Not sure but maybe you opened your wallet in some phishing website which can result in loss of funds from your myetherwallet.

 After investigation together with Mr. Taylor we are found problem in Firefox addon EAL, actually it was not official. I wrote to firefox support and they just delete this from addon list. But my ether already gone and in that situation not have any faults from my side....

So the official EAL is in the Chrome store but not in the Firefox store because it was still under review. Meanwhile there was a fake EAL in the Firefox store that got through before the real one. How did that get through and isn't Mozilla accountable?

this thread is a legend for the cryptoworld i guess, kudos for the great ethereum devs:) you really changed the world, yes bitcoin changed the world but ethereum will be the leading currency in this world. With cheap and faster transactions, smart contract opportunities ETH is better than almost every other coin. My guess is at the of the 2018, ETH price is above 4000 usd. if bitcoin is expected to be 100000 usd at the end of 2018, keeping same exchange rates with now Eth has to be 3900 usd by standard. so we'll keep watching.

I think Ethereum has a great future. But realize it is a very speculative and risky investment.
It has also increased about 3000% over the last few months.
So just make your sure don't over invest yourself. Put in what you can afford to lose so you don't panic sell if it goes through a correction.
I also highly recommend getting to know well what it is you are investing it.
Knowing your investment well will help you keep confidence in it even if the price goes through some scary times.

I have been following ethereum for 12 months now and I am overwhelmed that I have not bought and hodl at least 1000, I am sure that the current price is not overestimated and that at the end of 2018 it should be at least around 2000 $.

I hope so. If it is true that ethereum will reach $ 2,000 later there will be many rich people who suddenly arrive. But now the price of ethereum is around $ 700. But I am sure this price will keep on increasing.

I feel sorry for you, I really do.

We are our own banks. It's the price we pay for crypto. Historically banks have always had to protect them against thieves. It's like the wild west.

What can you do? With so many victims the thief is now on the radar. You can hope the thief gets caught and your Ethereum is returned.

Everybody knows Ethereum will trade futures soon like Bitcoin, why on earth is it still under $1000 perhaps it goes up slower because there are more coins outstanding but only 6 times more than Bitcoin. I mean $692 for Eth  vs 19400 for Bitcoin? Do the math 19400/6 = 3,233. Isn't Eth way undervalued as a competitor to Bitcoin right now, wow! It must takeoff any minute to the 800 to 1000 I would suspect.
I can't see how in this environment how Eth can trade for less than 1000 since we know it's next in line to trade futures like Bitcoin

You're not thinking of the whole picture. Besides the simple numbers of coins in circulation, take a look at the major difference between btc and eth....ICOs! The Ethereum market has a much stronger and more consistent sell pressure on it than BTC does, and that inhibits pumps of the nature we see in btc.

Besides, making straight comparisons like that doesn't even work well, since the coins aren't in direct competition (platform vs store of value). Plus, Eth also has direct exchange to fiat, so it's no longer tightly coupled to the btc price.

Still, I'd be happy to see a $3k+ eth price

I really appreciate your comments includebeer. I understand there can be selling pressure from eth icos but it seems like more eth is being allocated to the icos right now than is being sold into fiat or other cryptos the net hodl is now helping eth take off.....

, it's not like EVERYONE didn't know this was an issue, even way before CryptoKitties launched. Scalability has been the #1 problem for blockchain for fucking years now. And I do mean blockchain, meaning Ethereum is by no means the only coin that is facing this problem. Of course it hasn't been "fixed" yet. It's not like some trivial bug that can just be patched. Fuck, we've seen the public war over scalability solutions in the Bitcoin space for over 3 years now.

Does the general public (Ethereum community) not understand the issue? Literally all that is happening is an increase in network usage. When your network can't handle that increase, you get the kind of congestion that we see now. Still though, Ethereum is by far the fastest blockchain (in transactions/sec), and fees are still lower (generally) than say...Bitcoin.

And, as we all know, scalability solutions have been under research and work since before Ethereum even launched.

Bitcoin's surge in price is a mixed of everything particularly the media hype and newcomers coming in to join the bandwagon.  Ask the newbies buying bitcoins now, they don't really know what bitcoin or what blockchain is.  They just know of bitcoin as a good investment right now because it could give you returns in one day which you could get in a year's time in forex or the stck market.

They don't know what altcoins are as of the moment.  That is one logical answer

This current market movement reminds me about the time we first reach $480 and Bitcoin started the pump at $8200.
We moved sideway between 488-450 for a few days with low volume when Bitcoin move up from 8200 to $11,400.
The ratio was slightly decreased day by day too.
It seems true when at this time all money is flying to Bitcoin.. push the price higher and higher.. Ethereum buying power is just enough to keep us sideways.
If Bitcoin continues to pump.. we will just be fine around 600-700.. so do not long the ratio at this time guys.
