Could this be somehow coupled to the servers running a pool, like if you are running a pool, you will need to run a masternode instance... etc.. This would bring a totally new coin concept to the market? As i understood the cost to run a masternode will be 1000 DRK .
1000 DRK is way too high, i understand you ambition but it would eventually prevent a healthy amount of masternodes.
I would host masternodes worth 2000 DRK, i even have the option to provide different IP geo locations, if one masternode costs 1000 DRK to run i can only host two with my budget. NSA can host thousands!!!!
Please consider that there indeed should be a monetary hurdle but it should be considered really, really carefully. Because probably the advantages outweight the disadvantages from lowering the monetary hurdle.
I really want to urge you to double think about that! 150 - 500 DRK should be much enough to host a masternode!
Best Regards,

Lotteryminning is closing down the pool - we are getting too small, and people seem to only want to mine at the big pools... The pool will be turned of 22nd of april - Please withdraw your funds.. any funds left on that date will be considered pools property.. and used for happenings at a later date BUT

Some help, please.
Why would you continue to use Bitcoin, if Darkcoin offers anonymity?
So far:
1. Bitcoin is established and has brand recognition 2. Bitcoin has ATMs 3. Bitcoin has many fiat to crypto exchanges 4. Bitcoin has many payment processors 5. Bitcoin has a secure network 6. Bitcoin has an extensive and established development team 7. Bitcoin has regulatory advocates 8. Bitcoin was first and has many users around the world 9. Bitcoin is the standard exchange between all alt-coins
Secondly, why would you bother using Litecoin, if Darkcoin offers anonymity?
Edit:
I'm writing a frame for Darkcoin PR which will be released for comment, edits, etc.
Will cover, in no particular order:
* E-cash for the internet * Bitcoin, e-cash and anonymity * Alternatives that offer anonymity * Darkcoin vs. zerocash and dark wallet * Legitimate uses of e-cash * Cash vs. e-cash
Why bother with Litecoin? IMO, we can kick their butt and get that no.2 spot this year.

I wrote a PM to one of the dev (LimLims, I think). I would like to know if there are any open bounty for an italian translation (of the official topic, website, wallet, and so on). Sorry but in the bounty list I saw all the languages except mine, and I've recently invested a bit in darkcoin too, so I would like to increase my little stash No official bounty, but you are welcome to do the translation (when the new site is up) and you are likely to get some donations out of appreciation. I'll throw a few DRK in. Hi, as a start I've translated the official topic here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=555494.0I'll keep it updated with new info. I've done it for free, if someone wanna tip you can do it at the following address: XxFpu3N684SpipWnDDVEJp3iJVCmvoKc6o (it's a temporary address, I still don't have a wallet because of connection issue). I would really like to translate the new website, or any guide/paper/whatever is needed for this project, there are too much shitcoin around, I think it's for the best interest of everyone to promote just the innovative coin. LimLims, if you are working on a new site and would like the translation to be ready by launch, just contact me.

If, say, the NSA can acquire 200k DRK (not necessarily through buying, but by hacking an exchange), then they can either run 200 nodes of 1000DRK each, or 400 nodes of 500 DRK each. It doesn't change the dynamic really for them - except that they'll be running far more nodes thus increasing their probabilities. What changes is that the threshold for smaller stakeholders is lower and thus more people could host nodes with a lesser amount of DRKs. If more small stakeholders go in, then they can increase the ratio of honest nodes vs puppet nodes controlled by single entities. I brought up the 1000 DRK requirement earlier, Evan said that the price is indicative, not final. Same goes for the miners fee towards the master block.

I was thinking along the same lines.
With 1000DRK there is a financial barrier to most people except governments and corporates which governments can easily influence.
Spreading the node network around, while providing a financial barrier to bad actors should still be open for discussion.
What happens when 1,000 DRK is worth $1m, $5m or $20m? Would nodes suddenly go offline as people cash-up and retire to the beach?
Maybe variable rates? Ping distribution detection to find really big clusters?

I'm sure it will be scaled, like transaction fees are scaled in Bitcoin. I think currently 1000 is too little, each coin is only 60 cents, so we are talking $600 dollars to run a node, which isn't bad at all. Personally I'd like to see it at $800-$1000.

As far as I understand this, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg6039340#msg6039340- any node could be master node(Won election, and hold 1000DRK) - election code will be in main client So I propose the following solution, each block the last master node will receive 10% of the mining reward (in addition to the reward given to the miner). So for example, if the mining reward was 19DRK the last master node will automatically receive 1.9DRK.
At the present moment we have a chicken and egg problem. We need master nodes to support darksend and we don't want to go live with 1 or 2 master nodes. To solve this we will implement the election code into the main client, along with the payments to master nodes while DarkSend is still beta.
As reward will be given automatically, change of p2pool's subsidy function will be needed. p2pool-drk has 32 nodes. I don't think a p2pool requisite is viable option. Run normal client holding 1000 DRk VS Run normal client plus p2pool(require a lot of setup)

There was a discussion yesterday about password or encryption and requiring two doors to breakdown before you can get DRK out the wallet.

Will the mastenode auto-generate random address and take it from there to move the node further from the hot wallet? Kuroshi also means pain/sad. Wouldn't go for that
