You need a 1000DRK collateral that remains in your possession for each masternode you create. So no you can't have an unlimited amount of masternodes. The theoretical limit would be: (available coin supply/ 1000) so a max of around 5100 MNs at this time. This is not realistic though so real number will be smaller we are currently at around 2100MNs, we will have to wait and see where it settles.

Gosh it could be as easy as downloading a wallet and syncing it and running it "hot" by send 1000 coins to it in one go, on the debug console, type in masternodegenkey (I think) and taking that number/letter combo and putting it in your darkcoin.conf file which should look something like this:

But that does NOT include safety measures which include closing ports, ddos protection, etc...  and especially using a hot/cold wallet combo where the wallet that is online has no funds, but connects to a cold wallet that does have the funds.  You can go to darkcointalk.org and see the tutorials there.

I HIGHLY recommend joining the testing group (also on darkcointalk.org) where you can play with funnycoins (testcoins) and not risk losing anything.  You can practice setting this stuff up, and pushing the envelope to see what might break if you do this or that.  Good for your peace of mind, good for the testing going on!

Well, to at least an altitude of 51,000 feet (if we make up some sort of fictitious notion of there being ten Darkcoin per foot and, as Minotaur's pointed out, a maximum at the moment of around 5,100 masternodes). But given that's higher than all current commercial airliners can fly you can still say that "the sky's the limit".

There is a limit of around 3000 MN at the moment for you  , around 2000 already set up , total DRK circulation around 5 Mln at the moment.
Please advise beforehand if you are planning to start 3000 , then let me please have the poss to start up my own first

There isn't a limit hardcoded other than the max coin supply divided by 1000 rounded down to the nearest whole number. 3000 was always Evan's target, but nothing restricted codewise.

Just don't worry. They will add drk in right time and when they will be ready.
TBH even btc-e will add drk. It is only a metter of time when. I know they are ltc focused BUT ltc goes nowhere, clear speculation with no added value.

I moved over here from XC after supporting it for a good 6 months, XC had some good tech whatever the haters say, but it lost focus, the community was not as good and the coin died...

Always good to be misquoted.. I think I have been here around 6 months and constantly supported dark coin.. my point was meant to be that even if other coins have good tech, we can all agree or disagree on what constitutes that.. if they don't have the right community behind them then it will fail.. VHS took over and was not the best on all fronts but it gained mass adoption.. I think dark will gain mass adoption because the tech is great but the community is even better and that is the most important thing... hope that clears things up as I certainly was not 'fudding' and am yet to sell a single dark coin!

RED FLAG #1

You have every right to be suspicious, crypto is a dirty game, but I really don't see how whois guard is a red flag.  Check my sig to see other similar services I run.  I have plenty of happy customers and want to expand to DRK as I see the long term potential and value in this coin/project.

I spoke with the DRK team (Fernando) before developing the service to make sure they're happy with my launching it, I'm not sure they would vouch for me since they don't know me that well, but I'm sure there are others who would.

I can confirm that he is in contact with me since a few weeks ago and I am happy that the dark British have another option. As he says, I can't vouch for him because I don't know him, but everything I asked was answered and I felt good about him. If it is scam, it is one of the most time-consuming I've seen and I don't think the reward would be big. However, I don't know how UK banks work, so I don't have an opinion about the specifics of how he works. As always, do your research and act only if you feel comfortable
