I just got a message on twitter: I think I'm going to blow a F*ING gasket at coindesk. They've just done an article on x11 and not even mentioned darkcoin. X11 has slowly gained traction in terms of new coin implementation. Hirocoin and québecoin are perhaps the most notable examples of X11 coins. WTF http://www.coindesk.com/advanced-algorithms-maxcoin-dogecar/light up the comments box, again. coin101 i've reread it two times in research of darkcoin mention...three words for the writer: shame on you

HAHAHAHAHAHAH !!!! This just came out on Coindesk!! http://www.coindesk.com/advanced-algorithms-maxcoin-dogecar/The part is called ... The Rise of X11!! In recent months, innovations have come out of the altcoin community that have pushed new mining approaches and algorithms into the fore. From Scrypt-N to Groestl, more advanced systems for veryifing transactions within the coin network are reshaping the altcoin landscape.
According to a document created by pool operator SuchPool.pw, X11 “provides a very efficient way to mine coins”. The algorithm does not pose the same power needs as other proof-of-work digital currencies, results in lower heat ranges and and greater hardware longevity as a result.
X11 has slowly gained traction in terms of new coin implementation. Hirocoin and québecoin are perhaps the most notable examples of X11 coins. Additionally, the algorithm has been integrated by some elements of the multipool community, with several pools offering X11 as a mining option.
For altcoin miners, X11 presents an interesting alternative that could become more prominent within the ecosystem. Those hoping to increase the lifetime of their mining rigs may want to consider this new algorithm as a viable option. WTF? Is this not the second coindesk article today where the author was clueless / deeply confused? Unfortunately, i think it's calculated, coindesk are showing their usual editorial line in not mentioning darkcoin. Darkcoin's rise in the last several days would not go by unnoticed by the coindesk crew. Unless i have missed an article or three, it's a shame that coindesk does not cover darkcoin. I guess they have their reasons.... Search results for "darkcoin" Sorry, we couldn't find anything matching your search.I actually waited until I accumulated my entire position before I began to tell people about DRK. Just sayin....That was my reason.

Did we ever figure out who this person is - http://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/address.dws?188207.htm - Certainly someone a bit OCPD - Had to get his address to an exact amount. All incoming transactions just accumulating darkcoin for close to a month now. Nothing going out to exchanges. Who is this massive whale and is he the one pumping darkcoin too? Looking at the transactions I concluded yesterday it's either an exchange which has not yet made itself known and opened the exchange, or it's a ballsy millionaire who knows how to invest. Es da NSA! 270 masternodes. Mahahaha. Women nowadays only want men from the NSA. They're the best listeners and always know exactly what you're thinking.

Who gives a f**k about Max Coin and Smurf Coin.... I would have hoped Coindesk were planning on doing an entire piece on Darkcoin....

The Future Of Work

I appreciate instacash's work on the mac wallets and I gather (s)he has a lot of projects so I'm sympathetic to them here. However, it's a moderately significant problem for the darkcoin community (especially on days like yesterday!) if there is an update and then a lengthy delay before the mac wallet is released. Even more so when the mac wallet is MISLABELED on the darkcoin website.
Is there any kind of plan to provide in-house mac releases in the future? Is there any way that mac users can update the wallet themselves?
That's the rough part right now because we're closed source until Evan feels it's robust enough for every other coin to clone.... er... I mean use. I think Evan or InternetApe got a mac to compile on, sorry it was mislabeled As soon as things are open sourced, it will get easier, and I know Evan wants to get things opened up as fast as possible, he just doesn't want something with a big issue in it to be gobbled up by every other coin, and discover a terrible hole in it! Not only would that hurt all the other coins, but would hurt us worse! Bad reputation, conspiracy theories, you know how this works! It would be devastating to DRK So sorry about the Mac wallets, etc.... Not to diminish the importance whatsoever, I might suggest you everyone put Ubuntu on a flash drive to boot on your computer so in a pinch you could use your wallet. If you play with it a little now, so you might get used to Linux, it may save you panic in the future. Maybe not you in particular, but saying this to everyone.

Coindesk isn't even a big deal....I have never went on their site to be honest. I'm also sure they get paid to write articles about certain coins. Fake news website.
