I assume this is just more silly FUD:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=637195.0  However, could someone over here please tear it apart ASAP.  I have a lot of money in Dark and this is the kind of thing a think a lot of people are worried about at the back of their minds.  Does everyone on the development side know everyone's background more or less? Did anyone start buying fancy toys before the price rise? I think I read some of the code is closed source. Was it vetted on your side to make sure it isn't "phoning home" to Putin or Obama?
Man, just read next 3 replys after this "government" guy Wink

I am a new DRK investor I bought yesterday right at the top (0.024). After it crash overnight and I was tempted to sell but did not. However I was thinking and it feel like every big players bought coins knowing the Bitfinex news and then dump on all the little guys when the news came out. If being on a huge exchange like that doesn't make the price rise what will Huh

If you called this crash I wonder what the first mt gox hack was.
Probably you would have jumped from a building at that time

  • hearing good things abour masternode development
  • over $60MM valuation
  • no serious contenders in sight

Probably it's 100% FUD but I would say 99.9%.

Cryptos bring out the worst and best in people. There are some very desperate people around that will stop at nothing to make money. In fact, I know one of them from Shanghai in China. He is jealous his friend holds lots of Darks, so now he is pumping XC. lol.  Cheesy

Some ?  I think that in the last year the % of people entering cryptos just to make some quick $ has got to 90%.

Forget what cryptos were supposed to be , right now it's just about the money , spread fud to drop the coins lower , buy in , spread fake good news to pump it  and start again.

Don't forget to launch a new coin every week and do the same.

best is that Koolio jumped the ship as the price was dipping a bit and shouting like a little kid against DRK. That made me lol pretty hard after the price recovered

If you seriously fear this, then don't buy anything funny with drk until the source is completely open, which should take only few weeks.

i would like to point out.... it might be not even desirable to have 100% NSA proofed annonimity... This would probably cause an arms race... that would lead to nowhere... an sufficient anonymity for 99% ot the legal privat transaction ist absolutly enought. It needs to be hard enought for anybody to look into it so theat they simply only do it in cases where they believe there might be heavy crime involved.

I don't fear anything about the coins. From my point of view it can be even a coin released by the cia and the nsa and the red army working together.

If it brings me any advantage I will use it. I'm not going to live in a cave just because of the fear of my calls being taped.

Hi guys

I am new in darkcoin world... Following this debate for some days now, but indeed, I do not know how to answer these questions from adaseb below...
So, I think it would be benefitial to all (especially newcomers), if we can answer them ... So, can you please help me find the answers for them, and I would encourage every answer to be backed with a fact (or link to fact)... This way, we can put some never-ending debates and speculation to an end.

Also, if I get help in producing quality answers, I will do a periodic follow up, putting together new facts... I believe that not a lot of users have time to read thru new 20+ pages of this thread every day, so I'll try to do a summary of vital stuff...

cheers,
Wg

Also, few rookie question regarding master nodes (MNs)...

1.
Are they enabled and necessary in production release - with current binaries?

2.
Can user with 1000 DRKs become a MN now on real network (not testnet)?

3.
Is there some advantage for user to do this now (before profit sharing to MNs - is this proper way to name this?)?

4.
Are MNs something that currently only works (because of recent problems/fork/debugging) on testnet?

If yes - and if user wants to assist development - do you connect to testnet and setup a MN there with real DRKs, or how does that work?

thanks for helping me understand,
cheers,
Wg

Wow @ that reddit posts. Has been taken over with MRO and XC sales pitches. Sad to see MRO doing it but can't blame as some might be hearing about MRO for the first time there and will get curious. Also it is amazing to see how much everyone is using XC as a tool to drag down Darkcoin for the time being, even after knowing about the whole scam.

Pretty amazing to see Darkcoin thriving despite all the FUDs. How are the good guys finding this coin and building markerts/applications around it is stunning given the level of paranoia actually exceeded more than I had anticipated !!

1. What is the ROI on masternodes if there are 500 masternodes? 50% annual ROI in Drks.

2. Why is drk fundamentally more valuable than ltc? Drk offers decentralisation against ASICS + a decentralised privacy solution.

3. What gave ltc value versus btc in the first place? Ltc value increased primarily due to ASIC centralisation in Btc into large data mining centres, which increased the risk that Gov'ts could take over these data centres and co-opt the bitcoin protocol

4. Why is decentralised privacy via masternodes better than ring signatures? Because ring signatures produce highly bloated blockchains.

If you cannot answer those question, you do not know the value of what you are holding.

Answers above.

I think I have never seen more FUD against a coin than against darkcoin.

And I was there when NXT launched Cheesy

If the project succeeds and Evan manages to get it all well implemented - it will be around ltcs market cap.

If he fails this will be where aurora is now.

Yeah it is part sad and part funny.

Time will always determine was is a scam and what isn't... and after Darksend is open-sourced and vetted the people slandering DRK in that thread will look VERY stupid.
