I had to modify the premineplus-qt.pro file (following this http://pw999.wordpress.com/2013/09/29/compiling-memecoin-qt-on-xubuntu/) to make it work and then it successfully built  doing qmake-qt4 and then qmake Smiley

That is really cool! Please message 'TheMightyX' with the process and let him add it to the soon to be made ANN for PMP.

Done, but you might want to rewrite that in a bit more userfriendly way. Correcting yourself in a user guide doesn't improve clarity.

Got 1002 blocks now, 1500 PMP stuck in stake and just 2 confirms on the last two incoming tx's.

Update: Lots more POS action now, still tiny amounts.

Since you got your panties in a bunch I reworded it.  Tongue
Might want to delete your quote of my previous post.
It should mostly be PoW blocks.
If you are getting tiny amounts (0.00001 or 0.00003) those are tx fees you are mining PoW blocks.
Min stake age is 6 hours, so you can only mint every 6 hours. But if you are minting every 6 hours you won't be getting very big amounts.

For debian, its quite simple. I added at the top of the build-unix.txt that you need to mkdir "obj" in the src folder before running the makefile.
No other modifications are necessary.

Its a two step process really...
Assuming you have your build environment setup already:
Code:
apt-get install ntp git build-essential libssl-dev libdb-dev libdb++-dev libboost-all-dev libqrencode-dev

The two steps are:

1. clone the github using "git clone X" where X is my github.
2. cd into /premineplus/src/ folder and run "make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-"

done.
https://litecoin.info/Compiling_the_Litecoin_daemon_from_source_on_Debian has a great guide.
I originally used https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=460178.msg7150412#msg7150412 because it walks you through setting up a memory swap file (good if you are using a droplet or small vps).
wish windows compiling was so easy -_-

I'll add a link to those instructions you provided in the build docs.

Any word from busoni yet?

Not a word  Sad

But PMC is still tradeable there...

Maardein, are you still hashing PMC? We may need you to do that for awhile....

Community: We need to 'bounty' Maardein some PMP for this service... don't you all think?

Input please...

I can safely report everyone is on 0.7.3 now and the network is back up and running smoothly.
Don't forget to setgenerate true 1.

If you get an issue where you've typed something into the console and it crashes, please follow the instructions I posted here.

Ideally we would all just export our private keys and import them into a completely new wallet and rescan blockchain. But thats more hassle and I don't want to have to ask everyone to do that.

Sorry guys, you can all blame me for that misscalculation.

the doc/build-unix.txt doesn't say about mkdir obj... And this builds only PreminePlusd, not PreminePlus-qt, was this intended?

That's strange, he usually is very quick in responding.

I am still hashing, but sometimes the wallet hangs and stops working. Sometimes it is working fine for weeks, and sometimes not even for a day. But you can count om me hashing Smiley

Just so everyone is on the same page.
What we've done is extended the PoW blocks from 1,000 to 100,000 (seems like overkill).
This will allow us to propagate the network with empty PoW blocks and normal PoS blocks until such a time as we have enough people to safely propagate the network on PoS alone. Again we've only swapped less than 10% of all PMC.
Once we are ready and able it will be quite simple to switch back.

There is an issue with the modified wallet (its not because of the wallet mods but more likely due to the build environment on my computer being slightly different than the devs). I'll get him to compile the new wallet for launch release, so bear with the quirk until then. If it crashes I've posted instructions on an easy fix above.
Thanks.

Yea sorry I just saw you were talking about wallet-qt on ubuntu.
and I overwrote that file with the original one before I recreated the git  Undecided
Sorry I'm trying to do a million things at once.

I checked the tutorial you linked and you are right the pro file does force a specific boost version for windows compiling. This would break forwards compatibility on unix. I suppose we could set that to something like:

Code:
windows:LIBS += -lboost_system-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53 -lboost_filesystem-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53 -lboost_program_options-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53 -lboost_thread-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53
unix:LIBS += -lboost_system -lboost_filesystem -lboost_program_options -lboost_thread

Instead of:

Code:
LIBS += -lboost_system-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53 -lboost_filesystem-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53 -lboost_program_options-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53 -lboost_thread-mgw46-mt-sd-1_53

Or, we could just tell people to rename their boost folders on windows to remove version info. Its handy having the library version in the folder name though.

I'll make those changes to the pro file and push them.

Sure, but shouldn't it add up to the same %? If not, I'd like to hear how to hold off staking.

You guys are not the ones who should hold off staking. WE are ( the giveaway and swap devs ) However I am unable to at the moment due to the little debug log bug... SO all staking the swap does will be set aside... ( I do have a list of the stakes, all ONE of them ) And as a community we will decide what to do with them...  ( I vote set up a bounty wallet, even a cold bounty wallet )

Yes, it is.

Just make sure you have the updated PMP wallet.

Then setting generate to true would help the network.

I understand the need to hold off staking, for example if you open your wallet because you need to send funds to someone and then BAM it stakes and your funds are withheld from you for 30 blocks until they confirm again.
That being said with 20s blocks; 30 blocks is only 10 minutes... so... worse comes to worse you stake and then your funds aren't available for 10 minutes.

if your wallet is encrypted you will automatically NOT stake, staking only happens when your wallet is unlocked.
what you should do though, is add this to your .conf file:

Code:
reservebalance=1000
or however much amount you don't want to stake.
So if you have 2000 PMP it will only make 1000 available to stake.
When you do eventually stake, it will use up the accumulated coin age of the coins. Max coin age is 30 days, so if you don't unlock your wallet at least once a month and stake you will be losing profit. Lowest age is 6 hours so everyone can stake at least once every six hours. We can change this if we want before the big Launch but I thought these values were pretty fair. For example we can lower the max coin age to increase incentive to stake more often. 1 week max coin age would require people to stake at least once a week.

p.s. kbroadfoot stop staking the damn swap funds XD
Console bug does not prevent you from using any of the regular commands. Just don't misstype them or use the help command in the meanwhile. things like getmininginfo/getpeerinfo/setgenerate/etc all work fine.
If you do crash just delete the boost_interprocess folder, reload and don't use whatever command it was until next release.
The two commands I know of that crash the wallet are "help" and "walletpassphrase". Just use the unlock button instead if you need to for now.

This bug should be confined to the windows qt.exe that I compiled myself and most likely win x64. (ha sorry!)

Kind of messy I guess. The problem is we can't edit OP here, can we?

Here's the post regarding the new PMP wallet:
