Has the hasrate dropped by any chance?
I expect there is a ton of miners mining the wrong blockchain.

I hope DarkCoin does not fall victim to the same long slow slide maxcoin did.

It's hard to keep up with all these messages! But here's my reply.

MaxCoin was never serious, never brought anything except a tongue and cheek endorsement from Max K. to the table. Which is fine for a hype coin, but that's all it was.

Bitcoin is striving to become more and more mainstream. Read through CoinDesk, it's about ATMs, merchant acceptance, etc. So what does this mean? When BTC starts showing up on Google, Ebay, etc. (And I truly believe it's just a matter of time), there will be a "non-mainstream" void left in its place. There will be greater accountability and less transparency involved with BTC (perhaps through regulation).

So there will arise a greater demand for something for the folks who don't want a mainstream currency that offers a certain level of privacy that BTC won't. Is it going to be DRK? I don't know, no one does. But you can't deny the attention that it's received the past month (and even before it when you look back at the hash power that was consistently on DRK without it being very profitable... I know I wish I had ignored that and just kept mining it straight).

So it's an investment/bet on Evan & DRK perhaps emerging as the (or one of the) coins that will fill the inevitable void that a mainstream BTC will leave us.

Just my thoughts.

Perfect, thanks!  Either post your BTC address or PM it to me.  If you'd prefer DRK, do the conversion (I'm lazy) and let me know what it is.

It would not surprise me if BADASS, camosoul and turturro are the largest holders of darkcoin.

I am, and I've never been bashful about saying so. What's your point?

The developers need to treat this as a MAJOR coin and employ professional level communication and management with the community helping the process. If you are not going to treat your own coin with respect, no one else will.

The Developer, singular, has been pushed very hard and very fast into a position he was never planning to be in. The community has pushed him to treat very early beta software as if it's production level.

I'm surprised he's still putting up with it. He's a victim of his own success, too much, too fast.

Find a coin with a team of developers that does even 1/10th the work he has done. I DARE you.

The man is stressed, and even had to come back to this crap on Memorial Day Weekend.

If telling it like it is makes me a member of the "cult of evan" then so be it. Ask the BitCoin Foundation to get anything accomplished... Go ahead. They're a bureaucracy of petty bullshit and shady characters no different than the government printing inflated fiat...
+1
This is quite funny as camosoul has been adding to Evan's stress via useless comments!
I'm quite sure that Evan has more important things to do than sit around and read useless comments.

Lols, I distract the harassers. I draw attention away from those who would otherwise be targeted, and their time wasted. Figure it out you morons...

From IRC: [17:26] <@evan82> kaene, someone attacked the network using the masternode fork and destabilized it
Good to get that confirmed. Any more info on the nature of the attack?
I suspected as much, posted way back there... But still just suspect it... It would be a really convenient scapegoat, but is also entirely plausible given the money spent on trolls who admit to getting paid...

They had just as long to plan it as everyone else had to get on the right clients...

Adds up to concerted attack with DDoS in on it now...

Back when DarkSend was in alpha trials on testnet, people had a meeting to test darksends out. I remember a test got cancelled due to a forked network or something and I also remember darksend nodes (I think evan was hosting the only node then) getting ddosed so that darksends are stuck and not executed. That's like 3 months ago.

Buy some DRK if you want but dont bet your house on it. Mandatory hard fork tomorrow to remove masternode payments, we have a long way to go before there is resolution, not to mention darksend and new feature delays for weeks or even months.

I remember it, too. I was there.

RC2 = Still alpha trial...

Wait, I thought we ended up doing the emergency fork this evening?  Am I mistaken?

No you are not mistaken. We are already past that point. All is good now we just need for the network to stabilize and expect some official communication soon about the incident.

Tomorrows fork was pushed forth today to resolve it immediately. It's done.

Now, maybe this is when we find out the closed source client has a backdoor... heh.

You're all nuts for using something like this that hasn't been peer-reviewed, IMO.

Be interesting to see what happens to DRK when people clue in that Monero is more secure and anonymous.

Actually the mandatory hard fork happened 4 hours ago.  He changed it almost immediately to NOW!

First, learn the difference between affect and effect. Second, what are you smoking? XC is in an even more primitive state than any of the Cryptonote coins, which are also pitiful.
