). With an elastic distribution model, the supply of spendable coins reacts to the market demand"

I am not saying we should copy other coins but I do feel that a variable block reward / elastic distribution should at least be on the table and discussed. 

@HR, Id really love to see what your take is on this.  I feel like this would significantly help the stabilization of digibyte and assist with getting away from the massive pump and dumps we are all against.

I'm not too awfully familiar with the VTC proposal, or with the elastic distribution model in particular - I might well be characterized as knowing just enough to be dangerous in these matters. There once was a promising new coin called AidBit with an integrated miner in its wallet, a great kernel, and a very interesting distribution model; unfortunately that coin is now dead (awaiting resurrection?). They had the rewards dropping as difficulty fell, and increasing as it rose, and that, in my opinion, had more to do with AID's demise than anything else, but, instead of repeating myself here, I'll let you read this post I made on the subject (with the Dev's reply):

This is all very tricky stuff whose ramifications and possible outcomes need to be thoroughly analyzed. As we see in the case of AidBit, even a very good idea and implementation is not enough if you can't develop the community. It seems to me that the current, "industry standard" distribution model of falling/rising rewards with rising/falling hashrates and difficulty might be about the most elastic we can get while still keeping to the central goal of creating a widely distributed user base (it's not "elastic" on a gross, per block, total reward level, but from a per miner, percentage of hashrate, "de facto" point of view it is very much so).

Sorry I can't add anything more than more doubts and questions to the discussion. Hopefully as we get more input on the matter from others (especially from the more knowledgeable on the subject and the technical experts), our collective doubts and questions will gel into something a bit more insightful for DGB's future.

Having watched the 2nd DigiReport, i just would like to say that Digibyte's Current Impression is looking better than before. Things now are more organized, transparent and alive. Awesome transformation on DigiReport video's professionalism (the 1st one look like it was not done properly and very impromptu). Good to see everything is back in order!

Keep it up! i'm still planning to buy more digibytes and hold them.  

As for my thoughts on the 21 years vs 144 years, there is an issue about how miners will continue to mine if all bitcoin has been mined. How will they earn and continue mining to secure the network and verify transactions? the current understanding is that miners will earn from transaction fees. i don't know much about this yet but i thought i just bring it up to the table since we are still in discussion about Digibyte's Supply.

And then there's also the Lightning Network, which could drastically boost the number of bitcoin transactions verified/sec? something like that. i read a reddit mentioning that the Lightning Network can be ready earlier than they had planned it to be. Will Digibyte benefit from the Lightning Network too?

Regarding Digibyte's PoW algorithms, i am not knowledgeable about it. but i hope the Digibyte Team and those who are knowledgeable about it, can take a look at other altcoin's PoW algorithms. the only one that caught my attention was Vertcoin's Lyra2. http://vertcoin.org/wp/pow-algorithm-upgrade-lyra2/. Any thoughts about it? it seems like it can be adopted into one of Digibyte's algorithms as i rmb reading something about how problematic huge mining farms can be to Digibyte because of 2 PoW algorithms.

About PoS coins, just a thought, i think some kind of PoS could be useful after all coins have been mined. i do not know how but i believe it can be further work on. I think it won't be called PoS anymore since there won't be anymore coins to get. Proof of Ownership? Also, Since there won't be any difficulty involved after all coins have already been mined, therefore...huge amount of electricity won't be needed to compute to solve mathematical equations am i right? electricity is only needed to verify transactions and to secure the network. so somewhere around there, maybe some kind of PoS can prove to be useful in some ways. Maybe not by itself alone but together with other algorithms in the future. as far as i know, PoS and PoW ain't the only type of algorithms that i have come across during my research. there are others too. but those 2 are the most common for now.

Why am i talking about this (the previous paragraph)? well...if we are going to stick with the 21 years plan, what is going to happen after that to secure the network and to verify the transactions?

Yes, there is a few things here that need to be looked into on this site. At the moment it is displaying an average price for DigiByte at 20 sat. Where can I buy DGB at 20 sat, I want them all. (This is because cex data reading zero, so don't bother looking for 20 sat DGB.)
The hash rate charts are for the DigiHash pool only, it would be much more useful if we could see a picture of the overall network, regardless of which particular pool. That said, it would be great if DigiStats got all fancy and listed the different pools and anonymous users as well. Have not heard from alaniz for a while, maybe he's on holiday or something.
