...12M for 6650 sounds very interesting ...

Yes it does sound interesting, but I would like to know if this new version will be more stable than the current batch?  Folks like myself who have got the LA3M/LA6M devices...we're seeing a wide range of hash rates per device...and the stability of the controller/firmware has A LOT of subtle debugging/fixing work that needs to be done on it before it can be considered releasable to the general public.

So I'd really like to get one of these but I would want to see at least 2 of the moderators or elite forum members get these in advance to confirm they work as promised for a minimum of 1 week before they actually go on sale.

Hi I ordered on the Litecoin forum. I exchanged pms with jack and he assured me that my order would ship in 1 week. I paid 5400 for the LA6M via bank wire on the 11th. My bank said that the "next day wire" transfer was complete within two days. On the 19th Angela confirmed that they had received my money and said they "booked shipping please wait." At this point there is still no tracking number from Angela. I called DHL yesterday and they said there was nothing shipped yet from Hong Kong to my zipcode. Its frustrating seeing that orders placed after mine have been filled.  Huh

In the same boat, but I paid with BTC on the 12th for one LA3M.  Have still not received any payment confirmation or tracking info.  I sent an email 2 days ago, and got this reply:

"hi
i will check it,
thanks
Angela
"
... Still nothing. Not even an acknowlegement that they received my payment.  I am still hopeful that Jack will make good on his end, but I do share in the frustration others are having.  Sad

I want to confirm that the product is real and I am hashing away at around 2.6kh - 2.8kh/s. I can take a picture if people need proof, now I'm waiting for the rest coming.

THe second half of my order is also suffering from no communication. Not exactly sure why so you're not alone. I got my first set already.

If scrypt mining, doesn't get hot at all.

How are we meant to contact tech support on these? I have seen others report having one of Jack's techs log into their controller to fix the restart problem they have. My controllers restart frequently, so the miners can never really get into a groove. I would like to get this fixed.

Lol tech support? Better off speaking to other forum members to address the issue you won't get help from asiabtc

Well I need to have one of his techs log into my controllers and change the setting that is causing them to restart every hour or so. Since we aren't given the login info for the controllers, I can't do it myself...but someone else said they had one of Jack's techs do it.

Can't you demand access to your own controller? I guess they have made custom software which they can protect. imo I prefer to have access to it rather than be slave to a closed loop system and unable to do anything custom. Much like apple ecosystem.

Yeh, they are real. See here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=476338.msg5252781#msg5252781

I have been hashing away from January 17th. They have their short-comings but it helps in certain situation. Like people who still mine from home and have maxed out their power circuits. And they run very cool. In Australia, where the last couple months my GPU rigs are subjected to 40+ degrees of heat. That solves my heat and thus stability problems.

does anyone have any more info on those 12mhs boxed units that where going to be released.
are those also overclockable and is there any pricing or release date known at this point?

finding info in this thread is a nightmare. the first post should be updated and kept up to date.

First batch (200 units) available for shipping in 3-4 weeks. Price $6650.

To give everyone a heads up. I am speaking to the same channels in china. Those 12mhs units are vapourware atm. Yes, a team is working on that, in a form factor of 2 blades like antminers i heard. Imo, they are at least 8-10 weeks away, which is more realistic. Think about it, these GS miners just started selling, so the company will milk at least a few months out of it before introducing another range. I don't know about the price either. I guess some people will believe it and pay for it in pre-order.

The 1TH btc unit is real. A couple of weeks away from selling but I have seen them run at 1.1th at 870w. Whether its good value depends on the final price.

Well, so far the best I can get out of a set of 10 is about 3.5Mh/s (850MHz)...a far cry from the 5Mh/s or so in the "secret picture" Jack has in the original post. I hope this is going to be something we can expect with a future firmware update to the controller. I tried turning the little voltage dial up on the power supplies, but it didn't appear to have any noticeable effect.

Had to cut and strip the power cables for the PSUs but it was the green/ground white/neg black/pos wiring someone else posted here, so that was easy. All of my miner cables were correctly colored. Unfortunately, the power cable for one of the USB hubs was bad out of the box...but I had another cable in my giant box of spares that works.

Setting these up is a cable management nightmare, but I've got it to where I'm happy with it. Now I'm just going to leave them overnight to do their thing and see how it goes. I had one of the controllers reset randomly on its own once, that I noticed - hopefully that isn't a frequent occurrence.

So far, I like these little guys...they look unique and the gadget factor is there. I just wish I could get the 500Kh/s performance seen in that photo...I wish Jack would tell us what was done to achieve that!

Are you having problems with the controller? Every 12-14 hours my controller randomly craps out and randomly starts working again a few hours later after unplugging+ replugging it in over and over again.

