OK everybody.
We obviously have an issue with Coino at the moment.
The survey finishes today and in a couple of hours I will publish the results here.
If the vote, by the community, is to keep coino, the first point to be addressed by any new dev team will obviously be the current issues. This will need to be done as a point of urgency.

Well the question "should coino stay the way it is" is somewhat vague don't you think? Just because about half voted no doesn't mean that they don't want to keep coino, the coin itself. Personally, I interpreted it as coino will stay the same coin like it was on the day it was created except with a different marketing/branding strategy.

Staying the same does not mean no new dev driven by the community.

For everyones safety do not send out any coins right now. Blockchain is stuck at 269708.
The new source is available to update your wallet. Compiled binaries are coming as we get them done. I have push requested the update to the main Coino fork, but at the moment you can get it from my fork at: https://github.com/bgade/coinoYou may want to manually add this node to speed up your re-sync: 206.45.96.254 At this particular moment, the main network is on block 269718. The problem was caused by a code issue that was affected by daylight savings time. It has been corrected. At the same time, the KGW exploit was included. This update represents a HARD FORK at block 269708. This is a required update.

I downloaded the ZIP files from GitHub... but it didn't contain any executables etc... What do you mean "manually add this node"? Add to what?

Just to re-iterate THIS IS A REQUIRED UPDATE. If you want to continue mining Coin(O) you will need to Update your existing wallets 1. Copy your wallet.dat 2. Remove your current wallet 3. Compile the new source 4. Start up your wallet and sync the block chain 5. Stop your wallet and copy over your saved wallet.dat 6. Restart your wallet You should not loose existing coins

I guess it means to convert the files into "proper" files or something... (hey I'm an accountant, I can help with tax returns and VAT though!)

I may take you up on that offer! Here is the current update: The new wallet is working on unix. The windows version is being created now and will be available in a bit. If anyone wants to work on compiling one as well, they are welcome. Please get in touch on the IRC channel. Once the new windows wallet is ready, it will be posted. It uses the existing blockchain, so all existing coins are still there and safe. We'll provide some "techy" details on a way to speed up the new wallet working as we post it. But even if you don't follow them it will still start to work, just a bit slower. Sorry for the delay everyone - we were hoping to have a more controlled update but we were forced to do it today instead of next week due to the code error.

I'd like an advice :
I didn't open / edit / modify my Coino wallet since a few weeks.
Regarding to recent posts about lost Coino, what do you advice :
Let it close and update wallet once issued ?
(Nota Bene : Macintosh Wallet)
Thank you.
Sincerely,

The funny part is that The dev AKA Mr Coino is logging in everyday and looking at this thread.
April 08, 2014, 07:36:52 was his last time he visited his own thread.
and I hope you all fools understand now what I meant. Before he went lost I said to you all this german kid is a jackass. He have no knowledge of anything. But nobody believed me.

Sincerely,
Yes please. Closing it and leaving it closed is safe. When the new wallet file is available, there will also be steps to upgrade. You will need to backup your wallet.dat file "just in case". Once the new wallet is installed, it will sync and you will have your coins.

I fully understand your feeling. I feel the same - the premine should be destroyed. However, that isn't something I felt I should do when I released this update. There needs to be a clear choice amongst the users to do that. And along with that, there should be terms for what would need to happen for the premine to come back. Imagine if I decided you hadn't been active enough with the coin so I took it upon myself to remove your coins. I may think I have a great reason to do that - but it would still upset you. We can't allow our anger to cause us to move quickly. We know where the premine is and how to remove it. But first we need to decide if everyone wants that done and under what terms its "fair" to do so.

Obsan, you looked at the wrong time when you clicked on Coino.org's name. What you saw was his local time listed. His real last login was March 15, 2014, 06:09:26 PM. It is listed just above his local time.
