How is this blinding going to work? LMFAO .. the nodes will need to communicate with the network and each other, sniffing traffic from one node will yield other nodes..... WOW THICK SKULLS.
If your basic understanding is on that level, then there's no point in explaining how it works or what it does.

Also running a Masternode will become useless for information gathering purposes thanks to blinding anyway. So what's the big fuss with the NSA? ...
Again - I think JL was posing a genuine point. I don't think he's a "thick skull". There are loads of possibilities when you've got hypothetical attack vectors at your disposal. How they play out in practice I don't know. The fiat banking system leaks like a seive and is probably the poorest security model you could imagine in your wildest dreams. Yet the whole world runs on it. Every time I use a cash machine I reflect to myself on how totally stone age it feels compared to any crypto - yet I still use it without a worry. It's a legitimate question - that business of the "NSA" commandeering masternodes, but what most people miss is that the challenge isn't taking control of the machine, it's taking control of the coin supply which is a prerequisite. That's a question of budget and market liquidity and it brings us into a domain of consideration that goes beyond any one coin. I look at that scenario as "the NSA vs all of crypto" because that's how they would look at it. Each cryptocurrency has different strengths and weaknesses and different types of market appeal. The only defence any of them have against being "bought up" is the very market diversity that we fight over in these stupid troll debates. I commented on this for Strix yesterday in a slightly different context, the thing with Masternodes and the way Masternode Blinding is implemented is either you own them all or you don't have anything. Here is my comment to Strix I hope you guys find it useful in this context.
Mangled B, please don't ignore me, though I admit I may be stupid, I am really trying to understand and am NOT trolling. I admit that I have been persuaded by the single crusty bread crumb. It just sounds logical to me, but I also respect you and your opinion. What is it that I am not getting. The only argument that I have heard in opposition to 51% concerns, is that self interest will keep miners from taking advantage of their power. Is there more to it than this. PLEASE help me out here; I will certainly sleep better if you can. Strix,I think you got confused, people were trying to say there was an issue with someone controlling lets say 51% of Masternodes, is a misplaced extrapolation from the 51% mining issue or how much we are used to simple majority meaning something. In the case of Masternodes, a set of 20 Masternodes is randomly selected for each transaction, so even if you control a large percentage of the network lets say 90% your chances of following transaction are non existent. Here are the probabilities of someone actually following through the Darksend process as it stands today. Each round uses 20 random masternodes of 2300, so you must control 20 of 2300 four times in a row. It's super secure .
Here's the new probablities for each successive round: - 1 rounds with 10 masternodes is ((10/2300.0)^20)^1 == 5.826976675086318e-48 - 2 rounds with 10 masternodes is ((10/2300.0)^20)^2 == 3.3953657171999996e-95 - 3 rounds with 10 masternodes is ((10/2300.0)^20)^3 == 1.9784716837512123e-142 - 4 rounds with 1000 masternodes is ((1000/2300.0)^20)^4 == 1.1528508353537028e-29 * attacker controlled With regards to the 51% mining thing, I think you can read online about that a lot as it relates to all Proof of Work coins.

So heres the point we're saying it is secure and private!....your saying its broken/weak/non-secure.....your the one spewing that....so the onus is on you to prove to the people out there that you think are listening to you....or else you look like a lier and a man of ill repute. A tolling douche bag... so genius and hacking guru...prove it to us. FURTHER... NO ONE CARES about the INSTAMINE SCAM you yup about, old news and no one cares....THERE WE ADDRESSED it ...and we nor anyone else cares. OLD OLD OLD NEWS! Your voice is becoming a whimper of depair.

DASH DEVELOPMENT:MONERO DEVELOPMENT:I also don't generally think it's a good idea to get tribal about what is ultimately a technical project, but those guys ( <-- racist term according to smooth) are beyond the pale.
So you're going to get tribal then. Okay, I guess you are off my short list of non-retarded DRK supporters. They've chosen to turn a technical agenda into a question of professional integrity and that's a war they're going to loose.
Incorrect. There are technical questions and there are questions about the scam instamine/premine. Both are legitimate criticisms of this project, but they distinct and one does not supersede the other. I think what's happened is that when cryptonote came on the scene they thought they 'clean up' the anon space. Then when they didn't they started plastering all this "cryptography is king" stuff all over the place with such an odious sense of entitlement and arrogance that that didn't work either.
Incorrect. Nobody decided to "clean up the scene." In the cryptonote case, we saw some best-of-breed cryptography (acknowledged by many experts, I won't bore you with the references, as I'm sure you've seen them) that was being run as a scam in a deceptive manner using a fraudulently concealed premined, and coins spamming campaign, and a bunch of nonsense stories about the dark web and aliens. So logically we decided to fork it and run it as an open-source project independent of the crazy premine-hiding and alien-crediting people. In this case I see some mediocre technology and a lot of stories being repeated in order to cast the most innocent possible light on an instamine/premine scam that when examined critically looks highly suspicious at best. There is no plot and no plan, just a couple of different situations, involving a different people for different reasons. Furthermore I find this who anti-cryptography rant you seem to be on to be quite absurd, give that we are all here because of cryptocurrencies. Its very amusing to see you spin using sound cryptography and rigorous methods as solutions to problems as being somehow inappropriate. With that attitude toward software design and development, you should probably go work on web sites or something else equally trivial. Then they discovered this "instamine" business as if "hey we're onto something here" - no, that didn't wash either cos it's only been the favourite haunt of every fudster that even walked these threads for a year. Next - lowest of low - attack the dev's competence and finally, in desperation his personal integrity.
You're grasping. The issues here are the instamine/premine, what actually happened vs. how it is being expalined/spun today, mediocre snake-oil anonymity, and a dangerous ponzi-like investment scheme. If you don't like where that leads when examined critically, that is your burden to bear. That's rather hilarious I have to say. i doubt you can find a single shred of evidence that anyone associated with Moenro has ever had or expressed any interest in forking darkcoin or doing anything whatsoever with darkcoin, nor that any of us ever viewed cryptonote as an alternative to anything. I've suggested that someone go ahead and fork it to get out from under the shadow of the instamine/premine if the technology is supposedly so damn good, but I'm sure not interested in anything like that. You should also go ahead and trace some Monero ring signatures while sitting on a toilet. It's so easy, just do it or GTFO. INVESTORS, WHAT WOULD YOU BACK WITH YOUR MONEY, REAL DEVELOPMENT, OR BICKERING IN AN INTERNET FORUM?
I know what I chose. I rest my case.

Again - I think JL was posing a genuine point. I don't think he's a "thick skull". I "mis-spoke". I wasn't referring to JL as a thick skull directly, I meant to say I heard that NSA-argument many times from trolls and I got tired of it. I apologize. As for your other points I think Minotaur eloquently explained the futility of government agencies attempts to track Dash users. But by all means: Let them buy the coin supply! I could live with being richer than Warren Buffett

I've update the animation to include the new logo... All donations welcome Great Job once again! I like this one but i liked your original one better. After someone mentioned it i keep seeing the A as an R. Never noticed until then though, lol. I also prefer it to just say Digital Cash like the original. Hopefully they will keep tweaking the winning logo until it's perfect. I think it's almost there.

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release. Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5% Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1) = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

Smooth, as someone who holds some Monero (less and less over time, admittedly), you make me very nervous with the amount of time you spend in the Dash thread slandering other developers instead of working on your own technology. You and Fluffypony need to figure out that if you put more of your time into development, and show that your technology a positive future, the community will see this promise and will defend the tech for you- as has happened with Dash. Their developers don't get involved in circular arguments that waste everyone's time on anonymous message boards ("You prove this", "No, you prove this", etc). They focus on improving their product and they get things done. Positivity will trump negativity every time.
I understand that you have "concern" that people are choosing the "wrong" technology, and that you're "concerned" for late-comers about the amount of coins released early on. I came in "late" and I researched all of the facts and I still invested in Dash. You come off as very greedy and obviously aren't concerned for anyone other than yourself. As an investor in your product, I ask you to please worry about your own project and don't come here making up reasons to bash someone else's.
Well, I think I'm gonna like having you around Oh my god, this is even better than quoting child_harold in your signature! I wonder if this would fit...
