1.  Do I believe in the project, the innovation, the dev team, the community and the FUTURE of the coin whatever the name ?

Yes?  Great - we all have an affinity to darkcoin name but realise especially over the long term it's bigger than A Name.

I'm definitely in the YES camp.  The thought of looking back in 5 10 ,20 years and regretting a decision to dump my coins over a name change is certainly trumped by my belief in what I see as a real alternative to Bitcoin.

For what it's worth I wasn't initially taken by DASH .  The GOTTA DASH mentioned a few posts ago has won me over though.

Evan was leaned on by other "Investors/exchanges and Businesses" To change the Name...He didnt even consult with major players in the community or people that have actually worked on the project....All this does is show that Evan is a horrible point of failure in this system, and its even worse he doesn't care what the community thinks he just implements change...If he is this quick to give in on Pressure from just exchanges and other people imagine how quickly he will fold to the big 3 letter agencies. Guys, please don't let your sentimental attachment to the old name cloud your judgement. Darkcoin would never gain traction outside of dark markets and nerds. When I brought it up to anyone outside of crypto, people had immediate negative reactions to the name. It makes sense to us, but for others dark= bad, criminal, evil etc.

Bitcoin is barley outside nerds and DNMs.... so why not cater to the people actually buying it... you all keep acting like theirs a chance to surpass bitcoin.. THERE ISNT... if you cant understand or stomach that, well Fools are meant to part with their money

What Evan and his totalitarian rule is doing now, is decreasing the chances of Darkcoin/Dash being used as an actual anonymous crytpocurrency within the crypto community, which is the only hope that Darkcoin/Dash would actually thrive.

First post with my new account after someone stole mine, and got blocked... (started in DRK when gpu miner got out, 10DRK a day with a 280x)

As for the name change, IMHO I think it shows ambition! Chalenge Bitcoin for the Global market.

With the name Darkcoin we're trying to reach a market niche, the darkmarket, the illegal stuff, where transactions can't be traced to you.

But now with InstantX, this coin tecnology is much more than just an anonymous coin.

The new ideas from Evan, if he can deliver (like he did EVERYTIME) can put the balance towards this coin, making it the trully Digital cASH.

As has been said, I believe that this change will be for the best, after my wall was sold in to completely there were no walls at all for a considerable period of time during this controversy, I think that was some good free market price discovery of where today's natural floor would be in difficult conditions, the coins that were sold to me are now effectively removed from the open market and will join the masternode network in strengthening the coin, my present wall is 100 BTC @ 0.01 on Finex if anyone would like to exit a large position, it won't be removed or lowered, there's also 30 BTC worth of bids on Cryptsy at the same price.

I personally think the sell off was an overreaction and we will be back up in $3.40-3.70 range within 2-3 days. At the end of the day what is in a name anyway? It is still the same coin with the same solid features. This is only part of marketing/rebranding which in my opinion has always been lacking with DRK so its good to see the Devs thinking along these lines too!

Perhaps the name is not fatal but this development illustrates that the DEV does not care what the investors think.  Its a huge decision to be made with no input from the community.  This fact is worse then the actual name change.
