Maardien, it might be a good idea to let the network go quiet until such a time that we are ready to switch over. Then you could facilitate the trade and we can put PMC1 to rest for good. I don't think we can in good conscience ask you to keep running the network. In fact, if that difficulty was to come down I could run it on one of my work computers.

I don't mind keeping the network running for another month or so. I think as long as we have a working exchange and multipool, we need to have working transactions.

Thanks to whoever sent me 250PMC! Let's hope it will be worth something in the future Smiley

Something like the stepped exchange could be good, but the suggested rate is way to steep. I know I would 'cheat' the system by making multiple wallets.

Thanks for keeping the network running. Most people abandon a coin once the network stops moving, I know usually give up at that point.

Lets move on this, get the new coin created already and start the process...

We are discussing how to convert PMC to newPMC without newPMC even existing...

In the meantime I have asked 'nearmiss' to look at Europex.eu or C-Cex for possible purchasing point for PMC for Hashcows....

Polo will drop us like a hot potato unless we move quickly... ( and who really cares, really.. polo is the death of so many coins sometimes it seems )

It is sad because Tristan is a really cool exchange owner... it is the customers who pump dump and kill...  it isn't his fault...

I just tested bitcointa.lk by making the quoted post and deleting it. It looks like bitcoita.lk retains deleted posts.

I'm going to delete this post and see if bitcointa.lk keeps it

You can check for yourself here.

https://bitcointa.lk/threads/ann-pmc-premine-coin-rare-mining-transaction-fee-proof-of-concept.243482/page-390#post-6615516

Great idea.
Thank you for doing that.

I'm going to be working out the details over the next day or two. I'd like to talk to Kbroadfoot about a few things before we set anything in stone. If anyone has any ideas or concerns feel free to message me.

Heres the BTC donation address: 1HMq6p6cEzCqVL1HKTMM6nG9bWHkkCEDRK
Remember we only need .5 BTC so please check it before you donate. Anything over .5 BTC I will assume is a donation towards a unique wallet (which is what I would like to do).

I've created a new PMC address as well: 1PTUASfFPU6gWWsQGYmF4wURbTzHSBq3SX
I would prefer donations in BTC because there is not enough buy orders on Poloniex to exchange the PMC to BTC so we can pay the developer.
But I suppose I will match any PMC donated with my own BTC at the current Poloniex rate of 0.0004 because I think that is a good rate.

I'll also start the donations with .05 BTC from myself. we only need 9/10 more people to donate .05 BTC to get started.

Wow someone just donated .2 BTC!
This brings our total up to .3 BTC + 250 PMC (0.0125075 BTC) for a total of .30125 BTC.
We are 60% of the way there guys!

Current price of PMC is going up on poloniex. It seems some people are confident the price will be higher after we switch  Cheesy

Still need to discuss coin specifics before we send it to the developer.
I'll try IRC again tonight in a few hours from now.

Donated 0.2 BTC. We need to get started my friends, since I guess busoni wants to see some results soon, which I fully understand.
Burning PMC for PMC+ would be nice, phase should last about 4 weeks so everyone who cares has the chance to switch. Coins not burned will stay PMC and are probably worthless then.
This will reduce the total amount of PMC by a great amount and we know exacly how many coins are left. One idea to burn PMC would be a market on Poloniex, where You can buy PMC+ with PMC in the relation 1:1.
After four weeks all coins (PMC+) left over will be destroyed. I guess busoni can do this, in my eyes he's one of the most trustworthy persons in cryptos.
In the next phase PMC+ will become POS with "modern" features. I think about features like transactions and a chat routed through tor or i2p.
Is that doable? I'm sure it is, it just needs some nerd progging this. I'm not able to do this, but if I was able to do it, I'd start buying PMC and finish the project.
And when You take a look at the price of PMC now, noone could say later, he had no chance to get in. I'm strongly against giveaways btw, didn't work for us and it seems people prefer to get scammed by IPOs. So please no IPO or giveaway.
Just my two Satoshis.

It's not dead, just cheap. Without fundamental changes it's dead, that's right. Why? Well, I guess PMC thought it could survive by shortness and friendly people. We stay friendly, but we should bring in some hard featuers now.

A lot of alts go/went through this, but PMC is going to be different.  We have a new path and solid support.  Cheap, for now; dormant but certainly not dead, simply changing.

Letter to Busoni:

We have raised the BTC to create PMC2... Now, very soon, there will be discussions on how to use PMC to buy PMC2 ( your help would be great, but not nessesary ) and how to distribute the rest of the coin.... PMC2 ( possibly be renamed ) will be 100 percent POS WITH rewards... PMC holders will be able to buy in... a lot of coins will be given out for free, and the rest will be POS rewards.... it will still be relatively scarce... instead of 500,000 coins, more like 2 million ever total... but our community is strong and we appriceciate you giving us this chance....

In addition  I did ask 'nearmiss' from Hashcows to look into Europex.eu and C-CEX for possible buying points for PMC, just in case...

Understand this: It was the PMC community ( Me mainly ) that got him to use you ( Poloniex ) as a buying site for coins for the scrypt multipool...  it cost us 0.65 BTC to get it done... XBC rides PMC's coat tails on this one...

BUT Tristan... hang a little longer, we will get it done...

Thanks again...

All right since I'm in charge of designing the GUI for the wallet I'll get started on that.
Once I'm done that I'll send it over to the developer and he makes the modifications we request, creates genesis block, nodes and compiles. Before I send anything to him though I'd like to get consensus on the specs.
Nullu and Kbroadfoot if you wouldn't mind messaging me tomorrow and letting me know when you are both available to speak.
I'll leave my BTCtalk open all day.

You want to give out a lot of coins for free. You got my veto regarding that point. The coin gets diluted that way. You can get 1% of all coins for about 250$ atm. I bought >5k for peanuts. In case someone shows interest he shall go to Poloniex and get some! Giveaways never work. Features do. That's what we need.

I'd be willing to do some work on a new website for PMC2.
PM me if interested.
I'm the one that built the original website, which can still be seen here: http://pmc.cryptotycoons.com/

I also did some digital artwork which was originally going to be used for PMC, but can be used for the launch of the new coin. I'd be happy to give copyright permission for its use in anything related to the new currency.

It's rather future-tech looking. I can send renders on request.

I agree. A lot of the recent freely distributed coins have all met with the same fate.
PMC is freely distributed to start with and the dumpers has already dumped and moved on.
The benefit of PMC at this point is, the majority of the people who are holding this coin, are believers of this coin.
So there is no point in inviting those dumpers back and giving them more coins to dump, for this project will never succeed.

A different way of distribution would be ideal.
I dont think we have to distribute all the new coins initially and we got enough trusted forum members in this community.
Why dont we keep some coins with the trusted members in a publicly visible account, and distribute the coins as and when someone does something useful for the community.

PMC is so cheap now and those who want to get involved can buy some cheap coins from poloniex now.

I agree....  the so called 'airdrop' of the rest of the coins will not happen right away... and TheMightyX has come up with a tiered system to drop those coins anyway with will make it a longer process... I think Nullu shoud be in charge of the Airdrop..

Phase one is simply the offering of swapping PMC for PMC2 ( or what ever it is named )

This phase should be long enough to get the word out AND we need to destroy any remaining coins NOT swapped in...
( People like public destruction of coins for whatever reason )

Then after some time ( another month perhaps ) we start the second phase... which should/can last for 6 months
Also we should put a bunch into a faucet that can be hit daily etc etc.... that would be up to Nullu...

We could map the number of coins swapped out for PMC2 to an equal number earmarked for giveaway as well.. or not... there are a lot of possibilities...

Good plan.

Some ideas would be
 - Daily faucet
 - Giveaway through exchanges (a small amount per account holder, like poloniex or europex does)
 - Giveaway for tweets, but the amount would vary depending on the number of followers the twitter account has.
 - Blog posts, again depend it on the number of followers.
 - Merchant adoption

The POS interest generated while we are waiting for the giveaway programs to end can be donated to charities like seanoutpost etc.

We could get help from the community to help with the giveaway programs and we could set aside some reward for the helping members too.
In effect we could use the extra coins we generate for some wise marketing of our coin and we definitely will stand out from the rest of the flock.

I'd be happy to keep a proportion of the coins safe until the time comes to distribute them. As long as we have a well thought out plan on how it's all going to happen.

What went wrong with the initial distribution was too many coins were given to too few people too quickly. I like the idea of phases, and a well-thought out approach to distribution.
