Yes. But the coin is dying and there is a tiny window to save it by creating a Btc mixing service to get new Btc into the coin. Do it while the marketcap is large enough to handle decent volume.

This is the view of from my holiday house....but instead I spend some of my time dealing with FUD from those who don't see that alt-coins are R&D for Bitcoin which has to move like a tanker now it is so big and can't change course so easily.

R&D alt-coins that are aligned with Bitcoin can have their own value, or Bitcoin can one day try to integrate any of the features the market has deemed valuable.

It also means those types of transactions that Bitcoin would rather not be conducted through Bitcoin, well they can be conducted elsewhere to help Bitcoin with its image problems.

Trolling here is shooting Bitcoin in the foot.  Some people are just too stupid to understand the bigger picture of these things....

the thing is that darkcoin is not really r&d for bitcoin as far as anon and masternodes go. darkcoin maybe r&d for darkwallet to copy but that does not solve their centralization issue and other issues. that's why dark should stay closed source for many months while reassuring investors with several code reviews from people like kristov, andreas antonopoulos and maybe greg maxwell etc.

bitcoin can't do anon and masternodes without a hard fork and they won't do that. so darkcoin is a real threat to bitcoin holders long term and they know it. we have several bitcoin trolls here who hate alts and just use them as p&d's.

The thing with the trolls is easy and has been abundantly repeated: just put in ignore. They pretend they do not understand, they say lies, they poke, they make noise and disturb. That's their role here, they've been paid to do just that (probably by some whales trying to grab ous DRKs lol, as if I would sell under this kind of pressure...)

There's one thing called reputation, and any person that wastes time trolling and spreading FUD is loosing reputation... and reputation is harder to get than money...

(Actually, I even find it good to see all these trolls, because it means we are important, or else they wouldn't be wasting their time here )

I must say I am/was really convinced about drk so I took a large amount of my btc in the last weeks to buy drk but I'm questioning myself now if it was a big mistake. And still when I think about it, it should be gaining value, all of the improvements that have been made lately and all the things you can do with these masternodes. Its a brand new concept that seems to work with probably endless possibilities and yet price is only falling ??

Because everyone was expecting a huge price bump for RC4. Except market-wise when RC4 was released BTC started to move downwards. Alts get slaughtered when BTC starts moving down. DRK held up surprisingly well, until after the RC4 release when people realized the price wasn't going to immediately pump. The reason for this was that money was exiting the crypto market in general, so obviously it would be hard to increase DRK's price as BTC is falling because BTC is the gateway into crypto.

The reason RC3 pushed the market so well is because the market was primed for it, and was waiting for news on which to move. By market, I generally mean market makers, IE what some people may commonly refer to as whales. There was a feeling of general optimism as the BTC price was stable/increasing.

Another thing. When you have lengthy periods of stability in BTC, which have been rare in its history, people look for profits elsewhere; IE, altcoin markets. Traders are like crackheads who constantly need a fix. If BTC stabilizes you'll see them complaining all over the place about the stability. They want volatility so they can make money.

So, to recap... BTC price falls... People flee alts to btc to fiat... thereby alt prices suffer greatly. Even if they are totally legitimate coins with bright futures, they are not immune when BTC goes down. Will alts forever be tied to btc? Who knows, but it's the way it is right now.
