I could spend all day going over how fantastic a job Monero is doing, but, you know, real life happens rather than spending time trying to throw mud.

I'll leave the last word to the Monero developers:

----

That said, it's simply not acceptable for us (to echo your words) to put lipstick on a pig and ship a GUI that is pleasant enough, but takes 4 days to sync from scratch, requires 6+gb of RAM, sucks a ton of bandwidth, and is accepted nearly nowhere.

We will deliver a proverbial work of art, but it requires building out parts of the foundation that we had previously viewed as less of a priority (until the 202612 attack). Oh, and we're doing it on like no money, so there's that.

Finally, a sensible comment and a dose of reality.

+101

The last time Monero shills got out of hand and started a mud slinging match, they ended up being attacked on a number of different levels. I don't advocate anything like that, but you'd think they would have learnt from the experience. But then again, desperation has a funny way of clouding people's judgement.

Just a quick catch-up while having lunch.

I see the Monero devs are under so much strain lately, you know busy posting fud everywhere instead of focusing on the job at hand - see above some of the issues that need to be worked on which aren't because of trolling DRK.  Roll Eyes

Smooth, as someone who holds some Monero (less and less over time, admittedly), you make me very nervous with the amount of time you spend in the Dash thread slandering other developers instead of working on your own technology.  You and Fluffypony need to figure out that if you put more of your time into development, and show that your technology a positive future, the community will see this promise and will defend the tech for you- as has happened with Dash.  Their developers don't get involved in circular arguments that waste everyone's time on anonymous message boards ("You prove this", "No, you prove this", etc).  They focus on improving their product and they get things done.  Positivity will trump negativity every time.

I understand that you have "concern" that people are choosing the "wrong" technology, and that you're "concerned" for late-comers about the amount of coins released early on.  I came in "late" and I researched all of the facts and I still invested in Dash.  You come off as very greedy and obviously aren't concerned for anyone other than yourself.  As an investor in your product, I ask you to please worry about your own project and don't come here making up reasons to bash someone else's.

http://www.coindesk.com/dangerous-satoshi-nakamoto/

I'm not saying its wrong although it is somewhat speculative. I reported what I know about the topic that is all. There was no rush to mine, the mining was very slow (below the target) and many people mined, but not a lot. According to the theory in that article satoshi was apparently mining just to keep the network going (at the minimum difficulty, and limping at that), so I don't think we really know for sure that he even kept the coins. Maybe, maybe not.

Quote
Lerner quantifies that behaviour, and reaches similar conclusions. He believes that Satoshi wasn't mining for profit, because of the way he or she gradually pulled out of the mining process as other miners took on a greater percentage of the hashrate

I stand by my statement that the situation was totally different back then. It is hard to imagine a situation where people would mine and not keep the wallets, but people definitely did that. Remember, no exchanges, no price, no trading, no nothing (and no guarantee of any of that ever).

Department of, please spare me the concern trolling, I'm not interested. If you don't like Monero, sell it. How much have you donated to the development fund by the way? I don't see your name on the hall of fame anywhere.

After all the develop behing darkcoin, If you dont beliebe in this long term project, the best that you can do is disapear.

Bye bye iCEBREAKER

After much searching, potential homes have been found, as Douglas Adams would say, pack them all in on the 'B' ark and tell them you'll meet them at the destination planet,

The 'B' Ark survived.  You have fun on the 'A' Ark, being eaten by a giant mutant Stargoat or whatever...   Wink

Speaking of H2G2, I've always loved the Golgafrincham satire of central banking and paper fiat.

Quote
“Since we decided a few weeks ago to make the leaf legal
tender we have all, of course, become immensely rich.” He pulls a leaf from his billfold and
stuffs it in Ford’s breast pocket.

“We happen to have a small inflation problem owing to the high level of leaf ability,” the
economist admits. “So in order to obviate this problem and effectively reevaluate the leaf we
have decided on an extensive campaign of defoliation and, ah, burn down all of the forests.”

“I think it’s a sensible move”

Why would I donate to the Monero development fund when I've seen little to no progress in the past few months, with no real promise of any in the future?  Be more professional and use your time a little more wisely and I will donate.  But I'm not going to give you money to sit there and spend hours upon hours slandering other developers.

Dash has made many developments and continues to improve.  The developers are skilled, friendly, and professional.  It's an easy choice to see where any investor should put their money.

Why don't we set up a bounty payable to the first person to prove either a) the instamine was deliberate and/or b) Dash is a scam?

Maybe a separate bounty for the identity of Icebreaker so the foundation members can take the appropriate legal action for slander.

Lol!

How come you DRKtards don't get it.  When Satoshi was mining the chances of a monetary reward for doing so were incredibly small.  People could mine if they wished as it was well circulated on the mailing lists.

In the case of DRK DASH it was a premeditated scam.  DASH IS AN INSTAMINE SCAM. 2 MILLION COINS MINED IN THE FIRST DAY OR 2 by the DEV.

Do any of you know how long it took to mine 2 million coins with Bitcoin?