Yes...it's really annoying. I have no idea what's causing it, other than it just being a piece of junk.

Also, fun with screen shots time...Jack's "secret photo" in the OP is what made me decide to buy these, figuring that if they each did 500Kh/s, that would make them worth the investment. Unfortunately, I've only managed to average around 350Kh/s each. However, at one point after switching from 800MHz to 850MHz I did see this reported by the dashboard (see screenshot). Proof positive that anyone can post a "Wow look at these high hashrates" screenshot as a form of semi-false advertising on the Gridseed performance. Unless something radically changes, you won't see this kind of performance.

How do you get your controllers up and working again?

They seem to randomly cycle themselves for unknown reasons but occasionally when they stop responding via the web interface it requires you to power cycle them. Really annoying, got to train my wife how to do it so we dont have downtime while I am at work.

Yeah even after power cycling it isnt working... have you tried the reset button on the side of the controller? I dont want to use it if it screws up everything

I don't know about the proprietary LightningAsic units, but my Gridseed factory ones are pretty stable, though not perfect. They can hash at 3.5-4mh. I never believed the 5mh. Had been tinkering with them for over a month.

Another thing is LightningAsic have "forked" their own controller and locked it. I don't know why people would consider this. I don't think the support is there compared to the progress made by the actual GS team in Beijing, who I have much more faith in. They have built wiibox.net and it works pretty well. In any case, if you want advanced stats then you can at lease mod your own controller through ssh. There are some modders out there floating around in China doing a good job with the open source.

Dhl tracking still says "shipment information received", which means that they don't actually have the package.

Jack said 2 things:
1) the units would be shipped before feb 20, otherwise he would give a refund.
2) the units thanks to a phantomatic would be able to hash at 500khash

None of them turned out to be true, and those were the reasons that made me order this things

update : my order has been shipped Smiley (feb 24)

What's 1:4 in your worker's name?

Do you have 10 different workers in the Worker's Name list separated by commas?

Example:

login.wk1, login.wk2, etc... up to 10.

Use the 1 password for all.

What usb hub are you using? A orico, unitek or xipolar or something else?

I can always create consignments in fedex/dhl without arranging pickup. Just saying. You better chase it up.

(3) I could not locate a firmware update of any kind for the wiibox controller.  Anyone know where to find?  Beastlymac mentions such an upgrade, but I do not see it anywhere.

Also would love to know this as my wiibox controller was originally mining ok but is now stuck with this offline issue where no work is done.  I'm hoping doing a factory reset on it might clear things.

(5) In the screenshot above, you can see the USB power is cycling.  Not sure if this is the problem but I cannot get it to start hashing at all.   I am using the supplied powered hub and power supplies.  Note I disconnected 5 units to make testing/troubleshooting simpler, but I do have 10

My unit is also stuck with this issue, sometimes units show up offline like this, sometimes they show up online with 0Kh/s.

I think the problem could come the USB hub. I have one LA3M which wasn't hashing at all, not detecting the units. By trial and error using parts from the other LA3M, I went to the conclusion the USB hub was causing the issues.

You have two leds : one red, when you switch on power, and one green, when you connect the hub to the controller. On the faulty hub, the green led never switches on.
Please check if you have the same problem (red light on, green ligh off). If yes then you need to replace the hub (not easy to find !)

Eric

FYI,

When you turn them on, green light comes on and there is a slow red blink like every 5 secs. Its powering up and and contacting pool

In single LTC mode, green light is constantly on and red light flashes intermittently like once a couple of seconds. This means it is hashing.

In dual mode, green light and red light blinks really fast. That means its hashing both.

Anything else and it's indicating problems.

Also, for those that switch from dual mode to single. You have to do a HARD reset, turn off power from the wall. Otherwise with a soft reset sometimes it gets stuck and is mining LTC but using 600w instead of 115w. A kill-a-watt confirms that.

I didn't realize this but its very subtle. In the instructions it says you have to also fill out the bitcoin fields (with fake stuff just click off the enable button) then it should work atleast it did for me.

He just reply...after sending 5 emails to his account and 2 eamils to his paypal email account and the reply came 5 minutes after I escalate the case on paypal.

reply tomorrow for tracking no.
thanks.
Jack.

Funny shit. He told me - and i can quote this from skype - that he cannot coordinate/reference orders with tracking ID's .. If DHL cant tell me theres a package comming my way tomorrow i'll file a paypal dispute.

Im considering just contacting gridseed insted and popping up a .eu reseller shop.

Aparrently its doable for anyone.

Are there any .eu resellers yet? - ones getting stock directly from gridseed?
