Send coins with a signed message. It is a wallet feature...

Just in case someone F's up and doesn't attach the PMC+ address, we can still step in to fix this problem manually, providing they can prove its their transaction. But the automated system will save us a lot of time in compiling amounts and addresses.

Our new coin is due in 24 hours.

Edit: Woot 900th post!!

In the UI? I've seen this in other coins, but don't see the field in the PMC wallet. Or is it a console command?

For the guy above, you can calculate return addresses automatically to send coins back if there is no (usable) address in the message you receive.

Googling about, signmessage proves you own an address, nothing more. So in order for people not to have to figure out which coins are on each of their addresses and send those values in separately, with separate signatures as proof, they'd have to consolidate the coins on a single address first or something right?

Well now I feel dumb, but I blame KBroadfoot.
Users will have to send us their tx id and destination address manually.

Will the new coin have the same address generation system, i.e. starting with a 1 and all that?

In that case...someone with 1000 coins to swap could send 999.99 to the swap address, and 0.01 to their new (PMC2 or PMC+ or whatever) address. That way swaps can still take place anonymously, no trickery, etc.

I think the PMC wallet supports comments when using the console, it's just not implemented in the GUI.

[edit]

Just tested it, it seems to work. I used this command:

Code:
sendfrom "" 194pAXCLqEmWZUf8T89GLhN7YLWvfhxZ9o 1 1 "This is a test comment"

Which gives this transaction:

Code:
Status: 1/onbevestigd, uitgezonden naar 4 nodes
Datum: 4-6-2014 12:37
Aan: Hashcows pool donation 194pAXCLqEmWZUf8T89GLhN7YLWvfhxZ9o
Debet: -1.00 PMC
Transactiekosten: -0.10 PMC
Netto bedrag: -1.10 PMC

Opmerking:
This is a test comment
Transactie-ID:: 29b36dfd6c618fa7259eaeb3f8fbe55a0ec6de66f3a18d8c4bc5ede2ba9da1dd

However, the comment does not show up in the blockexplorer. I don't know why. Could be not implemented in the explorer maybe?

At the end of the main giveaway, and after bounties and bribes and such, we may re-open the PMC to PMC+ swap ( a second chance )
I think we should get rid of the second chance swap period. By this time PMC holders can just sell there PMC and buy PMC+ on an exchange. Keeping the second chance swap period means that PMC+ price stays tied to PMC price. We'd be anchoring PMC+ down with a declining coin for an extended amount of time.  It also means this coin will be significantly 'premined' in the sense that one party will hold a substantial amount of the total coin for an extended period of time. While I for one have no problem with someone like Kbroadfoot  holding this premine, it decreases our appeal to newcommers.

PCP?
Premine Coin Plus
sounds a little catchier to me that PMP.

and we can have a tongue in cheek ad campaign.. "Riding high on PCP" or something more creative than i'm able to come up with this early in the morning =P

It cant be PMC if both coins will live on simultaneously for an extended amount of time.
And i don't like 4 letter tags, it becomes a mouthfull.

Well, maybe it's just easier to do it manually then.

Ah, that's a pity. I wouldn't go for PMC, just to reserve that one for the original PMC. I would go for PMCP or PCP like ctenc001 suggested. PMP indeed sounds like pimp, but I don't know whether that's a good thing Wink

haha PMP isn't bad =)
There's also PMC2.
Numbers are allowed, EMC2 exists on poloniex. I Still think I prefer PCP but PMC2 stays more true to our roots and may be a good option as well.
