I guess someone else got more votes, thing I dont understand is, don't the people in the pool that didn't win, get put back in the pool for another chance?  Gotta Read eduffield's post again....

When you see 1 vote, that's not enough to actually make the system skip. It skips on 2 or more.

Exactly, so why isn't he paid in 12 days?  I see nothing where he won 2 or more votes.

His MN payments seem to have been regular untill 01-09-2015 at which he made a selfpayment of 28,5 Dash,
making his balance 1000 again.

At this point i would seriously think about stopping the server and at least remove the peers.dat & mncache before restarting it,
maybe some clients got him blocked ?

More draconic measures would be to delete everything (except dash.conf & wallet.dat & masternode.conf)
and resync from scratch.

Then keep an eye on the number of votes that masternode is getting afterwards with command :
"$ dash-cli masternode winners 2000 | grep Xb7qiTRzJJewfby9eXGeAcYMN7RNGgPnBw" to see if it gets more votes.

sound suggestions, thanks!

Thanks all for taking notice of my issue and looking into it.    I assume this is not the only MN that is having this "luck"?  My other nodes have had no issues and now we are passing 13 days with no payment.   We are waiting a bit longer and then we will just wipe and restart that server which will end up taking longer than the permitted time and shove it to the back of the list.   Might be close to a full month without a payment which .. well, we all know that sucks.  =)

It would be nice to find out why this happened so it doesn't happen to many more nodes.

thnx all!

Once you're in the front of the queue, you have a 1/300 chance of getting selected each block. So it's statistically likely that a few nodes will go 10+ days in between payments, but most of the network will paid within a day of getting into that queue.

Lets make some predictions towards the end of this year (31-12-2015), i will start with mine :

* number of active masternodes : 3500
* price : 0.01400000

I guess i'm feeling a bit bullish and its only based on vague feelings...

Having approx 500 MN I get to see examples of this and a couple did go to 13 days before being paid, I raised the isue with Holger:

MN 216 & 311 are now 12 days without reward, I assume it's just variance but maybe best to make sure that they're Ok:

...

Hi,

yeah, these are weird - guessing on variance as well, but i'll forward these to Eugene and Evan to have a look why they have such "bad luck" Smiley

...

I've checked back with Evan - the nodes were simply unlucky and should get paid on next cycle. Evan will likely fix that in the next version (Dash v13).

...
...

So the issue is know and being addressed, I'd not re-start if you can wait a little more may be best if like my case, hope that this helps.

Technical discussion didn't help because everything what Dash need as a digital cash, gets implemented.

So lets drag about instamine at the beginning again, where many miners (smarter than this poor, sacrificed soul Kiss) were ready with their linux, rigs and eager to mine.

It is easier to be an aggressive victim than to be a free man.

Hm, today if someone (Otoh) owns, for example, 1000 MNs, he gets ~ 516.9 DASH per day, so he can produce 1 new MN every 2 days (15 MNs per month). How does community rate this fact in case of DASH decentralization?

I have 642 MN under my control, with approx 30 of those that I manage for other people, this number has been constant for quite a while now as others are buying all the rewards that I care to spare atm to set up their own masternodes mostly, though one guy who buys regularly actively trades the coins I see.

Edit, thanks alex-ru, yep the % of the total number of MN that I hold has been decreasing recently, I'm pretty happy with my present number.

Oops, more lies from Otoh! Does 500 sound more "decentralized" Otoh? or do you just have so many coins you simply lost track of the other 130,000 DASH?  Roll Eyes

DASH: The coin built from the ground up on lies and deception, and supported by toxic whales who will say just about anything if it means propping the price up for a little longer. Come on guys hurry up and buy some masternodes Otoh needs to get the most out of his whale dumps (AKA "controlled burn")

Did you delete "chainstate" (in the Dash folder). Thats what worked for me a while back.

Wiping and re-installing sounds a bit harsh. I think the full list of "reset" items to delete includes: peers.dat, mnpayment.dat, mncache.dat, budget.dat, blocks and chainstate folders.

(See for example https://dashtalk.org/threads/v12-testing-thread.5484/page-134 from a while back when people were having issues with an early version of v12).

INSTAMINE ALERT

Attention: The developers and insiders scam instamined over 1.5 million DASH in the first 8 hours of launch then lied about it.

SCAM IN PROGRESS

Number of Dash instamined in the first 8 hours of launch: 1,567,052 or 27.13% of current coin supply (7.83% of TOTAL supply that will ever exist)

Number of Dash instamined in the first 24 hours of launch: 1,868,604 or 32.36% of current coin supply (9.34% of TOTAL supply that will ever exist)

The developer and insider mined 9.34% of tatal coin  first 8hours.
If this fact is true, this coin has 9.34% premine coin.
Is it possible in coin mining schedule ?

hummmm - found this....

http://cryptovoter.com/

It looks like they create several bitcoin vanity deposit addresses.  Voters send funds to the address of their choice to vote.  So effectively, whoever has the most bitcoins has the most influence on the vote.  Pretty close to the way corporations work with most governments, LOL.

Maybe they enforce signatures or something, but really there is nothing stopping someone from creating 1000s of wallets to vote.

Now that I think of it, this would be like ebay for voting.  That last block will have a ton of bids, I mean votes, to make sure their choice wins.

It doesn't matter when they vote, only that they've moved the most amount of money back to themselves.

"Add up the balances of addresses between blocks x and y starting with the prefix 1Q11"
is what I got out of the youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7TWpwWvhpU

Seems very game-able.
And, anybody can create vanity addresses to obfuscate public review of the voting results.

Some kind of interface would have to be built to filter the signal from the noise, then you'd have to trust the interface.

--

Dash can do secure voting, maybe we should get everybody a masternode.

Actually, the voting ends at a certain block.  There would be no reason to send 1000s of transactions early in the vote as it would create competition.  So you wait until the bock before the votes are counted and put enough BTC in to make your choice win.  Just like the end of an ebay auction.

Thanks for the video link.  If the BTC are returned to you, there is still a cost in fees.  Most likely an automated program can be created to create the wallets, vanity addresses, and vote.  So maybe a combination of smarts and BTC would win the vote.

I see. I didn't think much about the transaction fees. Was thinking about how large deposits would be handled.

What if I put 1000 BTC into one vote? 1 into 1000 addresses?  Totaling up the balances just seems wrong.

also, a few hours after my post my masternode got it's payment... maybe I should have posted earlier? Everything seems to be working. Note to self: just wait and stop worrying Smiley

Glad you got your payment.  I tell people that all the time.

--

For everybody still waiting, many of us still have a few nodes in the 11-12 day range. Just be patient.

The new selection algorithm is much better at randomizing the selected masternode.
This makes it much harder for an attacker to predict where the next mix is going to occur.
This deterministic randomization comes at the cost of nodes being skipped once in a while, but the payments will even out over time.

Before, things were too 'clockwork' -- it was easy to know which masternodes were up for selection:
(columns are nodes, rows are dates, dots are tiny payment amounts.
This is a sample from some of the nodes on masternode.me)

Now, selections are nice and dispersed:

To make sure you're node is configured correctly, download dashman and run 'dashman status'

If everything's green, don't mess with your node. And don't send any masternode starts/start-many if it's already started.

Code:
sudo apt-get install git
git clone https://github.com/moocowmoo/dashman.git
cd dashman
./dashman status
